  • Publication number: 20100126819
Abstract: A wave spring holding structure includes a wave spring that includes crest portions and recessed portions that are alternately formed in a circumferential direction thereof, and a first gap; a circular member provided to be rotatable around an axis; and an arc-shaped snap ring that includes a second gap, and that restricts movement of the circular member in a direction of the axis. The wave spring and the snap ring share the axis with the circular member. The wave spring and the snap ring are rotatable with respect to each other. The wave spring is disposed and held between the circular member and the snap ring so that the crest portions protrude toward the circular member, and the recessed portions protrude toward the snap ring. The first gap is formed in one of the crest portions.

Abstract: A torque transmitting apparatus includes a cover portion generally defined by a first axis. The cover portion includes a plurality of adjustment apertures. The apparatus also includes a flywheel coupled to the cover portion for rotation therewith, wherein the flywheel is restrained from axial movement relative to the cover portion. The apparatus also includes a pressure plate coupled to the cover portion for rotation therewith. The pressure plate is axially moveable relative to the cover portion. The apparatus also includes a clutch disk at least partially interposed between the flywheel and the pressure plate. The apparatus also includes a plurality of first members extending between the pressure plate and the cover. Each first member exerts a biasing outward radial force on the adjustment aperture to resist axial movement therebetween. A portion of the first member exerts a biasing axial force on the pressure plate thereby biasing the pressure plate toward the flywheel.

  • Publication number: 20100038204
Abstract: A transmission braking system includes a vehicle drive train and at least one hydraulic motor. The hydraulic motor includes a front shaft and a rear shaft. The rear shaft has an anti-rotation element. An engagement mechanism is slidably affixed to the vehicle drive train, and selectively couples with the anti-rotation element to militate against a rotation of the front and rear shafts. A four-wheel locking system is also provided. The four wheel locking system includes a shaft-coupling engagement mechanism slidably affixed to one of the hydraulic motors. The shaft-coupling engagement mechanism selectively couples with the anti-rotation elements of the motors for allowing a summing of the output torque. The transmission braking system and the four-wheel locking system may be provided in a combined system.

  • Patent number: 7611204
Abstract: A rotary adjustment mechanism is provided. The rotary adjustment mechanism has a first member, a second member, a first gear, a second gear, a locking gear, a spring, and a release. The first gear is rotationally attached to the first member. The second member is pivotally attached to the first member. The second gear is rotationally attached to the second member. The locking gear is moveable from a first position coupling the first gear with the second gear to a second position decoupling the first gear with the second gear. The spring biases the locking gear towards the first position. The release is coupled to the locking gear and selectively moves the locking gear to the second position.

  • Publication number: 20080276466
Abstract: An ambidextrous spill-resistant spoon includes a handle portion carrying a spoon bowl portion. The spoon bowl is rotational relative to the handle portion and depends below the handle portion to self-level rather as a pendulum seeks the vertical. But, the spoon bowl is clutched non-rotationally to the handle portion during a scooping motion to load the spoon with food. As soon as the scooping motion is completed by clearing of the spoon bowl from the food, the bowl portion is unclutched from the handle portion and becomes freely pivotal so as to remain level as a user moves the loaded spoon toward the user's mouth.

  • Patent number: 6967302
Abstract: A spring-loaded operating mechanism for a high-voltage circuit-breaker comprises, between a motor and a trigger shaft, a freewheel-type coupling device which comprises first and second friction members (5, 6) coaxially mounted on a secondary shaft (1). The first friction member (5) is screwed onto the secondary shaft (1) and the second friction member can freewheel about the secondary shaft (1) while being disposed between the first member and an axial abutment (8). The two members (5, 6) are substantially in abutment one against the other along the secondary shaft (1), and the first member is screwed or is unscrewed along the secondary shaft depending on whether it is rotated by the shaft or by the second member. The device does not require any greasing; it operates without maintenance. In addition, the forces exerted by one friction member on the other are low, thereby improving the reliability of the operating mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20030029689
Abstract: The invention concerns a device (1) comprising a rigid rod (50) mobile in a translational and/or rotational movement, whereof one end penetrates inside a recess (30b) of a piston (30) and is fixed (60) by a swivel to the recess (30b) of the piston directly or via an insert (60), said insert being then mounted inside the recess (30b) of the piston (30), and means (70) for axially locking the rod (50) or the insert (60) relative to the piston (30). The invention is characterised in that said locking means (70) comprise a stop (32) borne by the piston (30) to provide axial locking along a direction corresponding to the mounting direction of the rod in the piston, and a washer (72) borne by the insert (60) or the rod (50), said washer (72) having peripheral fins (76) elastically deformable in the radial direction being pressed against the inner wall of the recess (30b) of the piston (30) by being deformed to lock the insert or the rod in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 6497315
Abstract: Modified friction pad and friction-pad receptale assembly for a brake/clutch module permitting greater ease inserting pad into and withdrawing it from the brake/clutch module. The pad is held into the receptacle by clips at the distal end of the receptacle rather than the proximal end. That configuration, in conjunction with finger-grip depressions near the proximal end of the pad, allow the pad to be removed with one hand. Additionally, the friction pad assembly protects the torque-resistor pad guides from wear by interposing the spring steel of the retaining clips between the pad assembly and these guides.

  • Publication number: 20020100656
Abstract: Modified friction pad and friction-pad receptacle assembly for a brake/clutch module permitting greater ease in the friction pad's insertion into and withdrawal from the brake/clutch module. The improved ease is achieved by inverting the pad/receptacle coupling with respect to earlier designs, so that the pad is now held into the receptacle by clips at the distal end of the receptacle rather than the proximal end. That configuration in conjunction with finger-grip depressions near the proximal end of the pad allow the pad to be removed with one hand. This is due in part because of the way the clips of the present invention work so as to prevent the pad from falling out under the force of gravity but nevertheless yield to the slightly greater force applied by the operator desiring to remove the pad. Additionally, the present invention provides protection against wear for the torque-resistor pad guides by interposing the spring steel of the retaining clips between the pad assembly and these guides.

  • Patent number: 6402073
Abstract: A position is added to the drag lever travel in a lever drag reel; which position is called the “strip” drag position; and which is positioned just above the free spool position. At this position, an additional detent is added, splitting the original steep cam rise into two sections to provide a light drag setting before achieving free spool; thus preventing the operator from accidentally placing the drag lever into a free spool condition.
