Air within the carton will be compressed and exert an internal pressure against the bottom side, which will be blasted outwardly and deformed, before the air escapes through the opening portion. The thickness of such a compressed carton allows twenty empty cartons to be inserted into one, which is 50% more than normal. The pressing plate (1) of the device is hinged between the lower and outer part of the sidewalls, so that a directed pressing plate (1) will do the folding function.

Abstract: A link type transfer press is driven by continuously dwelling the slide in the vicinity of the top dead center thereof with the use of a link mechanism. With this arrangement, a motion index angle of a feeder can be taken by a large degree even though the time required for one cycle of the slide is shortened, and accordingly, the transfer time of the feeder can be set to be substantially longer so that the feed can be fed without interference with the slide. Thus, the entire pressing time can be reduced, thereby enhancing the productivity.

  • Patent number: 6474227
Abstract: With a method of controlling synchronous drive of a plurality of pressing machines, each of the pressing machines has a motor, a drive shaft to which a torque of a flywheel driven by the motor is transmitted through a clutch and a slide driven by the drive shaft so that a rotational position of the drive shaft of each of the pressing machines is synchronous each other. The method has a step of detecting actual velocity information of the motor and a step of detecting actual rotational-position information of the drive shaft. The detected actual rotational-position information is compared with the reference rotational-position information from a reference rotational position information generating section. Based on the result of the comparison, the reference velocity information from a reference velocity information generating section is compensated into characteristic reference velocity information of each of the pressing machines.

Abstract: An electric motor and hydraulic pump/motor are combined on a torque level, a press machine is controlled with controllability of an electric motor, and kinetic energy of a slide is regenerated during braking without constraints of slide pressurization or an amount of energy. A screw press drives a slide through a screw mechanism made up of a drive nut and a driven screw. The drive nut is provided with a ring gear integral therewith and this ring gear is engaged with a gear provided for a drive axis of an electric motor and a gear provided for the drive axis of a hydraulic pump/motor. The hydraulic pump/motor is connected to a constant high pressure source that generates a quasi-constant pressure hydraulic liquid and a low pressure source. This allows the electric motor and hydraulic pump/motor to be combined on a torque level.

Abstract: A detection system is installed into a press piston guiding area for detecting if the piston guiding system has lost its requisite clearance. The detector is installed in a typical press in such a way that when the negatively grounded press piston touches the detector, it discharges the electrical potential between the detector and the piston. Upon contact, a signaling device stops the press, and a fault is indicated. In an alternative embodiment, the detector senses an eddy current when in close proximity to the piston.

Abstract: A method of laser-assisted pressing is used to adjust the pressing position with a laser projector and an impressible element while pressing an opaque object. The apparatus in this invention is characterized by a platform, a pressing unit with at least one press head, and at least one laser projector for projecting a laser beam to form a light area. The press head presses the impressible element to form a pressure mark indicating the pressing position. The light area is then adjusted to match the pressure mark. Finally, the relative positioning of the platform and the pressing unit is adjusted to match the light area with the area to be pressed. Thus the pressing position will be accurate in the pressing process.
