The method consists of the step of injection molding an outer preform from a molten first resin, and the next step of injection molding an inner preform inside the outer preform, using a molten second resin. The method further has the final step of blow molding a parison composed of the outer and inner preforms so as to form each laminated bottle. The second resin has a melting point lower than that of the first resin, nevertheless and contrarily to the prior art, precise parisons affording satisfactory lamination can now be prepared by the injection molding steps. In addition, ventilation holes are formed in the outer layer readily and surely without damaging the inner layer.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2001Date of Patent: November 18, 2003Assignee: Taisei Kako Co., Ltd.Inventors: Keiji Hamamoto, Hirokazu Mihashi

Patent number: 6646767Abstract: A rotating shaft coupling has a plurality of rotating-shaft-coupling-members. One of the rotating-shaft-coupling-members is multi-layered by a coupler connecting a shaft thereto, an elastic body and an inertia body which has a mass activating a torsion load in a rotating direction when the elastic body is rotating. A plurality of the rotating-shaft-coupling-members are assembled into the rotating shaft coupling. By this construction, transmission of the vibration from a motor side to a driven side can be effectively suppressed.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2000Date of Patent: November 11, 2003Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takao Araki, Junichi Suematsu, Kosuke Takaki

Patent number: 6635143Abstract: A token is manufactured using a combination of minting or casting operations and printing operations. The token comprises a metal base material that is minted or cast to the size and shape desired including embossed or debossed areas at selected locations on the token. In selected recessed or countersunk portions of the token, there are provided thin disks of material capable of carrying printed material such as single-colored or multi-colored pictures or indicia. The imprinted disk portions of the token are covered with a first protective coating and, optionally a second protective coating, that eliminates wear and tear on the printed areas of the token. Additionally or alternatively, the entire token can be covered with an outer coating to minimize wear and tear and preserve the unique designs carried by the token.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2002Date of Patent: October 21, 2003Assignee: Independence Mint, Inc.Inventors: Stanley Zurawski, Scott Martin, James Warren

Patent number: 6623684Abstract: A sealing gasket for a hard disc drive unit is made by molding an annular sealing member over an annular metal plate. The mold is, provided with an annular cavity and gatings to the cavity including sprue gates and film gates. The gatings are arranged radially outwardly of the cavity to ensure that any flashes or burrs resulting from the presence of the gatings are situated radially outwardly of the sealing member.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1999Date of Patent: September 23, 2003Assignee: NOK CorporationInventors: Norikazu Satoh, Masayuki Kishimoto

Patent number: 6623677Abstract: A process for making a decorated article is described. The process entails printing, using a high temperature ink, a design on a surface of transfer paper, and transferring the design by sublimation to the surface of a clear flat substrate to obtain a decorated substrate. The thus decorated surface is then placed in a mold and thermoplastic resin is injected to form an article. The placing of the decorated substrate in the mold is such that the surface carrying the design faces the inside of the mold. An additional embodiment entails forming the decorated substrate to attain a three dimensional decorated substrate prior to placing it in the mold.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2000Date of Patent: September 23, 2003Assignee: Bayer CorporationInventors: Stephen G. Patent number: 6620371Abstract: A method is provided for manufacturing a painted plastic component having a badge, emblem or other ornamentation, such as air bag covers having a badge, or wherein the component is the badge itself. The method includes providing a painted film sheet and a one-piece thermoplastic elastomeric structural carrier. A bottom contact surface of the film sheet bonds with a front contact surface of the structural carrier by diffusion between the contact surfaces thereof within a mold cavity of an injection mold separate from the mold cavity of a vacuum mold which is utilized to vacuum-mold the film sheet to form the desired painted plastic component.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2000Date of Patent: September 16, 2003Assignee: Patent Holding CompanyInventors: Larry J.
