Abstract: A pre-pit signal decoder includes a shift register, a pattern comparator, a counting unit, an in-sync signal generating unit and a protection unit. The register receives serial pre-pit bits and converts them into a parallel pre-pit byte. The comparator generates an odd sync bit, an even sync bit, a low bit, and a high bit according to the pre-pit byte and receives a disable signal to operate when the disable signal is not enabled. The counting unit generates a counting value, which marks oddness/evenness of frames of the pre-pit bits and sequence of wobble signals in the frames, according to the odd sync, even sync, low and high bits. The signal generating unit generates an in-sync signal according to the odd sync, even sync, low, and high bits. The protection unit receives the counting value and the in-sync signal to thereby enable the disable signal at positions where the pre-pit bits impossibly exist according to the counting value.

Abstract: A method and apparatus that permits base stations to adaptively set initial power levels in forward link traffic channels (i.e., base station to mobile unit) based on an interference measure, where the interference measure is the difference between the base station transmitted pilot EC/IO and the mobile unit received pilot EC/IO. The interference measure indicates how much interference is present from other base stations in the mobile unit's locale, mobile receiver noise and other similar sources. Call quality and system capacity are optimized since the initial power level is set in accordance with the interference environment. The method of the invention implements the adaptive setting by extracting the mobile unit received pilot EC/IO from the access message transmitted by the mobile unit. The interference measure is then determined and used by the base station to set the initial power level in the forward link traffic channel.

Abstract: A hinge for a portable computer having a monitor with a pivotal end and a main frame with a pivotal end has a sleeve, a washer and a pivotal rod. The sleeve is mounted in the pivotal end of the main frame and has multiple cutouts. The cutouts are formed in the sleeve. The washer has two extensions. The extensions are formed on the washer and selectively engage the cutouts of the sleeve. The pivotal rod is mounted rotatably in the sleeve, is mounted securely in the washer and holds the washer between the pivotal rod and the sleeve. When the monitor pivots to open relative to the main frame of the portable computer, the extensions of the washer engage the cutouts of the sleeve to hold the monitor at a desired visual angle.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for reducing analog PLL (Phase-lock loop) jitter in video ADC application. The HSync/CSync is replaced with a faked HSync signal to be inputted to PLL during vertical blank period. Therefore the analog PLL will only see the faked HSync signal of fixed period as a line-lock trigger signal, while no COAST signal is required. Also, the faked HSync is fine-tuned to match with the external HSync/CSync leading edge to minimize PLL jitter.

Abstract: A heat-dissipating device for radiating heat to the ambient air via natural convection includes a thermally conductive plate and a radiation-enhancing layer. The thermally conductive plate is mounted on a circuit board. The radiation-enhancing layer is attached onto a surface of the thermally conductive plate and having a higher emissivity than the thermally conductive plate. By means of such a structure of the heat-dissipating device, the heat generated from an electronic component on the circuit board is successively conducted to the thermally conductive plate, transferred to the radiation-enhancing layer and radiated from the radiation-enhancing layer to the ambient air via natural convection.

Abstract: A purchase order management method and system is proposed, which is designed for use in conjunction with a network system for providing a purchase order management function, and which is characterized by the capability of allowing the customer to follow a predefined consolidation rule to specifies a number of localities and a plurality of recipients associated with each of the localities, so that if the customer wants to request the merging of multiple batches of products into a single batch for shipment, the related recipient data can be retrieved from the database for generating a recipient grouping code based on the consolidation rule and filled into the electronic purchase order for downloading to the manufacturer, thus requesting the manufacturer to pack and ship the ordered products accordingly. This feature can help enhance the overall efficiency of OEM/ODM business transaction between the customer and the manufacturer.

The dicarboxylic acid ester derivatives of ginsenosides of the present invention can be used to form pharmaceutical acceptable salts thereof having a high water solubility or can be directly dissolved in an aqueous solution of metal salt, and retain the pharmaceutical activities of ginsenosides such as tumor growth inhibition and cancer preventive cytotoxicity. The method outputs a size serial number of a package containing a product and its additional equipment to improve the packing efficiency according to a product order. The system includes an order reading module, a serial number outputting unit, a processing unit, and a data generating module, which cooperate with the method to identify according to the product order whether additional equipment is ordered together with a product, so as to generate size serial numbers of packages for the product and its additional equipment and a size serial number of a delivery package for accommodating the packed product and additional equipment, such that the product and additional equipment can be encased into the delivery package and delivered together, thereby shortening the delivery time and reducing the risk of loss during delivery.
