Abstract: Methods and devices are disclosed herein for detecting and responding to changes in eye conditions during presentation of video on electronic devices. One embodiment involves monitoring, via an electronic tracking device, an eye of a person watching a video on an electronic device to monitor a viewing direction of the eye. The embodiment determines that the person is watching the video based on the viewing direction of the eye and detects a change in the viewing direction of the eye. In response to detecting the change in viewing direction of the eye, the embodiment determines that the person is focused on something other than the video based on additional monitoring of the eye. Presentation of the video is changed based on determining that the person is focused on something other than the video. For example, the video may be paused, discontinued, minimized, or a targeted advertisement inserted.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for visualizing a volumetric image of an anatomical structure. Using a first view of the volumetric image showing a non-orthogonal cross-section of a surface of the anatomical structure, a local orientation of the surface within the volumetric image is determined, namely by analyzing the image data of the volumetric image. Having determined the local orientation of the surface, a second view is generated of the volumetric image, the second view being geometrically defined by a viewing plane intersecting the surface of the anatomical structure in the volumetric image orthogonally. Accordingly, the surface is shown in a sharper manner in the second view than would typically be the case in the first view. Advantageously, the user can manually define or correct a delineation of the outline of the anatomical structure in a more precise manner.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an equidistant object relocating system that facilitates efficiently and automatically relocating objects within a digital document to an equidistant position relative to other objects. For example, in some embodiments, the equidistant object relocating system identifies a subject object and reference objects, including their positions, within a digital document. Based on the position of the subject object, the equidistant object relocating system generates one or more sets of overlapping objects from the reference objects. In addition, the equidistant object relocating system determines an equidistant position for the subject object based on overlapping objects within the one or more sets of overlapping objects. Further, in these embodiments, the equidistant object relocating system automatically snaps the subject object to the equidistant position.

For instance, a temporal distance indicates a relative time between timestamps of events represented by the two data entries. In other embodiments, relative attributes may be based on physical proximity, altitude, semantics, etc. The indexing system may also generate a key space database to enable efficient lookup of events associated with a target entity for indexing new data entries. For example, the indexing system may perform one read operation using the key space database to lookup all events associated with the target entity. Furthermore, the indexing system may determine responses for queries to retrieve events that occurred within a target temporal distance before or after a target type of event.

Abstract: A graphics system for changing images on a gaming machine display, having a transition library of transition types, a graphics engine and a control means. The graphics engine applies a selected transition type from the transition library to at least one of at least two images for determining the way in which a substitution of one of the images by the other of the images occurs and initializes transition data for effecting an incremental substitution of the one image by the other image. The control means modifies the transition data such that, when the selected transition type is being effected, an incremental substitution of at least a part of the one image by the other image occurs serially until the one image has been substituted by the other image on the gaming machine display.

Abstract: In a conventional quantitative plan simulation, it is practically impossible to prepare a spreadsheet-type data input template applicable to all types of plans. Thus, a quantitative plan simulation system is required to handle a plurality of spreadsheets containing variously-formatted data. Therefore, the present invention provides a simulation system, a simulation method and a simulation program which are configured to extract a numerical value, a mathematical formula or other kinds of data necessary for a quantitative plan simulation, based on a relevancy among numerical values and mathematical formulas or other kinds of data in a spreadsheet, and perform the quantitative plan simulation based on the extracted numerical values and mathematical formulas.

Abstract: This disclosure pertains to systems, methods, and computer readable medium for mapping particular user interactions, e.g., gestures, to the input parameters of various image processing routines, e.g., image filters, in a way that provides a seamless, dynamic, and intuitive experience for both the user and the software developer. Such techniques may handle the processing of both “relative” gestures, i.e., those gestures having values dependent on how much an input to the device has changed relative to a previous value of the input, and “absolute” gestures, i.e., those gestures having values dependent only on the instant value of the input to the device. Additionally, inputs to the device beyond user-input gestures may be utilized as input parameters to one or more image processing routines. For example, the device's orientation, acceleration, and/or position in three-dimensional space may be used as inputs to particular image processing routines.

Abstract: A technique is described for analyzing a dataset that includes many dataset objects by generating a hybrid chart. The hybrid chart is a two-dimensional chart that is divided up into multiple segments. Some segments are configured to present a color from a color scale that is used to represent the number of dataset objects that lie within the segment. Other segments are configured to present dataset objects within the segment by plotting the dataset objects. Depending on the number of dataset objects within the segment, one of these two approaches can be used. The chart offers interactivity like zooming and selecting a range of datasets. Furthermore the chart starts by offering a coarse overview while generating views with increasing granularity and more details over time. During this process the chart remains completely interactive.
