  • Patent number: 8483687
Abstract: An arrangement and method for radio network relocation of a mobile terminal (114) from a first base station controller (122) to a second base station controller (122?) by anchoring at least some SGSN functions with respect to the first base station controller; and relocating at least some RNC functions from the first base station controller to the second base station controller. RNC (124), SGSN (132) and GGSN (134) components may be integrated together, and the RNC (124) may be parented by an SGSN. Alternatively, RANAP SGSN functionality may be split between SGSN and RNC, RANAP and user plane signals may be relayed by the first base station controller to the second base station controller, and the first base station controller may act as an anchor.

  • Publication number: 20120099529
Abstract: An arrangement and method for session control in a wireless UMTS radio access network (100) by performing creation and deletion of application-specific packet sessions (PDP contexts) in the network, with application-specific QoS parameters, without requiring the explicit cooperation of the application software (either via software API or modem AT command). This allows session set-up and tear-down control of dedicated packet sessions for particular data services, in a UMTS 3G mobile wireless network, with application-specific QoS parameters, with umodified applications operating over the network.

  • Patent number: 8165824
Abstract: An improvement in monitoring alcohol levels through transdermal testing is provided by detecting if environmental gasses, referred to as interferents, have been introduced into a transdermal vapor sample. An insensible skin perspiration sample may not be completely controlled and can contain interferents from an environmental source rather than the subject. Before testing a skin perspiration sample, the alcohol sensor is sampled and averaged to establish a baseline value. A sample is drawn and presented to the alcohol sensor. The output of the alcohol sensor is monitored to determine the amount of alcohol in the sample. A maximum alcohol sensor value for the transdermal alcohol monitor is set by determining the baseline value when no alcohol is present in the sample. Subsequent baseline values during a reading above the maximum alcohol sensor value indicate that an environmental interferent is present in the alcohol sensor.

  • Patent number: 8122913
Abstract: A hose or cable protector has a pair of articulating guides, each with rollers for creating an arcuate hose path around the sharp corner of a tunnel mouth which would otherwise cause abrasion to the hose. A stop imposes a guide to guide angle of eighty (80) degrees but the usual angle is greater and up to one hundred and twenty (120) degrees. Arches span the guides and retain the protector on the hose or cable. In a variant, the arches are spring loaded and adjustable to retain or release the hose. A control line positions the protector at the selected site.

  • Publication number: 20110290695
Abstract: The present invention describes a system (100, 100a, 100b) for dispensing and packaging bituminous products into blocks or slabs. Each block/slab of bitumen (200, 200a) is sealed by a bitumen compound film (160). The bitumen compound film (160) is made up of about 10-30% by weight of natural bitumen and about 5-25% by weight of a synthetic rubber polymer and copolymers. The bitumen compound film (160) is melted with the bituminous product and is fully compatible with the molten bitumen, leaving no residue but enhances the physical properties of the resultant bitumen mixture.

  • Patent number: 7820743
Abstract: A process for preparing bitumen bale for clean, safe, eco-friendly and cost-effective packing, storing and transporting of viscous bitumen products and the products thereof is delineated in the present disclosure. The bituminous products are introduced into a baling process line. The cooling efficiency is enhanced by utilizing the process. Viscous bitumen products are made in the form of spiral bitumen bale. “BituBale Film capsules” are produced by the process. Polymer additives are added to bitumen/asphalt, by the process, to enhance the durability and to get good gripping surfaces. The process enhances the homogenous nature of the products. The process for preparing bitumen bale for clean, safe, eco-friendly and cost-effective packing, storing and transporting of viscous bitumen products is a clean, safe, environmentally friendly and cost effective method.
