Abstract: A method for making a carbon nanotube film includes the following steps. A carbon nanotube array fixed on a substrate holder is provided. A carbon nanotube film is drawn from the carbon nanotube array. A first part of the carbon nanotube film is adhered to a first bar placed on a bar supply device. The carbon nanotube film is stretched by the first bar. A second part of the carbon nanotube film is adhered to a second bar positioned on the bar supply device. A third part of the carbon nanotube film is adhered to a supporting element placed on a carrier device. The third part of the carbon nanotube film is separated from the first part and the second part of carbon nanotube film. The third part of the carbon nanotube film adhered to the supporting element is obtained.

Abstract: The present invention provides a reusable masquerade formed of delicate or fragile material that can be retained to skin surface without straps/bands through a backing and adhesive. Suitable delicate materials may include lace, embroidery, brocade, crochet, netting, fishnet, mesh, tissue paper, sequins, beads, and filigree. The backing is applied to the delicate material by ironing, heating, or melting it on. Suitable backing materials may include vinyl, rubber, and plastic. The periphery of the masquerade comprising the delicate material together with attached backing is precisely cut to at least partially conform to a design on the delicate material and to conform to an anatomy of a target skin surface on which it is placed. The masquerade may be placed on the face with a hole for the eye in it. It can be worn again as the adhesive is easily removed from the backing and skin with conventional means.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for filling vias in a product greensheet and/or repairing vias in a product greensheet. The method and apparatus utilize a transfer greensheet having filled vias in a fixed array, which vias are punched into the product greensheet to either repair or fill the via of the product greensheet. The method and apparatus employ position determining means such as a camera, a punch head and a corresponding punch die and an activating means to activate the punch head to punch the transfer greensheet via to fill the product greensheet via. The transfer greensheet has a fixed array of filled vias and a transfer greensheet station employs a fixed plate having a plurality of vacuum ports positioned in the non-via areas of the transfer greensheet which secures the transfer greensheet during the method. The product greensheet is held by a vacuum plate.

Abstract: A drip pan apparatus for a helicopter includes a frame and a drip pan. The frame is secured to a skirt on the airframe of the helicopter. The apparatus includes a drip pan for cooperation with a frame to cover an access opening to a transmission. The drip pan includes a substantially planar member of a fiber-reinforced composite and has a seal surface that is configured to cooperate with a seal surface of the frame. A seal member may be disposed between the substantially planar member and the frame to form a fluid-tight seal. The fiber-reinforced composite may be a carbon fiber-reinforced composite. A method of making the drip pan apparatus includes placing a plurality of sheets of an uncured fiber-reinforced composite material on one another to form an uncured stack. The uncured stack is then cured. A frame and a drip pan may be cut from the cured stack.

Abstract: The invention relates to a gas processing unit adapted for generating a surface plasma in the vicinity of a photocatalyst, that has a planar configuration. The photocatalyst is deposited in the form of a thin layer on a dielectric substrate and at least one plasma supply electrode is formed above the photocatalyst thin layer. Such a configuration increases the interaction between the plasma and the photocatalyst. The unit can be used for a gas processing of the pollution-control, odour reduction or bactericidal treatment type with a high efficiency.

Abstract: In a method of making a hybrid part, a reinforcement element of fiber composite is placed upon a base member in a press tool. A strip-shaped cover having a resin absorbing absorbent layer is withdrawn from a supply unit and placed in the press tool between the reinforcement element and the press tool. As the base member and the reinforcement element are compressed with one another and joined any resin issuing out from the reinforcement element is absorbed by the absorbent layer of the cover and kept away from soiling the press tool or the base member. After the compression process, the cover is removed.

Abstract: A process for making a plurality of hip, ridge or rake shingles, and the shingles produced thereby and stacks and packages of such shingles are provided. An adhesive impregnated mat is moved longitudinally, and granules are provided onto adhesive, in predetermined bands. An overlay band of adhesive, continuous or discontinuous is provided, with granules thereon, increasing the thickness of the shingle material being made, in predetermined bands, relative to the remainder of the shingle material. The shingle material is slit longitudinally, and one portion can be laminated to another portion, preferably creating a multiple-ply laminated shingle material with thickened overlay portions and optionally with shadow line portions. The material is then slit longitudinally, and cut transversely into a plurality of hip, ridge or rake shingles, which may be individually separated from each other, or which may comprise a plurality of connected together shingles. The shingles are then stacked and wrapped.
