  • Patent number: 7880355
Abstract: An electromagnetically variable transmission includes an outer rotor and an inner rotor. The inner rotor is independently rotatable within a center aperture of the outer rotor. The outer rotor is independently rotatable about the inner rotor. One of the rotors has a plurality of permanent magnets configured in pairs and facing an air gap disposed between the outer rotor and the inner rotor. The other rotor has a plurality of slots spaced about a magnetically permeable core having embedded windings. The outer inner rotors are simultaneously rotatable in one direction. In response to rotation of the outer rotor portion and the inner rotor portion, a magnetic flux path is generated between the permanent magnet pairs, the air gap, the outer rotor core and the inner rotor portion core, to induce electrical power in the windings, which transfers power between the inner rotor portion and the outer rotor portion.

Abstract: Magnetic gearboxes comprising an inner rotor and an outer rotor are known with pole members between them. However, these gearbox arrangements generally have a fixed gear ratio between the rotors. By provision of pole members with coils between them and associated switches to adjust the magnetic flux modulation capacity between the rotors it is possible to create open circuit, closed circuit and variable impedance configurations which will relatively passively adjust the magnetic flux modulation capacity or by presenting a voltage to the coils or drawing a voltage from the coils to more actively adjust the magnetic flux modulation capacity across the arrangement. In such circumstances a wider range of gear ratios is achieved as well as the capability with regard to localised electrical power generation through the gearbox arrangement or electro magnetic braking achieved upon the gear box as required.

With the construction, torque transmit load between the rotary shafts via the synchronization gears is decreased, and a plastic gear or gears can be adopted for synchronization gears without reducing life of the gears without need for lubrication oil.

Abstract: A driving assembly of camera shutter and diaphragm comprises a first stator, a second stator, a coil set and a rotor. The coil set is installed between the first stator and second stator. A first wing is axially extended from a round periphery of the first stator and a second wing is axially extended from a round periphery of the second stator. Each of the first stator and second wing is a round cambered sheet. In assembly the first stator and second wing are formed as a space for receiving the rotor; thus the rotor is driven to rotate by the magnetic force of the first wing and second wing so as to drive the diaphragm and shutter. Each of the first wing and second wing has a plurality of parts which are formed around the respective stator and are spaced with an equal spaced.

Abstract: An energy producing magnetic converter is provided that outputs both electrical and mechanical energy. The converter includes a controller assembly rotatably secured between a plurality of field coil assemblies and a plurality of magnets. During a rotation of the controller assembly between the plurality of field coil assemblies and the plurality of magnets, electric current is generated in wire coils of the field coil assemblies, and counter-magnetic fields are induced around the wire coils. A pole of each counter-magnetic field is formed on the controller assembly, and counterforce present between magnetic fields of the plurality of magnets and the counter-magnetic fields cause and maintain forward rotational motion in the energy producing magnetic converter. Accordingly, because the forward rotational motion is maintained in the presence of sufficient counterforce, the magnetic converter outputs torque in addition to the electric current, thereby increasing an efficiency of the magnetic converter.

Abstract: A mass magnifier is created by combining the properties of permanent magnets or electromagnets with the property of mu-metal to create a novel energy storage device. In a system mu-metal is placed in the magnetic field created by a magnet or electromagnetic in a manner to provide an energy storage device, similar to a fly wheel. The system includes a set of magnets arranged in a circle around a cylinder in a stationary position, effectively forming a stator. Another set of opposing magnets are arranged to form a rotor. When the rotor is rotated, mu-metal material is inserted between the rotor and stator magnets in a manner so that the rotor will remain in motion in a desired rotation direction, even if an opposing force is applied to the rotor axle. The system, thus, forms an energy storage device similar to a fly wheel. The system can also provide energy storage for conventional machines or for smaller micro-technology or nano-technology type devices.

Abstract: The present invention aims to alleviate a power loss possibly occurring when a power is transmitted from a driving side to a driven side using attraction/repulsion of magnets and to amplify (improve a joggle mechanism effect) an output. A pair of inner magnets coupled to a driven side is located between a pair of outer magnets coupled to a driving side so as to face the pair of outer magnets 1 in non-contact relationship with the outer magnets 1. Rotation of the outer magnets 1 coupled to the driving side causes the inner magnet 2 coupled to the driven side to reciprocate. Each of the magnets 1 and 2 has a rod-like shape and the magnets 1 coupled to the driving side are respectively rotated around longitudinal centers of the respective rode shaped magnets 1.
