  • Publication number: 20190297028
Abstract: Techniques are provided for controlling resource usage in a computing environment. In response to receiving a content request, a set of candidate content delivery campaigns is identified. For a first candidate content delivery campaign in the set, an anticipated resource usage of a resource that is associated with the first candidate content delivery campaign is determined. The anticipated resource usage is determined based on (1) a resource reduction per event of each event in a set of detected events of a content item of the first candidate content delivery campaign and (2) a decay factor. Based on the anticipated resource usage, it is determined whether the first candidate content delivery campaign is to be removed from the set.

  • Patent number: 10347990
Abstract: A low-profile dual-band filtering patch antenna and its application to LTE MIMO system are disclosed. By using two embedded U-shaped radiating patches and a multi-stub microstrip feed-line, two operating bands and four radiation nulls can been generated and individually controlled, the design is thus very simple and flexible. Based on the proposed low-profile dual-band filtering patch antenna, a MIMO antenna with a very low profile, low mutual coupling and low ECCs has been presented.

  • Patent number: 10341182
Abstract: A system and method identify a network upgrade from a data set including a plurality of configuration sessions. The system performs the method by receiving a plurality of configuration sessions. Each of the configuration sessions comprises a plurality of configuration commands. The configuration commands are generated by a same user identifier and within a time threshold. The method further includes identifying one of the configuration sessions as a network upgrade session. The identification is based on a rareness of the configuration session or a skewness of the configuration session.

  • Patent number: 10311367
Abstract: Recommendation systems are widely used in Internet applications. In current recommendation systems, users only play a passive role and have limited control over the recommendation generation process. As a result, there is often considerable mismatch between the recommendations made by these systems and the actual user interests, which are fine-grained and constantly evolving. With a user-powered distributed recommendation architecture, individual users can flexibly define fine-grained communities of interest in a declarative fashion and obtain recommendations accurately tailored to their interests by aggregating opinions of users in such communities. By combining a progressive sampling technique with data perturbation methods, the recommendation system is both scalable and privacy-preserving.

  • Patent number: 10283829
Abstract: A filtering switch based on dielectric resonator is disclosed which comprising a rectangular dielectric resonator, a metal cavity in which the dielectric resonator is located, a switch circuitry and a T-shape feeding line structure. The ON- and OFF-states of the filtering switch based on dielectric resonator are realized by controlling a coupling between the dielectric resonator and the feeding line structure. EM fields of the rectangular dielectric resonator and T-shape feeding line structure have been theoretically analyzed and utilized to guide the coupling control. The results have shown low ON-state loss, high power capability and high OFF-state isolation. Transmission zeros are generated at both sides of the passband by cross coupling between dielectric resonators or between feeding line structures and coupling line structures, resulting in high skirt selectivity.

  • Publication number: 20180349964
Abstract: Techniques for controlling resource usage in a computing environment are provided. In one technique, a target resource usage for a particular point in time is determined for a content delivery campaign. Determining, for the content delivery campaign, a current resource usage for the particular point in time. Also, a bandwidth associated with the target resource usage at the particular point in time is determined. Based on a difference between the current resource usage and one or more boundaries of the bandwidth, a throttling factor is calculated. Based on the throttling factor, a probability of the content delivery campaign participating in a content item selection event is determined.
