Abstract: A sealing member or inner seal for a sealing to a rim of a container is described herein that is capable of initially providing sealing for the container and subsequently for providing a dispenser or dispensing feature having a cleanly formed opening or other passage therethrough for dispensing container contents. The sealing members or inner seals herein are constructed from flexible sheets or laminates defining one or more integrated or preformed dispensing feature(s) or element(s) for dispensing contents from the container. The one or more integrated dispensing feature(s) or element(s) are initially covered on both sides to be exposed for use upon removal of a portion of the sealing member.

Abstract: A tamper-evident container having a tamper-evident structure that indicates to a user when the container has been previously opened or otherwise tampered with. The container can include a body and a lid, where the lid is snap fit into a recess of the body. Based on the snap-fit, the lid is difficult or impossible to remove from the body without activating the tamper-evident structure. The tamper-evident structure can remain at least partially attached to the lid or body to thereby indicate to a user that the container has been opened or otherwise tampered with.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a stopper including: an outer cap having an upper surface with a discharge hole and a side extending downward from the outer edge of the upper surface; and an inner cap having a cylindrical body and a protrusion and combined with the outer cap, in which the protrusion has an inclined surface extending upward from the lower edge of the body toward the center and a plurality of inlet/outlet holes formed around the inclined surface, and a container having the stopper. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a stopper that makes it possible to discharge a desired amount of liquid substance by removing slosh generated when the liquid substance is discharged out of a container, and a container having the stopper.

It has an opening region or a closure cover (11), bounded by a peripheral tear-open notch (4), and a lever member intended for breaking through the tear-open notch. Adjacent to the tear-open notch (4), the outer rim of the closure cover (11) is non-positively connected to a collar part (5) of a first plastics material. The collar part is assigned a cover receiving part (10), of a second plastics material, which is outside the opening region and adjacent to the tear-open notch and is non-positively connected to the cover area, wherein the collar part engages over the cover receiving part. Formed between the collar part (5) and the cover receiving part (10) is a sealing snap-in locking connection with a peripheral domed rib and a complementarily formed recess. A pull tab (15) is fastened to the fixing region of the collar part radially outside the cover receiving part.

The tube portion includes a polymer tubed layer secured to a portion of the top surface of the support layer of the bottom laminate sheet and a tubed tab portion formed integrally with the polymer tubed layer and secured to a portion of the adhesive layer of the top laminate sheet.

An open mouth surrounds the receiving area. A cap closure is arranged over the open mouth. The cap closure includes a fitment engageable around the mouth and a lid hingedly connected to the fitment. The plastic membrane is integrally molded with the cap closure and sealingly prevents leakage from the receiving area. The membrane includes a minor area non-frangibly attached to the fitment having a V-shaped outer border with sections of the border converging to a pivot point, and a major area tangibly attached along its perimeter to the fitment and to the V-shaped outer border. A pull tab is formed on a surface of the membrane at the pivot point.

The outer ridge area includes a first ridge side, a ridge top, and a second ridge side. The first ridge side extends generally upward from the interior portion. The ridge top extends from the first ridge side and is generally parallel to the interior portion. The second ridge side extends generally downward from the ridge top. The second ridge side includes a top section and a bottom section. A thickness of the bottom section is smaller than a thickness of the top section. The bottom section includes at least one fixed tab and at least one tear band. The at least one fixed tab is separated from the at least one tear band by at least one vertical membrane.

Abstract: A tamper-evident tab construction for a thermoformed package. In one embodiment, the package includes top and bottom parts with overlapping tabs. The top and bottom parts may include locking tabs that interlock with one another and provide a structure for holding the package while it is being opened. The top part may also include a pull tab located proximate the locking tabs. The pull tab is configured to provide a structure for pulling the top part away from the bottom part to open the package. The pull tab may be joined to the top part by a small land of material that is configured to deform when the package is opened. As a result, the pull tab may remain at an angle after opening to provide a visual indication that the package may have been opened or tampered with.

Abstract: A closure for glass and polycarbonate bottles. The closure is the press-on and pull off type, i.e., it is unthreaded. The closure has a down-outwardly extending rib on the underside of the lid that forms a seal on the upwardly and outwardly facing surface of the neck of the bottle. The closure has a removable tamper indicating ring connected to the lower portion of the skirt of the closure by a reduced-thickness tear strip. In one embodiment, slits are formed in the tear strip to further increase the sensitivity of the tear strip to tampering. Between the slits, links in the tear strip act to hold the ring in connection with the lower portion of the skirt.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a full aperture beverage end (14) having a centre panel (30), a countersink (22) surrounding the centre panel (30), a main score (50) arranged in proximity to the countersink (22) to define a removeable aperture panel (54) and a vent score (46). The beverage end (14) is adapted for use with products that are pressurised to over 30 psi (207 kPa) when opened, and during opening the vent score (46) is adapted to sever first, controlling the pressure differential between the external surface and internal surface of the centre panel (30), thereby allowing the main score (50) to tear in a controlled and reliable manner.

Abstract: A safety bottle cap for preventing damage from anti-burglary tearing flanges has an opening, a cover and a two-layer tear ring between the opening and the aperture on the cover. A lower stop flange is protruded on the lower section of the opening. An upper stop flange is located at a spacing with the lower stop flange. A hooking edge is protruded on the inner side of the aperture. The tear ring has upper and lower rings, ribs arranged to link the rings, an outward flange protruded on exterior of the upper ring, an upper abutting edge protruded on the inner side of the upper ring and a lower abutting edge protruded on the inner side of the lower ring. The safety bottle cap allows the cover to be opened smoothly without spurs on the aperture, thus realizing anti-burglary identification and improving protection against mouth injury.

Abstract: A sealed foil pouch has a textured opening flange and includes first and second foil sheets having opposing inner surfaces joined together by a seal for defining a sealed area of the pouch located inside the seal and an unsealed area of the pouch located outside the seal. The sealed pouch includes a textured opening flange located adjacent an edge of the pouch for peeling the first and second foil sheets away from one another for breaking the seal and opening the sealed pouch. The textured opening flange is located within the unsealed area of the pouch and includes at least one roughened surface formed on at least one of the first and second sheets. A leg of the seal passes through the textured opening flange. The roughened surface makes it easier to break the leg of the seal for pulling the sheets apart.

The mold for forming the lid includes cavities that define flow channels that permit the lid material to flow through bridge cavities to fill the cavities in the mold during formation of the lid such that the lid base, the cover portion, and the tear strip portion are the single integral component.

Abstract: The present invention is a tamper evident closure for containers. The tamper evident closure is a perforated strip that is releasably attached to lids on the base. When the lid of the closure is opened, the strip is torn from the lids, thereby indicating that the item has been tampered with. The invention is manufactured to be employed on commonly available containers for food and personal care items.

Abstract: Heat-sealable seal including a support bonded to an inner seal by a temporary adhesive is provided. The inner seal has a pull-tab which is folded back once on the surface of the inner seal in contact with the corresponding surface of the support. The inner seal includes a laminate having a reinforcing layer and a sheet of a conducting material, to the lower surface of which is applied a heat-sealing film. The temporary adhesive is applied to the whole surface of the inner seal once the pull-tab is folded back. The seal is characterized in that the laminate has over its entire thickness a notch from which the pull-tab emerges, and a fold line formed by the pull-tab once the pull-tab is folded back, the fold line having a shorter length than the length of the notch. Methods of producing the seal are also disclosed.

The second wall member includes an access window formed by a pair of elongated frangible lines and an access slit. The access slit is located at one end of each of the frangible lines. The window is arranged to be opened by a user grasping portions of the second wall member at the access slit to break the frangible lines and thereby provide access to the item of merchandise.

A signal tab is hinged to the base and has a tubular projection which folds over the lid and is received in a friction fit with a downwardly extending lid projection. After the container is filled with product, the signal tab is pressed into place on the lid and lies flat. In order to open the lid the signal tab is pulled up, thereby severing a perforated line extending around the lid projection, and separating the lid projection from the lid which prevents the signal tab from again engaging with the lid, thereby serving as an indicator to a customer that the package has been opened.

The rotary slide lid may be rotated into a position in which the outlet opening in the lid is hermetically sealed.

Abstract: A server lid for a container with an integral tear strip tamper evident feature is presented. A tear strip for the tamper evident feature is molded as an adjunct to a base member which forms the closure. The tear strip is joined to the base by at least one frangible web, and hinges about the frangible web to overlie front edges of one or more flaps formed in the server lid. Ultrasonic welds connect the overlying tear strip to the flaps or adjacent the flaps for providing a tamper evident feature. The shape of the server lid provides stackability in that the base rim of the container will fit over the upper portion of the lid, including frangible webs to allow interfitting of one container bottom with the container closure of the next, to allow the containers to be stacked on a shelf without substantial danger of slipping or tipping.

One end of the pull tab has a grip handle, and the other end has a puncturing nose. The pull tab is turnable on the anchor structure, and thus also turnable with respect to the closure lid. The pull tab is of a length whereby it normally just fits between the opposite locations of a peripheral groove on the closure lid. The pull tab can be manually turned from a first position overlying the closure lid, to a second position wherein it overhangs one part of the peripheral groove. The construction thus provides an extended handle length to permit the user to more easily grasp and raise the pull tab, and open the container, for use.

Abstract: A tamper evident cap adapted to close an opening on a vessel includes a main body having an outer circumference, a pull tab extending from the main body, and a flange, forms an annulus around the main body and connected to the main body. The flange includes an outer circumference that is larger than the outer circumference of the main body. It is essential to the present invention that the flange is made of a very thin layer of material. In addition, the flange includes at least a pair of perforation lines. Further, the present invention includes a bump in the pull-tab for enabling a person grasping the pull-tab, to obtain a firmer hold thereon.
