Publication number: 20160340805Abstract: In a cotton gin, water is sprayed into a duct transporting pneumatically conveyed cotton fibers from a gin stand toward a battery condenser to improve the operation of a bale press where the ginned fibers are compacted into a bale. In some embodiments, a taggant is incorporated into the water to mark cotton fibers so threads or fabrics made from the cotton can be identified for quality control purposes. Spray nozzles may deliver water droplets of roughly the same size as the diameter of the cotton fibers. The nozzles may be located on a duct in a location adjacent dead air in the duct to promote coverage of the spray onto the cotton stream. Air may be delivered around the nozzles into the duct to prevent buildup of cotton and debris around the nozzles.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2016Publication date: November 24, 2016Inventor: Ronnie Joe Nimmo, SR.

Publication number: 20160340830Abstract: The invention embodies the application of different combinations of the monitoring and data processing aspects as a means to develop an early warning chatter alarming system. Configuring an early warning chatter alarming system can be as simple as using n? alarm settings to develop an alarming strategy from different trend conditions such as overall RMS, selected vibration frequencies, slope analysis, and wavelet analysis. A higher level of alarming is provided by using a time integrated approach to account for both intensity of the alarm variable and duration. Combining these different aspects with a predictive model incorporates process-operating conditions to enhance the alarming sensitivity for earlier detection and reduce false positives. The springs dampen vibration or feedback transferred from the percussion mechanism to the outer sleeve and felt by the operator. The percussion mechanism includes a pair of elbows and an air conduit which allows the airflow to move through a second flow path into a second air space when the valve assembly directs the airflow through the second flow path.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2015Publication date: November 24, 2016Applicant: M-B-W, Inc.Inventor: Benjamin J. Publication number: 20160340850Abstract: The invention relates to thermal engineering construction, particularly to individual seasonal cooling devices, or temperature stabilizers of soils. The solution is aimed to expand temperature ranges at which temperature stabilizers can be installed and to prevent debris from sealing materials from entering into the well cavity having a coolant. The device contains a temperature stabilizer that functions as a two-phase thermal siphon and includes an aboveground condensing part and underground transporting and vaporizing parts. The temperature stabilizer is placed into the well along with coolant. The well is a hollow cylindrical body with a bottom and a capping element at a top end. The capping element includes a hole for receiving of the temperature stabilizer. The capping element is a detachable stuffing-box seal that includes a support ring installed on a round step in the well, a pressure ring, and thermally expanded graphite rings pressed therebetween.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2016Publication date: November 24, 2016Inventors: Yury Viktorovich Lisin, Pavel Aleksandrovich Revel-Muroz, Aleksandr Nikolaevich Petelin, Vitaly Ivanovich Surikov, Yurii Borisovich Mikheev, Sergei Vasilievich Lakhaev

Publication number: 20160340851Abstract: A method for installing driven cast-in-situ supports of pipes, power transmission towers, and in the mounting of buildings and structures on permafrost soils excludes the ingress of slurry and groundwater into the hole when installing driven cast-in-situ piles in permafrost soils in summer having a thawed seasonal freezing and thawing layer while avoiding the impact of frost heaving forces of soil from seasonal freezing conditions. The method includes driving a casing pipe at a depth of seasonal freezing and thawing of soil, drilling a pilot hole at a depth of not less than the depth of seasonal freezing and thawing of the soil, pouring hardening material in the amount required to fill in the space between the pilot hole walls and the pile from the bottom of the pilot hole to the bottom of seasonal freezing and thawing soil layer, installation of the pile in the pilot hole and poured mortar, and filling the remaining space between the pile and the casing pipe with non-frost heaving loose inert material.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 3, 2016Publication date: November 24, 2016Inventors: Aleksei Nikolaevich Sapsai, Nikolai Vladimirovich Smirnov, Vitaly Aleksandrovich Kumallagov, Evgenii Evgenievich Semin, Aleksandr Vladimirovich Ivakin, Yury Vasilevich Bogatenkov

Publication number: 20160340852Abstract: A construction method for fixing a foundation of a waterborne structure including an offshore platform to a seabed (2) is described. The foundation includes at least one hollow column (108) which incorporates a pile cap (43) at its bottom. In the method, piles (49) are driven into the seabed (2) to a design depth, and the hollow column (108) is then lowered to the seabed (2) so as to surround the pile group and be supported thereby. Concrete is cast into the bottom of the hollow column (108), wherein reinforcement steel bar (45) has been pre-installed to translate the conventional mass concrete plug into a reinforced concrete small pile cap (43) adapted to support the hollow column (108) thereon during construction. The hollow column (108) is de-watered, excessive pile length is cut, and pile cap reinforcement (47) is fixed followed by concrete casting of the pile cap (44). A platform deck is then installed and constructed on top of the now-fixed hollow column (108).Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2015Publication date: November 24, 2016Applicants: CBJ (HONG KONG) OCEAN ENGINEERING LIMITEDInventor: Carlos Wong

Publication number: 20160340853Abstract: The present invention is an interlocking shoring panel for excavation with implied methods of use. In one preferred embodiment the panel comprises a top edge, a bottom edge, a first side edge, a second side edge, an inner surface and an outer surface. The edges have attachment means such as complementary interlocking features for connecting the panel to one or more adjacent shoring panels. The inner surfaces have two or more horizontal channels and two or more vertical support struts at spaced intervals along the length of the shoring panel. A plurality of shoring panels are interconnected to form a shoring ring, and a plurality of shoring rings are interconnected to form a shoring structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 2, 2015Publication date: November 24, 2016Inventor: Russell Pogue

Publication number: 20160340854Abstract: A method for the construction of an improved tank base. A tank base is constructed for protection against accidental spills and/or leaks associated with a tank battery. The improved tank base comprises at least one part of a suitable substrate, which allows for the adhesion of an elastomer such as polyurea. Polyurea is preferably applied using a spray device which yields an average coverage of about 50-80 mils, and most preferably 60 mils. If more than one substrate is used, one or more substrates can be bound together with a fastening system. Once pressure is applied in the form of weight, the fastening system can be removed, resulting in an improved tank base having at least one seam and impervious to the fluid of the tank battery.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2016Publication date: November 24, 2016Inventors: Larry L.
