  • Patent number: 10068355
Abstract: Graphic arts software has evolved to provide users with a variety of mark making tools to simulate different brushes, papers, and applied media such as ink, chalk, watercolor, spray paint and oils. However, in many instances the marks rendered appear unnatural and artificial despite the software's goal being to simulate as realistically. Accordingly, it would be beneficial to provide either users or the software application with a mechanism to remove or reduce artifacts indicative of artificial generation, e.g. rapid transitions. Further, in many instances the graphic images generated and/or manipulated refer to imagined environments or have elements that are physical in nature. Accordingly, it would be beneficial to provide users with a range of mark making tools that represent marks made by mark making tools comprising multiple elements following physical laws.

  • Patent number: 10055107
Abstract: Probabilistic determination of selected image portions is described. In one or more implementations, a selection input is received for selecting a portion of an image. For pixels of the image that correspond to the selection input, probabilities are determined that the pixels are intended to be included as part of a selected portion of the image. In particular, the probability that a given pixel is intended to be included as part of the selected portion of the image is determined as a function of position relative to center pixels of the selection input as well as a difference in one or more visual characteristics with the center pixels. The determined probabilities can then be used to segment the selected portion of the image from a remainder of the image. Based on the segmentation of the selected portion from the remainder of the image, selected portion data can be generated that defines the selected portion of the image.

  • Patent number: 10031205
Abstract: The present invention obtains high-quality images even in a case of measurement with a radial sampling method. For this purpose, pre-measurement is performed to extract only a component different for each blade from among shift amounts from among echo signals, and a shift amount in k-space of an echo signal by the said component is reflected to a reconstruction process. In the pre-measurement, echo signals are obtained respectively by applying readout gradient magnetic field pulses that change the polarity to the positive and negative and that have the same pulse shape as readout gradient magnetic field pulses to be used in an image acquisition sequence. A shift amount is obtained for each axis of X, Y, and Z of an MRI apparatus as a variation amount of a phase difference between both the echo signals.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a graphics subsystem configured to implement distributed cache tiling. The graphics subsystem includes one or more world-space pipelines, one or more screen-space pipelines, one or more tiling units, and a crossbar unit. Each world-space pipeline is implemented in a different processing entity and is coupled to a different tiling unit. Each screen-space pipeline is implemented in a different processing entity and is coupled to the crossbar unit. The tiling units are configured to receive primitives from the world-space pipelines, generate cache tile batches based on the primitives, and transmit the primitives to the screen-space pipelines. One advantage of the disclosed approach is that primitives are processed in application-programming-interface order in a highly parallel tiling architecture. Another advantage is that primitives are processed in cache tile order, which reduces memory bandwidth consumption and improves cache memory utilization.

  • Patent number: 9904503
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for application broadcasting. For one embodiment, pixel data being broadcast from a moderator to one or more participants is divided into tiles. Display data is generated for each tile. Each display data segment (segment) contains the pixel data for the tile, and also contains a tile identifier. The segments are periodically evaluated. If the pixel data has changed, the segment is replaced with the most recent segment corresponding to that tile. A time indicator is also included within each segment for each tile indicating the time at which the segment was updated. A participant DPS requests data from the server and provides the time indicator for the last segment it received. The server then transmits the current segment for each tile that has been updated subsequently. This allows presentation at the participant's DPS of the most current version of the moderator's display screen.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an active stylus pen and signal transmission methods for the active stylus pen and a touch panel. The stylus has a touch module, a switching module, a signal comparison module, a control module and a pressure sensing module. The stylus determines a first signal generated by a touch panel, and compares an intensity of the first signal and a reference value through a first transmission path. When the intensity of the first signal exceeds the reference value, the stylus outputs a second signal to the touch panel. After the stylus outputs the second signal to the touch panel, the stylus switches to a second transmission path from the first transmission path. The stylus outputs a header signal to the touch panel. When determining a first time sequential distribution, the stylus outputs at least one bit of a pressure signal according to a second time sequential distribution.

  • Patent number: 9857959
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to providing a webpage design system that facilitates a simple and unified user-experience for users modifying responsive webpages. In general, the webpage design system provides an agnostic framework that allows a user to modify a responsive webpage irrespective of the responsive framework used to create the responsive webpage. For example, the webpage design system can translate one or more responsive frameworks into an agnostic framework. Further, the webpage design system can load a responsive webpage and correlate elements in the responsive webpage with operations of the agnostic framework. Upon correlating the elements with agnostic framework operations, the webpage design system can provide agnostic framework operations to a user when the webpage design system detects that a user selects an element from the responsive webpage.

  • Patent number: 9824464

  • Patent number: 9811944
Abstract: The invention relates to visualizing freeform surfaces, like NURBS surfaces, from three-dimensional construction data via Virtual beams from a virtual camera are sent out of a virtual image plane in a scene having at least one object and at least one freeform surface. Lighting values are calculated for each point where a beam intersects the freeform surface. The lighting values are then attributed to the pixels associated with the different points of intersection. The freeform surface is defined by two parameters (u, v), and related equations define all points of the surface of the freeform surface The subdivision of the freeform surface for determining the intersections with the beams based on the two parameters (u, v) is regular, so that the surface fragments form meshes of a two-dimensional grid of the freeform surface in the parameter space.
