Abstract: Metal pillars are placed adjacent to NPN transistor arrays that are used in the power amplifier for RF power generation. By placing the metal pillars in intimate contact with the silicon substrate, the heat generated by the NPN transistor arrays flows down into the silicon substrate and out the metal pillar. The metal pillar also forms an electrical ground connection in close proximity to the NPN transistors to function as a grounding point for emitter ballast resistors, which form an optimum electrothermal configuration for a linear SiGe power amplifier.

Abstract: An output stage circuit is provided, which includes a power supply, a quiescent current control circuit, an output circuit, and a quiescent current equalization circuit. The quiescent current equalization circuit is configured to decrease or increase a quiescent current flowing through a quiescent current biasing circuit in the quiescent current control circuit when a change of a voltage of the power supply is detected, such that a quiescent current flowing through the output circuit remains constant. A quiescent current equalization method, a Class AB amplifier and an electronic device are also provided. When the voltage of the power supply is increased, the quiescent current of the output circuit of the output stage circuit can maintain constant. As such, the power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of the output circuit can be efficiently increased and the power consumption of the device can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 9331648
Abstract: An amplifier circuit for improved slew rate consists of three main sections, which are the common mode rejection stage, primary gain stage and the output stage. The main circuit is a modified version of the fully differential operational amplifier circuit. The modifications done to this said circuit, enhances impedance which results in improved slew rate. In addition to the modifications in the primary gain stage, there's a cascade configuration to prevent systematic offset. The common mode rejection stage is primarily used due to the narrow common mode input range resulting from the cascade configuration. Additionally, another primary gain stage is included in the design prior to the output, since the output from the primary gain stage is narrow. This structure results in producing an improved slew rate.
