  • Publication number: 20090248439
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system to control and optimize clinical pathways of a plurality of patients within a medical facility as well as across several medical facilities. The method of controlling and optimizing pathways uses real-time localization devices for patients, resources, such as clinical images and employees of the medical facility (e.g. a service technician, a senior consultant or the like). Based on the local position of patients, staff members and/or resources, the system proposes a medical system that generates clinical pathways for patients, is adapted to change clinical pathways and to provide schedules for patients as well as the use of resources. The invention provides further means of real-time information of patients about changes in their schedule. The method provided enables a medical facility to streamline their processes and to increase patient throughput.

  • Publication number: 20090188179
Abstract: For uncoupling a building structure 3 from the ground 2 a sliding pendulum bearing 1 is suitable for the protection of building structures in the case of movements of the ground 2, due to earthquakes for example, or as an alternative for conventional deformation bearings. The bearing 1 has a first sliding face 5 with a first concave sliding face 5? and a sliding shoe 4, which is in sliding contact with the first sliding face 5? of the first sliding plate 5. A low friction material 9a of a low-friction plastic is entrapped in the sliding shoe 4 which has elastoplastic equilibrium properties. In particular as a low friction material 9a ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is utilized. After a displacement entailed by an external force the sliding shoe 4 returns of its own accord into a stable equilibrium position.

  • Publication number: 20090032413
Abstract: The invention relates to a multi-compartment packaging comprising a base part provided with at least two cups (11,12) which are used to receive the components, and a cover film which is connected to the base part. The components can be mixed together by exerting pressure on the connection area between the at least two cups which, as a result, becomes detached. The cover film is made of at least two films (20,30) having different structures. One section or one surface arranged above at least one cup (11) is covered by only one of the two films (20). Due to said selective covering of the base part and/or the components located in the two cups by the films adapted to the user profile of the compartments, the desired physical properties can be adjusted in a separate manner in relation to the density and/or light-impermability for the two cups.

  • Publication number: 20080228530
Abstract: In order to assist medical personnel in the generation of a medical diagnosis, context-related criteria are automatically determined from available case-related primary information, and using these context-related criteria context-related secondary information is automatically filtered out from a secondary data source and is displayed in an information portal on a display element for further processing by medical personnel. Case-related secondary information that support the personnel in the generation of an applicable diagnosis of the current case thus are automatically provided to the medical personnel via this measure.

  • Patent number: 7162111
Abstract: The invention relates to a sensor arrangement for seat occupation detection, comprising a fiber-optic sensor network consisting of at least two sensors. The sensor network detest for example local damping modifications in a fiber network that are caused by microbends or modifications of the Bragg wavelength of fiber-optic Bragg grating sensors (FBGS) distributed in the fiber network that are ceased by loads. The optical sensor network is resistant to electromagnetic parasitic inductions. Due to the nature of the optical lass or polymer optical fibers it is for example possible to integrate the network into the textile cover of the seat or into a cushion.

  • Patent number: 7009186
Abstract: In a method for monitoring of polymer in a liquid state, such as a polymer melt or resin, to detect inhomogeneities therein, such as the presence of other phase objects, especially gels in a matrix formed of the liquid state, the polymer in a liquid state flowing past an inspection point is monitored. At the inspection point, electromagnetic radiation in the form of UV light or polarised electromagnetic radiation is passed through the flow chamber (1) and received by a detector (8), and the absorption of the UV light or the changes in the state of polarisation of the electromagnetic radiation caused by the inhomogeneities are used to observe them.
