    Abstract: An LED controller application specific integrated circuit includes a host interface and a PWM module. The PWM module is configured to control a plurality of LED devices, and comprises a PWM data buffer, an arithmetic core and a plurality of PWM channels. The arithmetic core is configured to generate PWM data according to the PWM turning-point data stored in the PWM data buffer. The plurality of PWM channels are configured to receive the PWM data, and each comprises a PWM controller and a PWM I/O interface. The PWM controller is configured to control the operation of the PWM channel. The PWM I/O interface is configured to connect to an LED device.

    Abstract: A gamma correction apparatus comprising a digital to analog converter (DAC), a plurality of compensating circuits, and at least one adjusting circuit is provided. The DAC is used to receive RGB digital signals to further generate analog signals. The analog signals are then transferred to the relative pixel devices through the signal lines on the LCD panel. The compensating circuits inserted between the DAC and the signal lines are used to adjust the analog signals to correct the displaying brightness of the pixel devices. The adjusting circuit connecting to the compensating circuits is used to control the operation of the compensation circuits. In addition, a method for adjusting gamma curves by providing three common voltage levels related to RGB colors individually is also provided to achieve better white balance.

    Abstract: Rapid thermal annealing methods and systems for annealing patterned substrates with minimal pattern effect on substrate temperature non-uniformity are provided. The rapid thermal annealing system includes a front-side heating source and a backside heating source. The backside heating source of the rapid thermal annealing system supplies a dominant amount of heat to bring the substrate temperature to the peak annealing temperature. The front-side heating source contributes to heat up the environment near the front-side of the substrate to a temperature lower than about 100° C. to about 200° C. less than the peak annealing temperature. The asymmetric front-side and backside heating for rapid thermal annealing reduce or eliminate pattern effect and improve WIW and WID device performance uniformity.
