  • Patent number: 9330609
Abstract: A luminance adjusting method for a display screen of an electronic device includes the following steps. Firstly, a current brightness value and a current imaging color value of the display screen are recorded. In response to the user's operation, the light output of the display screen is adjusted. Consequently, the adjusted brightness value is equal to a default brightness value and the adjusted imaging color value is equal to a default imaging color value. Meanwhile, the display screen is operated in the healthy display mode. In response to the user's additional operation, the light output of the display screen is adjusted. Consequently, the adjusted brightness value is equal to the recorded current brightness value and the adjusted imaging color value is equal to the recorded current imaging color value. Meanwhile, the display screen is restored to the normal display mode.

  • Patent number: 9292069
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for controlling mode switches in hardware. The resource manager includes an “is mode possible” function that evaluates a given mode in conjunction with the limitations of the hardware to determine if the given mode is feasible. The display driver is configured to call this function to validate a proposed mode before generating commands specifying the state changes for the display heads. The display software interface hardware module within the GPU processes these commands and follows a standard sequence of steps to implement the mode switch. The steps may include interrupts to the resource manager to re-validate the proposed mode, again calling the “is mode possible” function, or perform operations that are not yet supported in the hardware. Advantageously, controlling mode switches in hardware enables less error-prone, more efficient, and more discerning mode switches relative to controlling mode switches in software.

  • Patent number: 9283967
Abstract: A method for identifying roadway curvature that includes determining a range of interest and collecting shape points from a map database from a current position of the vehicle to an end of the range of interest that define the location of the roadway. The method converts the shape points from World Geodetic System 84 (WGS84) coordinates to UTM coordinates, and then fits a single set of polynomial equations to define a curve using the converted shape points. The method determines whether the single set of polynomial equations exceeds a predetermined curvature accuracy threshold, and if so, fits multiple sets of polynomial equations to multiple roadway segments over the range of interest using the converted shape points. The method then determines the roadway curvature at any roadway location using solutions to the multiple sets of polynomial equations.

Abstract: A video display device drives LEDs to emit light by light source driving circuits, detects maximum signal levels for the respective colors from video signals for an amount of n screens (n is an integer equal to or larger than one), and calculates amplification factors for the respective colors based on the detected maximum signal levels. In addition, the video display device amplifies the signal levels of the video signals based on the amplification factors for the respective colors calculated in a power saving mode for reducing power consumption, and controls drive current values of the LEDs to be respectively supplied to the light source driving circuits so as to cancel amplification amounts of brightnesses of the LEDs that correspond to amplification amounts of the signal levels of the video signals amplified.

Abstract: There is provided an X-ray CT apparatus capable of correcting the unevenness of the contrast concentration due to discontinuities in time between slices in contrast imaging using a Prospective Triggering method. In an X-ray CT apparatus 1, projection data in a specific phase of the heart is obtained by performing a scan by emitting X-rays after a predetermined time from the detection of the R wave of electrocardiogram information at each position of the heart in the body axis direction. An image processing device 4 reconstructs a tomographic image on the basis of collected projection data, calculates the projection data collection time in each scan from electrocardiogram information collected from an electrocardiograph 5, calculates the time between scans on the basis of the calculated projection data collection time, and corrects a concentration difference so as to change smoothly for an image of a position in the body axis direction in a range according to the time between scans.

  • Patent number: 9119587
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the improved display of digital mammographic images, which were measured in the context of a mammographic imaging system and displayed on a workstation monitor. The mammogram consists of a plurality of pixels with each pixel having a pixel value assigned thereto. The pixel values of all pixels of the mammogram lie within a pre-determined first range of values and the pixel values of pixels of a subsection of the mammogram lie within a second range of values, which represents a subset of the first range of values. A mammogram having a subsection with increased contrast, such that the second range of pixel values of the pixels in the subsection are spread by a spreading function, whereby the amount of the spreading function changes over the subsection. In this way, an improved display is created, by means of those representations of the mammogram regarding their contrast in subsections being optimized, at the same time the representation for a user is improved without artifacts.
