  • Publication number: 20020180020
Abstract: The present invention provides a structure and a method for multi-chip stack package. The present invention uses the liquid insulating epoxy to adhere and stack chips. The liquid insulating epoxy is filled the space between chips and metal wires bonded thereon and the liquid insulating epoxy is higher than the high of the arc of those metal wires, so it can increase the reliability of stacking and bonding process. The present invention can stack multi-chip (more than two) by controlling the arc height of the wire and the thickness of the chip. The present can easily perform by visible equipment and materials.

  • Patent number: 6489227
Abstract: A process for creating a fuse structure opening in a stack of materials comprised with overlying dielectric layers, and comprised with an underlying polysilicon layer, to expose a conductive fuse structure, has been developed. The process initiates with a dry etching procedure used to create an initial fuse structure opening in the dielectric layers, using a photoresist shape as an etch mask. Subsequent removal of the photoresist shape results in the completion of the fuse structure opening via in situ etching of the polysilicon layer exposed in the initial fuse structure opening. The isotropic wet etch procedure used for photoresist removal and in situ patterning of polysilicon, avoids polysilicon spacer formation on the sides of the conductive fuse structure, which would have been present with the use of an all dry etch procedure. In addition the wet etch procedure selectively terminates on a thin silicon oxide layer, located on the underlying conductive fuse structure.

  • Publication number: 20020163967
Abstract: A transcoder for transcoding digital video signals includes a decoder and an encoder. In the decoder, an end-of-block (EOB) position of an incoming block received by the decoder is determined and a discrete cosine transform (DCT) block type is determined based on the determined EOB position. A reduced number of DCT coefficients is computed in a subsequent inverse DCT computation based on the DCT block type. In the encoder, if the incoming block is interceded, no DCT coefficients are computed after the EOB of the incoming blocks is performing a DCT. Further, in the encoder when the incoming block is intercoded, an algorithm is applied to predict which DCT coefficients may become zero after a subsequent quantization operation, and only DCT coefficients that may not become zero are computed in performing the DCT.

  • Publication number: 20020154698
Abstract: Methods and systems for generating motion vectors for re-encoding video signals are disclosed. The motion vector is determined by the sum of a base motion vector and a delta motion vector. In the case of no frame-skipping, the base motion vector is the incoming motion vector. In the case of frame skipping, the base motion vector is the sum of the motion vectors of the incoming signal since the last re-encoded frame and the current frame. The delta motion vector is optimized by a minimum Sum of the Absolute Difference by searching over a smaller area than if searching for a new motion vector without a delta motion vector. These methods and systems may be used to improve re-encoding digital video signals.

  • Publication number: 20020142305
Abstract: This invention pertains to the discovery that an amplification of some genes or an increase in that gene activity and a deletion of some genes or a decrease in that gene activity is a marker for the presence of, progression of, or predisposition to, a cancer (e.g., ovarian cancer). Using this information, this invention provides methods of detecting a predisposition to cancer in an animal. The methods involve (i) providing a biological sample from an animal (e.g. a human patient); (ii) detecting the level of the genes of the present invention within the biological sample; and (iii) comparing the level of one or more of said genes with a level of one or more of said genes in a control sample taken from a normal, cancer-free tissue.

  • Publication number: 20020139775
Abstract: A method for in-situ descum/hot bake/dry etch a polyimide photoresist layer and a passivation layer in a singe process chamber is disclosed. A process chamber that can be used for conducting in-situ a descum, a hot bake and a dry etch process sequentially in the same chamber is also disclosed. In the method, a process chamber equipped with a wafer platform and a wafer backside heating and cooling device is first provided, followed by the step of positioning a wafer that has a passivation layer and a patterned polyimide photoresist layer on top of the platform. An oxygen plasma is then generated in the chamber cavity to conduct a descum process, followed by flowing a heated inert gas onto a backside of the wafer to conduct a hot bake process. A cooling inert gas is then flown onto the wafer backside and an etchant gas is flown into the chamber to conduct a dry etch process for forming a via opening in the wafer.

  • Patent number: 6449046
Abstract: A polarization-insensitive fiber-optic interferometric sensor system has an erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) at a location between a light source and a sensing array to serve as a post amplifier. An output end of the sensing array is coupled to another EDFA, and further coupled to a receiver, in which this another EDFA is used as an in-line amplifier. As the sensor system is applied for a light source with multiple wavelengths, a dense wavelength division multiplexers (DWDMs) is used to combine the multiple wavelengths into one for amplification, and another DWDM is used to decouple the multiple wavelengths.

  • Publication number: 20020116008
Abstract: A dowel insertion tool includes a T-shaped handle and a hollow sleeve which extends distally from the T-shaped handle. A shaft extends from the handle through the hollow sleeve and includes a transverse extension. A rotatable knob having an annular channel positioned to receive the transverse extension is supported adjacent the handle. A pin is secured to the knob and extends into a helical camming channel formed in the sleeve. Upon rotation of the knob, the pin moves within the camming channel to move the knob longitudinally about the sleeve. Movement of the knob effects longitudinal movement of the shaft. A support plate is secured to the distal end of the shaft. A pair of prongs are slidably secured to the plate. Each of the prongs includes an enlarged head portion which is slidably positioned within a slot formed in the plate. A guide member is secured to the distal end of the sleeve. The guide member includes a pair of guide bores dimensioned to receive a distal end of the prongs.

  • Publication number: 20020076458
Abstract: A method and apparatus for atomizing a liquid stream of metal or metal alloy. This invention relates to producing powders as well as to spray deposition process. During atomizing, a backpressure is created below the exit of the liquid delivery nozzle by the impingement of the atomization gas jets around the atomizdtion zone. And this may block further atomization. The present invention provides a method of atomizing and an atomizing apparatus to control the backpressure. During atomizing, the intensities and directions of the atomization gas jets affects the atomization characteristics. The present invention provides a method of atomizing and an atomizing apparatus to control both the intensities and directions of the atomization gas jets. This invention relates to a method and apparatus for atomizing a liquid stream of metal or metal alloy. This invention relates to producing powders as well as to spray deposition process.

  • Publication number: 20020054044
Abstract: This invention discloses a novel collaborative screen sharing system. In the invented method for collaborative screen sharing, updates to a previously displayed screen are transmitted from a local computer to a remote computer for display. At the local computer, the updates are divided into unit blocks circulated by rigid lines and compared with screen displays stored in the cache memory of the local computer and the remote computer. In transmitting the updates, only identities of unit blocks with screen display identical to screen displays previously stored are transmitted. For unit blocks with screen display not identical to any screen display previously stored, identities and screen display information of the unit blocks are transmitted. Images and unit blocks stored in the local computer and the remote computer are maintained identical and are updated simultaneously.
