After the initial manufacturing the material temperature is elevated above the transition temperature and the material is stretched on a mandrel to retain its inside dimension as its outside dimension is reduced to size that will allow running the seal to a desired subterranean location without failing the material during the stretching. The material is allowed to cool below the transition temperature to hold the new shape. The material on the mandrel is then secured to a tubular string and delivered to the desired location. Wellbore fluid at given temperature raises the material again above the transition temperature, which causes the material to revert to its originally manufactured shape.

A stiffener is radially interior the flexible fluid conveyance tube. A first crimp extends radially interior from the interior surface of the exterior casing. A first annular retention device extends radially between the flexible fluid conveyance tube and the exterior casing and engages the first crimp. A gasket is disposed axially between the first annular retention device and a second annular retention device. A second crimp extends radially interior from the interior surface of the exterior casing and engages the second annular retention device. The second crimp secures the gasket between the first and second annular retention devices such that the gasket forms a fluid tight seal between the flexible fluid conveyance tube and the exterior casing.

    Abstract: A system and method for wastewater treatment using ultraviolet (UV) irradiation of wastewater flowing in a treatment chamber. Wastewater to be treated flows into the first UV exposure chamber where it is exposed to UV illumination. Wastewater exposure time is lengthened by channeling the wastewater to first flow down a first UV exposure chamber and then back up through a second UV exposure chamber both of which are in a single structure. The first and second UV exposure chambers are separated by the UV illumination source so that wastewater on the two sides of the UV illumination source (i.e. both UV exposure chambers) cannot mix, and so that UV illumination time is dictated by the flow rate of the wastewater and the length of the UV illumination source.
