  • Patent number: 10593103
Abstract: A data processing system includes a graphics display component for creating an image to be displayed and a method therefor is described. The graphics display component includes: a layer selection module configured to: identify a set M of active layers for at least one pixel to be displayed; and a display controller unit, DCU, operably coupled to the layer selection module and comprising a blend manager; and at least one processor and one or more processing units. The at least one processor is configured to determine whether a number, m, of active layers in the set, M, exceeds a blend limit, n, of a maximum number of graphical surfaces that can be blended simultaneously by the DCU and, in response thereto, identify a subset N of up to n layers from the set M of active layers. The blend manager is configured to bind a first portion of active layers directly to the DCU and output any excess active layers in the set, M, that exceeds the n layers to at least one selected processing unit for blending.

  • Patent number: 10593081
Abstract: A system and method for graphical representation of spatial data. A disclosed video display system is capable of presenting a layout of graphics objects as part of a displayed image. The system provides in the displayed image i) a first graphical representation in a first display area of a display and ii) a diagrammatic representation in a second display area. The diagrammatic representation features superimposed graphical elements that are dependent on the first graphical representation. The video display system can provide, for example, a pie chart as the first graphical representation and a map of a geographic area as the diagrammatic representation. The pie chart graphically represents, for example, a breakdown of members by organization, wherein each slice in the pie chart corresponds to a different organization. Superimposed on the map are elements of a bar chart, which is another example of a graphical representation.

  • Patent number: 10585918
Abstract: Overlay datasets provide an efficient, flexible and scalable mechanism to represent the logical replication of one or more prior defined datasets. Only changes made to an entity in an overlay dataset's underlying dataset are replicated into the overlay dataset (such changes do not affect the underlying dataset). Read operations directed to the overlay dataset will find entities in the overlay dataset if they exist and in the underlying dataset(s) if no overlay-specific entity exists. Accordingly, overlay datasets provide an efficient mechanism for making changes to an existing dataset without suffering the high processing time and storage overhead associated with prior art copying and versioning techniques. Overlay datasets also provide a natural mechanism to keep two or more datasets in synchronization because changes to a base or underlying dataset's entities are “visible” in its associated overlay dataset (unless the entity has been modified in the overlay dataset).

  • Patent number: 10586395
Abstract: A system and method for offloading object detection are described. A server receives first sensor data from a first sensor of an augmented reality (AR) display device. The first sensor data indicates a pose of the AR display device relative to a first reference coordinate system. The server detects a physical object using second sensor data received from a second sensor of the AR display device. The server determines, based on the second sensor data, a pose of the physical object relative to the AR display device. The server then determines the pose of the physical object relative to the first reference coordinate system based on the pose of the physical object relative to the AR display device and the pose of the AR display device relative to the first reference coordinate system.

  • Patent number: 10565739
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for providing tools to validate color contrast are provided. To do so, three discrete color check processes are performed to ensure a user is able to identify when an icon is at risk of being inaccessible by some users. A border score considers each pixel at the edge of an icon compared to the background in which it is placed. An area score considers each discrete pixel of an icon compared to the background in which it is placed. A grid score considers a subdivision of an icon compared to the background in which it is placed. Using each of these three independent process, a summative score is provided. The summative score categories the icon into a risk level. Depending on the risk level, the icon may need to be refined to ensure it becomes more accessible.
