  • Patent number: 7412532
Abstract: A song and ad scheduler supporting clip-based and stream-based scheduling of multimedia items generates several hours of schedule in advance. Having multiple channel capability, the scheduler uses as inputs: the channel, associated playlists associated, rotation pattern for the channel, and associated programming rules to produce a schedule of multimedia items for the channel. Initially, the scheduler produces a schedule for each channel of predetermined length; then it periodically revisits the channel to add more songs, keeping the schedule to the desired length. Length of the initial playlist is configurable. The scheduler uses a producer-consumer model for distributing work. Producer threads periodically scan the system for work to be done. When a producer thread encounters work to be done, e.g. adding to the schedule of a channel, the producer thread places a work request into a queue. Worker threads consume the work requests by fulfilling the requested work.

  • Patent number: 7412400
Abstract: A system and method for providing a location owner's location information to third parties (location consumers) is provided. The location server obtains an owner profile controlling access to the location owner's location information. A location consumer requests the location owner's location information through a location request. The location server determines whether the location consumer is authorized to access the location owner's location information according to access information in the owner profile. If the location consumer is authorized to access the information, the location server obtains location information from a location provider and returns the location information to the location consumer. The location consumer may also subscribe to a location owner, such that when an identified subscription event occurs, the location server notifies the location consumer of the location owner's current location.

  • Patent number: 7411927
Abstract: According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method of optimizing point-to-point sessions is disclosed. A registration request is received from a mobile node. The mobile node communicates with a current packet controller function serviced by a packet data serving node. Whether the registration request comprises a previous access network identifier is determined. The previous access network identifier identifies a previous packet controller function. Whether the mobile node is serviced by a mobile Internet Protocol is determined. Next, whether the mobile node communicated with a previous packet controller function serviced by the packet data serving node is determined. The method concludes by deciding whether to negotiate a point-to-point session for the mobile node in response to on the determinations.

  • Patent number: 7412535
Abstract: A method, a system, an apparatus, and a computer program product are presented for a fragment caching methodology. After a message is received at a computing device that contains a cache management unit, a fragment in the message body of the message is cached. Subsequent requests for the fragment at the cache management unit result in a cache hit. A FRAGMENTLINK tag is used to specify the location in a fragment for an included or linked fragment which is to be inserted into the fragment during fragment or page assembly or page rendering. If a FRAGMENTLINK tag is present within the message body of a message, then the FRAGMENT message header for the message may indicate the presence of the FRAGMENTLINK tag with a directive for the FRAGMENT message header, e.g., using a “contains-fragment” directive.

  • Publication number: 20080189314
Abstract: A template is generated for reformatting, or converting, data from a first data formal to a second data format, where such template generation is achieved without human interaction. Particularly, data formatted in accordance with a first data format, as well as the same data but formatted in accordance with a second data format, are received. Without human intervention, a template is generated based on the data formatted in accordance with both the first and the second data formats. The template enables subsequent reformatting of data from the first data format to the second data format, without human intervention, by, for instance, using a generic data handler.

  • Publication number: 20080189446
Abstract: A method is disclosed for monitoring responses of configuration commands using MIB-based and event-based approaches. According to one embodiment, a network element receives a configuration that comprises one or more configuration commands. A command response table, which comprises a plurality of command response entries, is created and stored. The command response table is defined by a MIB. The network element stores information, which describes errors that occurred while executing the plurality of commands in the configuration file, into the command response entries of the command response table. Management applications can query the MIB to obtain details about errors that occurred during execution of the configuration.

Abstract: An arrangement is provided for exposing TCP/IP profiles to a client application operating in a mobile computing environment where each profile comprises a set of TCP/IP configuration parameters that are mapped to a specific network type. An application programming interface (“API”) enables the client application to propagate configuration parameters in a selected TCP/IP profile to a TCP/IP layer in a communication protocol stack that resides on a mobile device. The TCP/IP configuration parameters are applied to data communications with a remote terminal over a network that is comprised of several links and which typically includes a wireless link.

  • Publication number: 20080189335
Abstract: Tool(s) enabling installation of a solution are described. These tool(s) may follow appropriate security precautions to contain possibly dangerous code in a data file's solution even when the solution is installed from a local source, such as when a user is offline. These tool(s) determine what level of security is appropriate for a data file's solution based on the original source of the solution. The tool(s) may also and/or instead enable a user to edit a data file without the user having to discover or deploy a solution application governing the data file.

  • Patent number: 7408827
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a current sense amplifier (ISA) circuit with increased speed, less insensitivities to process variation, better stability and improved output signal swing. According to one embodiment, the ISA circuit described herein may include a pair of output nodes and a first pair of load transistors, each coupled between a different one of the output nodes and ground for pulling the output nodes down to a first voltage value at the beginning of a sense cycle. In addition, a pulse generation circuit is included for activating the first pair of load transistors at the beginning of the sense cycle and deactivating the first pair of load transistors once the first voltage is reached. When activated, the first pair of load transistors provide a relatively low resistance current path between the output nodes and ground. This decreases the output node discharge time and increases the overall speed of the sense amp without compromising circuit stability and output swing.

  • Patent number: 7409691
Abstract: Techniques for extending operating system subsystems are provided. The techniques involve receiving a library that provides functions that extend an application program interface of the subsystem of the operating system. The techniques dynamically add a set of local procedure call ports or system call numbers corresponding to functions provided by the library and provide a known local procedure call port for receiving requests to identify a dynamically added local procedure call port or system call number. When a function of the library is requested, the subsystem determines the dynamically added port or system call number corresponding to the function, and provides an indication of the determined port or system call number to a requester of the function. The requester of the function may then invoke the function using the indicated dynamically added port or system call number.

  • Publication number: 20080182375
Abstract: A multi-bit split-gate memory device is formed over a substrate. A storage layer is formed over the substrate. A first conductive layer is formed over the storage layer. A thickness of a portion of the conductive layer is removed to leave a pillar of the conductive layer and an area of reduced thickness of the conductive layer. A first sidewall spacer is formed adjacent to the pillar to cover a first portion and a second portion of the area of reduced thickness of the conductive layer. The pillar is replaced with a select gate. The area of reduced thickness is selectively removed to leave the first and second portions as control gates.
