  • Publication number: 20140007037
Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for estimating optimal gate sizes in a circuit design using numerical delay models of cells and cell types in a technology library. Gate sizes are optimized in the circuit design in a reverse-levelized processing order. Gates that are at the same level in the reverse-levelized processing order, and whose inputs are electrically connected to the same driver output are optimized together. A closed-form expression is used to determine the optimized size for each gate in a set of gates that are optimized together. Some embodiments perform multiple optimization iterations, wherein in each optimization iteration all of the gates in the circuit design are processed in the reverse-levelized processing order. The iterative optimization process terminates when one or more termination conditions are met.

  • Publication number: 20140006826
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for provision of a low power, low frequency squelch break protocol are described. In some embodiments, a fixed or variable time transmitter LFPS (Low Frequency Periodic Signaling) mechanism may be used that does not require a handshake and therefore much simpler in implementation than USB3 (Universal Serial Bus 3.0), for example. Also, an embodiment does not require a link common mode to be established and therefore may be optimized to support shorter durations for effecting exit from an electrical idle state that may be established via power-gating, for example. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8621408
Abstract: Systems and techniques for optimizing a circuit design are described. Some embodiments reduce the number of gates in the library (e.g., by dynamically pruning the library) which are considered for optimization. Some embodiments create a linear delay model, and use the linear delay model instead of a non-linear delay model to substantially reduce the amount of computation required to check whether or not a particular replacement gate improves one or more metrics of the circuit design. Some embodiments determine an order for processing the gates in the library or for processing input pins of a gate to facilitate early rejection of a candidate gate in the library of gates. In some embodiments, the evaluation of the impact of a candidate gate transformation is done progressively and level-by-level only up to the point where the gate transformation degrades one or more metrics.

  • Patent number: 8621405
Abstract: Systems and techniques for incrementally updating Elmore pin-to-pin delays are described. During operation, an embodiment receives a representation of a physical topology of a routed net that electrically connects a driver pin to a set of load pins. The embodiment then computes a set of incremental Elmore delay coefficients based on the representation. Next, using the Elmore delay coefficients, the embodiment computes a set of delays based on the representation, wherein each delay in the set of delays corresponds to a delay between the driver pin and a corresponding load pin in the set of load pins. As load pin capacitances change during circuit optimization, the set of incremental Elmore delay coefficients can then be used to update the delays between the driver pin and the load pins in a very computationally efficient manner.

  • Publication number: 20130346666
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for tunneling platform management messages through inter-processor interconnects. Platform management messages are received from a management entity such as a management engine (ME) at a management component of a first processor targeted for a managed device operatively coupled to a second processor. Management message content is encapsulated in a tunnel message that is tunneled from the first processor to a second management component in the second processor via a socket-to-socket interconnect link between the processors. Once received at the second management component the encapsulated management message content is extracted and the original management message is recreated. The recreated management message is then used to manage the targeted device in a manner similar to if the ME was directly connected to the second processor. The disclosed techniques enable management of platform devices operatively coupled to processors in a multi-processor platform via a single management entity.

  • Patent number: 8614101
Abstract: Devices and methods incorporate lysis agents into a point-of-care testing device. The sample is loaded, and then the sample travels until it encounters a lysis agent. The lysis agent is preferably pre-loaded onto the collection device. In a preferred embodiment, the initially lysis agent is localized between the sample application zone and the conjugate zone. The lysis agent is preferably soluble or miscible in the sample transport liquid, and the lysis agent is solubilized and activated upon contact with the sample transport liquid. The sample transport liquid then contains both lysis agent in solution or suspension and sample components in suspension. Any lysis-susceptible components in a sample, then being exposed in suspension to the lysis agent, are themselves lysed in situ. The running buffer then carries the analyte, including any lysis-freed components, to the detection zone.

  • Publication number: 20130335562
Abstract: A mobile device tracks a relative pose between a camera and a target using Vision aided Inertial Navigation System (VINS), that includes a contribution from inertial sensor measurements and a contribution from vision based measurements. When the mobile device detects movement of the target, the contribution from the inertial sensor measurements to track the relative pose between the camera and the target is reduced or eliminated. Movement of the target may be detected by comparing vision only measurements from captured images and inertia based measurements to determine if a discrepancy exists indicating that the target has moved. Additionally or alternatively, movement of the target may be detected using projections of feature vectors extracted from captured images.

  • Publication number: 20130335554
Abstract: A mobile device compensates for a lack of a time stamp when an image frame is captured by estimating the frame time stamp latency. The mobile device captures images frames and time stamps each frame after the frame time stamp latency. A vision based rotation is determined from a pair of frames. A plurality of inertia based rotations is measured using time stamped signals from an inertial sensor in the mobile device based on different possible delays between time stamping each frame and time stamps on the signals from the inertial sensors. The determined rotations may be about the camera's optical axis. The vision based rotation is compared to the plurality of inertia based rotations to determine an estimated frame time stamp latency, which is used to correct the frame time stamp latency when time stamping subsequently captured frames. A median latency determined using different frame pairs may be used.
