Patent number: 6684519Abstract: It is a miter saw table that has adjustable measuring tapes. The tape sections can be calibrated so that the zero point on the tape is always set at the outer surface of the blade. This is done by using slidable wings that can be secured to a base. Patent number: 6449864Abstract: A longitudinal gage fixture extends the entire length of the cutting blade and provides positively locked, parallel surfaces that uniformly and reliably set the proper height of the gage blade along its length while in a blade holder, In use, the device requires no frictional movement of the gage along the length of the blade, and adjustment of the blade may be achieved in an accurate, single-step process. The entire blade and holder assembly is positioned within the gage fixture and adjusting screwy at the base of the holder are accessed through apertures in a base plate of the gage fixture so that all necessary adjustments of the blade may be made with the holder insitu without any movement of the holder. Only movement of the blade within the holder is required during adjustment. Once properly adjusted, the tightening down of the blade may also be accomplished with the blade and holder still within the gage fixture.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2000Date of Patent: September 17, 2002Inventor: Thomas H. Patent number: 6434852Abstract: An inexpensive and easily used gauge for accurately gauging the position of a tool is described. The gauge includes at least one fixed or adjustable gauging reference positioned relative to the table or other work locating datum of the power tool. The gauging reference has a conductive surface to be brought into contact with the working element of the tool. A gauge for measuring the angle of a tool is also described with a gauging reference that contacts the tool in a plane parallel to the plane of motion of the working elements of the tool. An LED and battery are connected in series and to the gauging reference and to a second contact node. The second node of the normally open circuit is insulated from the gauging reference but arranged for contact with a conductive path to the working elements of the tool. When the gauging reference and the contact are in conductive engagement with the tool an LED emits light indicating that the working element of the tool is in the correct position.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2000Date of Patent: August 20, 2002Assignee: Pacific Rack & Machine, LLCInventors: Wayne A. Publication number: 20020078584Abstract: A device for centering tools, such as saw blades, rotary cutters and the like which are circular and which have bores of different sizes, on processing machines such that they can be positioned about their center axes. The device includes a mount adapted to be attached to such a machine, and a slide coupled to the mount and adapted to move relative to the mount. A first bearing is coupled to the mount, and a second and third bearing are coupled to the slide and mounted for movement on the slide selectively toward or away from the first bearing. The first, second and third bearings are configured to engage the bore of the blade such that the bore is centered on the machine and the blade is rotatable about its center axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2001Publication date: June 27, 2002Applicant: North American Products Corp.Inventors: John M. Patent number: 6393712Abstract: A jig for grinding gouges in cooperation with a grindstone or the like. The jig includes a support, which can be fixed positionally in relation to the grindstone. The support includes a supportive part that extends generally parallel to the grindstone axle. A bearing sleeve is mounted on the supportive part for pivotal movement in a plane generally perpendicular to the grindstone axle. A rod is included for displacement in the plane of the bearing sleeve. The rod includes a pivotal locking stirrup for locking the gouge to the jig.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2000Date of Patent: May 28, 2002Assignee: Tormek ABInventor: Torgny Jansson

Patent number: 6343423Abstract: A base is provided with right angularly disposed scales marked in degrees starting from zero degrees at an intersection of the scales. Indicators are elongate and pointed at their ends and each of different length. Placement of an indicator on the base in a diagonal manner with its ends on separate scales will indicate miter and bevel angles for a compound miter cut of each container panel. Each indicator bears a number to indicate the number of panels in a container having its panels cut using the compound angles identified by the indicator.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2000Date of Patent: February 5, 2002Inventor: Laurence L. Publication number: 20010034949Abstract: The RAZOR TIP is a carpenter's pencil sharpening guide. It is designed to be used with a utility knife. Carpenter's pencils are traditionally flat, and wide in shape, making them difficult to sharpen by hand. The RAZOR TIP solves this problem. At the time of this patent application filing there was only one other similar type product available on the market. However, this pencil sharpener was only good for creating a round point on a carpenter's pencil. This defeats the purpose behind the design of the carpenter's pencil. It is designed to provide the user with a flat, and wide lead point which is less susceptible to damage when used on unfinished, and rough surfaces. The RAZOR TIP maintains the original shape of the lead point.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2001Publication date: November 1, 2001Inventor: John Chaucer

Patent number: 6283686Abstract: Centering device acting upon an already present first ring (14a) of a straight or double helical toothing of gears, sprocket wheels or pulleys to obtain the second ring (14b) of the toothing generated by a pinion shaped cutter (16), a central groove (19) separating said first ring and said second ring. The centering device comprising a retractable pin (20, 120), cooperating during the positioning step of the gear (13), with at least a tooth (15) of the first ring (14a), having a first waiting position (20a, 120a) and a second operating position (20b, 120b) defining the angular position of the gear (13) clamped on the rotary supporting base (18), the angular position being functionally correlated to the plane which contains the axis (25) of the gear (11) and the axis (26) of the cutter (16).Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2000Date of Patent: September 4, 2001Assignee: Technologies Research Holding S.A.Inventor: Sheridan Ralph Gill
