Patent number: 11338463Abstract: A conduit cutting assembly is comprised of a conduit cutting surface, a drive shaft, a top shield and a bottom guide. The conduit cutting assembly is inserted into a rotary device which provides a torque to rotate the conduit cutting assembly. The shield glides along the top surface of the conduit preventing deeper penetration of the cutting surface and deflecting dust as conduit is cut. The guide is positioned on the internal side of the conduit and prevents the cutting surface from contacting encased wiring. The distance between the bottom surface of the shield and the top surface of the guide is closely aligned to the conduit wall thickness. Conduit cutting assemblies can be customized for conduit material and conduit wall thickness. The conduit cutting assembly safely cuts through conduit without damaging encased wiring, limits incidental contact with the cutting surface, and limits contact with dust generated through the cutting procedure.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2020Date of Patent: May 24, 2022Inventor: Michael Rawlings

The cutting blade is operated with the driven motor to cut a workpiece, and the air duct allows cooling air generated by a cooling fan for the motor to be blown out onto a cutting place of the workpiece. The dust collecting channel has an opening at one end for serving as a dust collecting port located near the cutting place and an opening at the other end for permitting coupling of a dust collecting nozzle. The shutter member is movable between a closed position and an open position of the air duct and located in the open position in a normal state.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2011Date of Patent: August 26, 2014Assignee: Makita CorporationInventors: Syuji Aoyama, Kenta Niwa

Publication number: 20140123498Abstract: A weed trimmer extension device for cutting and collecting, or dispersing weeds includes a cutting enclosure, to which can be attached a collecting bag or a cutting disperser. The weed trimmer extension device can be attached to a standard weed trimmer with common fastening components. The cutting enclosure covers a cutting implement, which propels the cuttings, contained and directed by the cutting enclosure, into either the collecting bag or the cutting disperser, which disperses the weed cuttings over an area to the side. A cutting implement can include a cutting blade and a cutting string, so that the cutting string has a greater cutting radius, to allow the cutting string to operate close to an obstruction, without the cutting blade potentially causing damage to the obstruction. Also disclosed is a weed trimmer with a cutting enclosure, to which can be attached either a collecting bag or a cutting disperser.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2014Publication date: May 8, 2014Inventor: Charles Raphael Grande
