Abstract: A method of fabricating shell purfling strips having sufficient flexibility to be placed within a curved configuration. The shell purfling strips may be placed, as a single unit, in curved channels which require the strip to bend. The flexibility results from a laminated structure comprising a layer of binding material overlain by an organic shell layer, with a bonding agent attaching the layers together. The organic shell layer comprises a plurality of precisely placed breaks along its length. The binding material retains the individual fragments of the shell layer in the strip, but because the binding material comprises a flexible material, such as rubber, the layer of binding material is sufficiently flexible to allow the purfling strip to flex longitudinally and transversely. The shell purfling strips may be attached in parallel relationship to other perfling components allowing installation as a unit.

Abstract: A method for producing multiple devices for securing identification means to a mounting surface includes a mounting device having a upper surface of translucent plastic film having certain regions glued to a substrate of label stock beneath the film. A gap with opening between the label stock and the film forms a pocket into which an identification means may be inserted or removed. The label stock possesses a face having an adhesive coating which is exposed by a peel-away backing. An image area printed on the label stock prior to application of the plastic film overlay is visible through the pocket and up to the outer edges of each mounting device. The device is economically created in multiples using adhesive label stock in either roll or sheet form.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for preparing a bundle of sheet material for transport. The automated apparatus includes a cutting assembly for cutting slats, or spacers, from scrap sheet material, a pick and place assembly for positioning and securing the slats to the underside of a bundle, and a stacking assembly for stacking bundles prior to removal for shipping or storage. The slats, once cut, are automatically placed in guide channels and then positioned beneath the bundle while glue is applied thereto. The glued edges are then automatically pressed against the bundle to secure the slats to the bundle, thereby creating space beneath the bundle to allow a forklift to manipulate the bundles.

Abstract: A method of prefabricating and installing a synthetic turf field includes providing a controlled manufacturing facility with an open area that allows a plurality of turf strips to be laid out on a floor thereof. Visual markings are placed on the floor to allow the individual strips to be properly aligned on the floor. Once aligned, inlays can be placed into the proper strip and then secured. After the inlays have been secured, the strips can be rolled up and appropriately labeled for subsequent installation. After all the strips that will make up the field have been processed and rolled up, the rolls can be taken to the job site so the field can be installed.

The light, radiated from the self-light emitting display element, is filtered and reflected by and concentratedly radiated from a light-reflecting layer overlapped on the light-transmitting bodies of the substrate units, so that the light leakage can be prevented and an external strong light can be shielded by the light-shielding layer overlapped on the light-reflecting layer, the light generated from the self-light emitting display element can be efficiently concentrated, and the phenomenon such as whitening and low image contrast ratio occurred by an external light radiating on a display panel can be improved.

Abstract: A lip substrate applicator kit includes upper and lower applicators adapted to facilitate the application of lip substrates onto the upper and lower lips of a wearer. The lip substrates typically includes an image layer featuring one or more of a variety of colors, graphic designs and text elements. Edges of the applicators may be pre-cut to ensure that the applied substrate presents a symmetrical and clean appearance at the vermillion borders of the wearer's lips. Each applicator includes an adhesive layer, a peel layer and a guide layer. The guide layer has a guide pattern configured to aid a user in trimming excess portions from the applicator generally along a curved pathway, so that the substrate may be customized to fit the lips of the wearer. The kit may include a die cut applicator sheet from which the upper and lower applicators are die cut, suspended and detachable.
