  • Patent number: 8782575
Abstract: Among other things, one or more techniques and systems for performing design layout are provided. An initial design layout is associated with an electrical component, such as a standard cell. A conflict graph is generated based upon the initial design layout. The conflict graph comprises one or more nodes, representing polygons within the initial design layout, connected by one or more edges. A same-process edge specifies that two nodes are to be generated by the same pattern process, while a different-process edge specified that two nodes are to be generated by different pattern processes, such as a mandrel pattern process and a passive fill pattern process. The conflict graph is evaluated to identify a conflict, such as a self-aligned multiple pattering (SAMP) conflict, associated with the initial design layout. The conflict is visually displayed so that the initial design layout can be modified to resolve the conflict.

  • Publication number: 20140150890
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for washing at least one cavity (20?) in a microfluidic component, the cavity (20?) containing a first liquid (F1) and at least one second liquid (F2) being supplied to the cavity (20?) for washing. According to the invention an air bubble (L) is supplied to the cavity (20?) before the washing liquid (F2) is introduced. The air bubble (L), which acts as a virtual barrier layer between the first liquid (F1) and the washing liquid (F2) that follows it enables the washing efficiency to be increased considerably. Overall, this method leads to a saving in washing liquid (F2) and washing time. Moreover, a microfluidic component is proposed for carrying out the method.

  • Publication number: 20140111781
Abstract: A method and apparatus for ultraviolet (UV) and extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography patterning is provided. A UV or EUV light beam is generated and directed to the surface of a substrate disposed on a stage and coated with photoresist. A laminar flow of a layer of inert gas is directed across and in close proximity to the substrate surface coated with photoresist during the exposure, i.e. lithography operation. The inert gas is exhausted quickly and includes a short resonance time at the exposure location. The inert gas flow prevents flue gasses and other contaminants produced by outgassing of the photoresist, to precipitate on and contaminate other features of the lithography apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20140061823
Abstract: A micro-electrochemical sensor contains magnetic compounds inserted within a substrate that exert a magnetic force of attraction on paramagnetic beads held in contact with an electrode. The magnetic compounds can be contained within a fluid that is introduced into a void in the substrate. The electrode can be spaced apart from the magnetic compounds by a dielectric multi-layer membrane. During the fabrication process, different layers within the membrane-electrode structure can be tuned to have compressive or tensile stress so as to maintain structural integrity of the membrane, which is thin compared with the size of the void beneath it. During a process of forming the structure of the sensor, the tensile stress in a TiW adhesion layer can be adjusted to offset a composite net compressive stress associated with the dielectric layers of the membrane. The membrane can also be used in forming both the electrode and the void.

  • Patent number: 8645877
Abstract: A method includes receiving data representing a layout of a DPT-layer of an integrated circuit generated by a place and route tool. The layout includes a plurality of polygons to be formed in the DPT-layer by a multi-patterning process. First and second ones of the plurality of polygons to be formed using first and second photomasks, respectively are identified. Any intervening polygons along a first path connecting the first polygon to the second polygon, and separator regions between adjacent polygons along the first path are identified. The separator regions have sizes less than a minimum threshold distance between polygons formed on the first photomask. The separator regions are counted. A multi-patterning conflict is identified, if the count of separator regions is even, prior to assigning all remaining ones of the plurality of polygons to the first or second masks.

  • Patent number: 8638636
Abstract: One embodiment of the technology is an apparatus, a memory integrated circuit. The memory integrated circuit has word line address decoding circuitry. The circuit allows selection of a single word line to have an erase voltage. A decoder circuit includes an inverter and logic. The inverter has an input, and an output controlling a word line to perform the erase operation. A voltage range of the input extends between a first voltage reference and a second voltage reference. Examples of voltages references are a voltage supply and a ground. In some embodiments, this wide voltage range results from the input being free of a threshold voltage drop from preceding circuitry limiting the voltage range of the input. The logic of the decoder is circuit is controlled by a word line address to determine a value of the input of the inverter during the erase operation.

  • Publication number: 20130294173
Abstract: Various aspects of a nonvolatile memory have an improved erase suspend procedure. A bias arrangement is applied to word lines of an erase sector undergoing an erase procedure interrupted by an erase suspend procedure. As a result, another operation performed during erase suspend, such as a read operation or program operation, has more accurate results due to decreased leakage current from any over-erased nonvolatile memory cells of the erase sector.
