    Abstract: The present invention provides a mixture for liquid crystal medium and a liquid crystal display using the same. The mixture for liquid crystal medium comprises: at least one anisotropic liquid crystal material and a polymerizable monomer which will polymerize under UV irradiation. The weight percentage of the polymerizable monomer accounts for 0.1% to 1% of the total mixture for liquid crystal medium. In the mixture for liquid crystal medium and a liquid crystal display using the same according to the present invention, by using a polymerizable monomer which will polymerize under UV irradiation and the appropriate content ratio, the polymer bump with small size and good uniformity can be obtained within the mixture for liquid crystal medium after the polymerization, which avoids the bad liquid crystal alignment and the light spot occurred at the dark state of the liquid crystal panel, and then increases the response rapid of the liquid crystal panel to obtain high contrast ratio and stable mass production.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal medium composition for use in liquid crystal display, which includes the following constituent components: a negative type liquid crystal material, a stabilizer, and two or more than two polymerizable monomers that undergo polymerization reactions under UV radiation. The polymerizable monomers are in an amount of 0.1-1% by weight based on total weight of the liquid crystal medium composition. The polymerizable monomers have a structural formula composed of a single benzene ring, two benzene rings, or a naphthalene ring. The structural formula composed of two benzene rings is formed by two benzene rings that are directly linked or linked via a moiety. The benzene ring and naphthalene ring are directly linked at least one polymerizable moiety. Through use of two or more than two polymerizable monomers in the liquid crystal medium composition, polymer bumps having a small size and excellent homogeneity can be obtained.

    Abstract: Combinations of agents that have a synergistic effect for the treatment of a tumor are disclosed herein. These combinations of agents can be used to treat tumors, wherein the cells of the cancer express a mutated BRAF. Methods are disclosed for treating a subject diagnosed with a tumor that expresses a mutated BRAF. The methods include administering to the subject (1) a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof that specifically binds glucose regulated protein (GRP) 94; and (2) a therapeutically effective amount of a BRAF inhibitor. In some embodiments, the tumor is melanoma. In some embodiments the method includes selecting a subject with primary or secondary resistance to a BRAF inhibitor. In further embodiments, treating the tumor comprises decreasing the metastasis of the tumor. In additional embodiments, the BRAF inhibitor comprises PLX4032 or PLX4720.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display panel and a manufacturing method thereof. The liquid crystal display panel includes a first substrate, a plurality of sub-pixel regions formed on the first substrate, liquid crystal disposed in the sub-pixel regions and containing red, green, or blue dye, and a second substrate bonded to the first substrate. Each sub-pixel regions is surrounded by four connected baffle panels, which collectively form a black matrix block wall. The second substrate is positioned on the black matrix block wall to face the first substrate so as to enclose the liquid crystal in the sub-pixel regions. The liquid crystal display panel uses liquid crystal that contains red, green, or blue dye and a black matrix block wall that blocks the liquid crystal to form the R, G, B sub-pixels, so that the manufacture steps are lessened, the structure is simple, and the cost is low.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal medium composition and a liquid crystal display panel manufactured with same. The liquid crystal medium composition includes a negative type liquid crystal material, a polymerizable monomer, a sensitizer, and stabilizer. The sensitizer is an organometallic complex that has an amount of 0.01%-5% of total mass of the liquid crystal composition and has a strong absorption of ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 300-450 nm. The sensitizer converts the primary wavelength range of ultraviolet light for reaction of the polymerizable monomer from 200-300 nm to 300-450 nm, staying away from the absorption band of the liquid crystal material and reducing damages caused on the liquid crystal material and the alignment material of polyimide, thereby heightening reaction efficiency and homogeneity of the polymerizable monomer and the quality and lifespan of the liquid crystal display panel.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a bezel sealant for use in a polymer stabilized vertical alignment liquid crystal display. The bezel sealant includes at least the following compositions: epoxy resin 20-60% by weight, curing agent 5-50% by weight, methacrylate resin or acrylate resin 20-60% by weight, photoinitiator 0.1-1% by weight, filler 5-35% by weight, and silane coupling agent 0.05-5% by weight. The molecular weight of the methacrylate resin or the acrylate resin is greater than or equal to 500. According to the embodiment of the present invention, the dissolution of the methacrylate resin or acrylate resin in the bezel sealant by the liquid crystal medium is prevented to avoid the over-sized bumps formed in the periphery of the bezel. Light leakage phenomenon in the periphery of the bezel is decreased to increase product yield rate.

A method for producing deoxyviolacein by fermenting the recombinant bacteria to produce deoxyviolacein by using L-tryptophan as substrate is provided. The face insert preferably has a thickness less than 4 mm and a mass at least 10 grams less than an insert of equivalent volume formed of the metallic material of the body of the club head. A metallic cap with a peripheral rim is also provided to protect the ends of the composite material of the face insert. Related methods of manufacturing and alternative materials are disclosed. The resin content of the prepreg plies can be controlled through management of the timing and environment in which the resultant prepreg plies are cured and soaked.
