Abstract: Luggage cases that are sized and shaped to be carried on to the passenger compartment of a commercial airplane are called carry-on luggage cases. Cases small enough to fit below the passenger seat 28 immediately in front of the traveler must be very small and compact and generally interfere with comfortable placement of the passenger's feet during travel. The disclosed luggage case 2 includes a tapering reinforced portion 22 of the main packing door 18 on which a passenger may wish to place or rest his or her feet during travel. This main packing door 18 is constructed to bend and open to give access to a specially designed slanting shelf area 12 where a bottled drink 16 or cosmetics can be easily accessed without removing the case 2 from its stowed position beneath the front passenger seat 28.

The kit further includes a carrier or pouch. The pouch includes a plurality of pockets or compartments that are sized and configured to hold the diverse array of items, which are directly related to the patient's post-operative needs. The kit can be worn about the waist or shoulder of an individual, and can add post-operative comfort by taking tension off of an incision and drain entry site and avoiding accidental pulling of the drain or suction bulb.

Abstract: A retractable single luggage handle is disclosed. In one embodiment, the handle includes a hollow handle rod including a recess on the peripheral surface proximate the top of the main piece of luggage in an extended state of the handle rod, and a plate member fitted onto the recess and including a recessed flat aligned with the recess; and a cross member fitted onto the flat by releasably securing to the plate member, the cross member-adapted to rotate about 90 degrees relative to the handle rod to form a cross support which is adapted to stably hold an auxiliary piece of luggage rested on the top of the main piece of luggage while towing the inclined main piece of luggage.

Abstract: Wheeled luggage including an extendable tongue permits use as a hand-truck to transport an additional piece of luggage supported on the extended tongue. The wheeled luggage may be similar to conventional wheeled luggage, but further includes a tongue movable between an inactive and active positions. In the inactive position, the tongue is positioned within a footprint of a bottom of the luggage. In the active position, the tongue extends beyond an outer edge of a bottom of the body to provide supportive structure on which the additional luggage may be placed. The structure of the extendable tongue may have various suitable configurations. A mechanism may be provided for moving the tongue between the inactive and active positions while the user and luggage are in an upright position. An optional strap and/or strap retraction mechanism may be provided to securing the additional luggage.

Abstract: A protective case for a portable or laptop computer is shown. The case is designed to allow use of the computer without the need to remove it from the case. The bottom wall of the case has an attachment mechanism for holding the computer securely in place while the case is open. Angled brackets in the bottom wall and extending upward into the side wall, define a hinge portion of the case. The upper wall of the case includes a display holder for slidably holding the computer display. The display holder holds the top wall of the case to the display while allowing relative motion between the two. A rear access opening in the rear side wall panel allows access to connectors and ports at the rear of the computer so that they can be used while the computer remains in the case. A flap may be coupled to rear access opening, to allow the opening to be securely covered when not in use. A rear vent, covered with a mesh material, may also be incorporated into the rear panel to facilitate air circulation.

Abstract: A rotation-controllable rotary grip assembly includes a shaft affixed to a retractable handle of a luggage, a barrel-like grip sleeved onto and turntable about the shaft, a spring member sleeved onto one extension rod at one end of the shaft and connected between the shaft and the grip for returning the grip to its former position after a rotary motion of the grip relative to the shaft, and a lock for locking the grip to the shaft to prohibit rotation of the grip relative to the shaft.

Abstract: A laptop computer protective bag, including a supportive front wall, a back wall, and a substantially rigid bridge wall that holds the front wall inclined relative to the back wall when the computer is in use resting on the front wall. Flexible side walls form a closed chamber with extremities of the front and rear walls being in close proximity when toe computer is in use, a pair of fans blowing air through the front wall for cooling a bottom surface of the computer, a vent structure permitting the air to flow through the chamber. Also disclosed is a backpack assembly that incorporated the protective bag.

Abstract: A towable, wheeled-backpack includes a towing handle attached to a curved, single-pole, telescoping towing member which retracts into the backpack when not in use. The curvature of the towing member provides support for a backing sheet that is attached to the towing member, and the backing sheet is contoured so that the backpack can be comfortably supported on a wearer's back. A rigid base with wheels is pivotally attached to a bottom end of the towing member. The pivot attachment allows the base and wheels to move independently of the towing member as the bag is worn or as the bag is rolled along the ground.

Abstract: A retractable wheel assembly (110) for a carrier (100) is disclosed wherein the wheels (120) are rotatably mounted in cowls (130), which are pivotably disposed in wheel wells (116L, 116R) on a housing. The cowls are connected with a cowl axle assembly (140) that includes a coil spring, preferably a constant force spring (150) that biases the cowls towards a retracted position. The constant force spring is connected to a retractable handle (104), preferably with a spring engagement member (160), such that extending the retractable handle will bias the cowls towards an extended position, wherein the wheels extend out of the wheel wells for use.

There are three version shapes: a sphere, a sausage and drum, all operating on the same principle. All three versions will be referred to as “spheres.” The end-user can open them like a suitcase. The outer shell rolls along the ground while the inner shell rests inside the outer shell. There are ball bearings between the inner and outer shells. Two axles, at both axes, connect the inner and outer shells. The inner shell has a weighted bottom that causes it to stay upright as it is rolling. A seal at the equator makes it watertight. An external horseshoe-shaped harness connects both axis of the Pillbug sphere. A telescoping handle connects to the harness apex so the user can pull it.

Abstract: A device which can prevent a pull rod of suitcase from being automatically ejected out includes a counter weight which is installed in an inner lining of the pull rod. The counter weight is emplaced in a middle section of a frame slot of sliding rod. If the suitcase is fallen on a ground when a push button on a handle bar of pull rod is not pressed down, a blocking rod at one end of the counter weight will be automatically extended out of a concaved hole of an outer cover to retain a positioning block, so as to prevent the pull rod from being automatically ejected out due to an inadvertent condition.

Abstract: Luggage of the pull-along type comprises a container, a sleeve fixed to the container, and a telescopic tube mounted in a sliding fashion in the sleeve between a retracted position, and a deployed position. The luggage further includes a resilient element interposed between the tube and the sleeve, designed to allow the tube to be pushed into the sleeve beyond the retracted position against a restoring force exerted on the tube by the resilient member.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a case product, and in particular, a combined golf equipment case that is easy to be conveyed and packaged. The combined golf equipment case comprises a cover and a base, which are connected by at least one detachable/combinable pivoting device provided on one side of the cover and the opposing side of the base. When the cover and the base are combined with the pivoting device, the cover can be lifted up from the base. When the cover and the base are separated by detaching the pivoting device, the cover, after detached and reversed, can be stacked on the inside of the base. At least one drawbolt lock for locking the cover and the base is provided on the other sides of the cover and the base that are opposite to the sides where the pivoting device is provided, so as to avoid unwittingly opening the cover and the base.

Abstract: A wheeled luggage case (1) has a single telescoping handle arm assembly (10) and a cantilevered handle grip (11) which is rotatably attached to the top end (13) of the handle arm assembly, such that the plane of rotation of the grip is approximately parallel to the rolling direction of the luggage case. The cantilevered handle grip (11) rotates from a position approximately perpendicular to the telescoping handle arm assembly (10) to a position approximately 30° below the horizontal, and a resilient element is provided which urges the grip to rotate downwardly while in use. The invention provides an ergonomically comfortable wheeled luggage case by allowing the user to grasp the grip in a natural position and, simultaneously, increasing the amount of leverage available to prevent the luggage case from tipping over when it is rolled over uneven ground. Further, the resilient element distributes the weight of the luggage case evenly across the user's hand.

Abstract: A portable wardrobe storage and changing device that allow the user to easily transport uniforms and costumes to a performance site and then convert the device into a private changing station. The device includes a rigid internal frame with a lower frame and a perpendicularly aligned upward extending frame member. Attached to the lower frame are two wheels that allow the device to be manually pulled over a flat surface. Extending around the frame is a four-sided flexible bag with an adjustable upper lid. The bag also includes a first vertical slide connector and a second horizontal slide connector that allows the bag to selectively opened or closed. Disposed between the lid and the flexible bag is a slide connector that allows three edges of the lid to be selectively detached from the bag. When the three slide connectors are detached, the lid may be lifted and the two side panels and the two front panel sections maybe opened and extended to form a changing station.

When the flap is in a first position extending outwardly from said end bottom edges, it forms an area adapted to receive hanging garments. Attachment means is provided to selectively attach the distal portion onto another portion of the strip to encircle the article whereby attempted removal of the attachment will be evidenced by the band. The tamper evidencing band may be provided as a flat strip with the loop unformed. Alternatively, the tamper evidencing band may be provided in kit form with a separate buckle to define the loop.

Abstract: The sports equipment bag of the present invention is capable of assuming three configurations: a hang-up, a stand-up, and a transport configuration. It comprises two compartments, with partitions and pockets for equipment and items of clothing. The compartments are connected by a connecting strip, to accommodate moving the compartments to and from each other between the transport configuration and the hang-up configuration. Fastening means on one compartment engage fastening means on the other compartment, to secure the compartments in either the transport configuration or the stand-up configuration. Each compartment comprises a frame, sufficiently rigid to render the bag stable in the stand-up configuration. Rear and front panels of the compartments, as well as partitions and pockets, are manufactured of open texture material, to facilitate ventilation and drying of items carried in the bag. In one embodiment, one of the compartments comprises a pair of wheels and a retractable handle.

Abstract: An apparatus for transporting clothing comprising a wheeled suitcase and a detachable garment bag. The garment bag is adapted to wrap around outside panels of the suitcase and is held snuggly against the suitcase by a fastener system including connectively interlocking clips or the like. Auxiliary hook and loop strips ensure that the garment bag is securely held on the suitcase. The wheeled suitcase, in its generally upright position, includes an upper end and lower end. The upper end has an opening free of the wrapped garment bag affording ready access. Corners of the suitcase are rounded to facilitate gentle wrapping such that clothing within the garment bag is not subject to folding or wrinkling. The suitcase is slightly smaller than the size limited by airline regulations for carry-on luggage. Thus, when wrapped with the unique garment bag, the combined suitcase and garment bag will not exceed regulations.

An adjustable hanger strap or straps are provided so that the carrier can be used on cases having different sizes, shapes and thicknesses. The particular slot used depends on the shape and size of the case. The carrier has one or more compartments for storing articles placed therein, with the carrier draping over one of the sides while being transported about as a single unit by virtue of the case carry handle. On retraction of the handle into the case, the arm or arms are pivoted to a position parallel to the tube section. The collar and L-shaped arms move with the outer tube section into and out of the luggage case.

Abstract: The present invention provides airline travelers with a method of determining baggage weight compliance while traveling, prior to having baggage rejected or additional fees assessed at the baggage check counter at the airport. In a first aspect, a scale is disclosed that comprises first and second attachment points, wherein the scale indicates a relative force applied to the attachment points. In a second aspect, a scale is disclosed which comprises two independent attachment points wherein the scale can display the total force applied to the attachment points.
