  • Patent number: 7269891
Abstract: A system provides a zero interconnection height in a board-to-board interconnect while maintaining efficient space allocation for multiple axis connections by providing a floating connection in one plane thereby enabling a connection in another plane. A first circuit board having a first plurality of through-holes is aligned with a second circuit board having a second plurality of through-holes so that the first plurality of through-holes is matched with the second plurality of through-holes. An interconnection height of zero is provided between the first circuit board and the second circuit board. At least one pass-through socket, which includes pass-through socket through-holes, is aligned with the combination of the first circuit board and second circuit board. One or more pins disposed on a pin header are inserted through the pass-through socket, the first circuit board, and the second circuit board.

  • Patent number: 7249410
Abstract: A system for splicing together heavy duty electric cables, especially underground cables, consisting of a static friction block and a clamping friction block located on ends of cables to be spliced. A block and tackle mechanism is interposed between the friction block and the clamping block to provide a force to move various elements on the cables to various and final predetermined locations to make up the splice. The block and tackle mechanism has a wind-up spool thereon to wind-up ends of cords of the block and tackle mechanism. The wind-up spool provides the necessary force to accomplish the move of the various elements.

  • Patent number: 7243414
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for gripping and transferring a ring of electrical conductors in the form of pins which are used to produce a winding, such as a pin winding. The gripping device (C) is designed to seize the ring from a first element, such as a ring-forming element, and to transfer same into a second element (B), such as an element used to insert the ring into the member that supports the winding to be produced. The inventive device comprises a control cone (19) which can be moved axially inside a frame (13) for contact with levers (15) which are pivot mounted to the frame, such that the levers pivot when the cone is moved. The winding-production system is characterized in that it comprises an autonomous gripping and transfer device (C) which can be separated from the above-mentioned first and second elements (B) and which can be positioned on same in a pre-determined reference position. The invention can be used to produce a stator for an electrically-rotating machine.

  • Patent number: 7213328
Abstract: A system and method are provided for arranging and mounting a plurality of connectors on a substrate in a rectangular or square configuration. The system involves the provision of a rectangular mounting frame having four elongated sides joined at four corners, with engagement means at each corner on one face of the frame. Four elongated connectors are assembled to the one face of the frame respectively along the four elongated sides thereof. The four connectors have complementary engagement means at opposite ends thereof for interengagement with the engagement means at the four corners of the frame to hold the connectors on the frame. A flat surface at the center of the frame may be used to apply suction to manipulate the frame to position the connectors on the substrate. A plurality of terminals are mounted on each connector for electrical connection to appropriate conductors on the substrate, whereafter the mounting frame can be disengaged and removed from the connectors.
