Abstract: A hair clip that opens and closes using an elastic band. The band holds the jaws in an open position (which eliminates the need for the levers) and the band also urges the jaws together to close the clip (eliminating the need for a metal spring). The clip has a length of material that is attached either across its top or around it. Because the jaws have no attached protruding levers for opening and closing them (like the ones in a traditional ‘butterfly’ clip), the length of material lays relatively smooth across the top of the clip, which not only hides the hinge and elastic band (improving the aesthetic appearance of the clip), it makes it possible to decorated the material or add a companies logo thereto.

  • Publication number: 20080163882
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus designed to reduce the length of time it takes to add hair extensions and braid individual braids to a person's head. The present invention requires anchoring hair fibers to a weft creating an apparatus for quickly adding the look of individual braids without requiring one to individually braid strands of a person's hair. Creating this apparatus requires: (1) Braiding individual braids from hair fibers; (2) Using thread to stitch the individual braids together creating a horizontal anchor of Singles stitched together forming an apparatus we'll call a Braided Hair Weft. The present invention is a single apparatus that does not have multiple parts. It requires no preparatory work to make ready to apply to one's head because the individual braids come pre-braided and application is simple requiring a single step which is to sew it onto the cornrows on the client's head.

  • Patent number: 6832614
Abstract: Various embodiments of wefted hair extension attachments include attachment strands extending from the weft edge of the attachment. These attachment strands are braided or intertwined directly into the braids formed in the native hair of the wearer as those braids are being formed, without need for additional sewing and thread, adhesives, or other attachment apparatus. Use of the present hair extensions saves considerable time for both the person who is installing the hair extensions on the wearer, as well as for the wearer. This is due to the combining of the braiding of the wearer's native hair into an attachment braid or braids, and the securing of the hair extension(s) to the braid(s), in a single step, rather than requiring the braids to be formed and then attaching the hair extensions in a subsequent step, as is accomplished conventionally.

Abstract: A method for fabricating a hairpiece includes attaching a plurality of hair wefts to an elastic band. The hair wefts are individually stitched to the elastic band leaving small gaps between adjacent hair wefts. In this fashion the elastic band can still expand after the hair wefts are attached. In a preferred embodiment, some of the hair wefts are double thickness to provide enhanced hair body.

Abstract: A sticker for the application of hair is very easy to apply and very comfortable for the user and it comprises adhesive laminar support, anti allergic and transpiring, having a first side wherein hair is ran into and a second side suitable to be directly adhered on skin. The related manufacturing process comprises the steps of: providing of an adhesive laminar support, anti allergenic and transpiring; providing a quantity of hair in proximity to this laminar support, each hair having an end apt to be run into said laminar support; and generating an electrostatic field at the laminar support so as to positioning said ends against the laminar support, causing them to run into the laminar support.

  • Patent number: 6820625
Abstract: A method of attaching supplemental hair to natural human hair begins with selecting a plurality of strands of human hair growing from a scalp. A supplemental hair bundle includes a plurality of supplemental hair strands previously glued to one another at a glued portion by thermoplastic glue. A joint is formed between the glued portion of the supplemental hair bundle and the selected plurality of strands of human hair. The glued portion is fused using a heating element of an applicator. The heating element may be a heated jaw having a heating channel shaped to receive the glued portion of the bundle. A kneading jaw in opposing relationship to the heating jaw may be used to clamp the human hair and the supplemental hair bundle to mix the fused glue into the strands of human hair.

Abstract: A hair extension system is provided that comprises a tube, which has a central tube opening therethrough. The tube formed of a malleable material, such as copper, capable of being flattened and opened reversibly. A strand of extension hair inserted through the tube opening and affixed to the tube by an attaching means, preferably a strong adhesive, on one side, leaving room to draw existing hair through the tube. The tube is capable of being opened at a later date to permit the tube to be repositioned on the stand of existing hair, closer to the scalp, and recompressed to bind the two strands therein. The tube may be manufactured in colors to match varying shades of existing hair. The system also provides crimping and opening tools for flattening and reversibly opening the hair extension tube.
