Abstract: In a method for printing a metal-tone printed matter, a metallic ink which includes metal particles dispersed in a solvent is applied onto a smooth printing surface of a printing medium to provide a metallic ink layer containing a metal layer having the metal particles accumulated on a printing surface side closer to the smooth printing surface in the metallic ink layer. The printing medium is reversed to transfer the metallic ink layer onto a material to be transferred while making a smooth surface of the metal layer as a display surface.

Abstract: The mechanism include a bottom bracket and a base plate, the bottom bracket is mounted on the base plate to provide accurate Y-axis movement and adjustment, wherein also include a top bracket which is mounted on the bottom bracket for providing angle adjustment of the print head. Micrometer screw head is used as the adjustment mechanism for fine precision adjustment. The print head and the adjustment mechanism are two separate parts, so exchanging or adjusting it will not damage the print heads. Remounting a print head requires a slight adjustment to reach the desired position reducing labor intensity and making for easier maintenance to the print heads.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for preventing oxidation or contamination during a circuit printing operation. The circuit printing operation can be directed to OLED-type printing. In an exemplary embodiment, the printing process is conducted at a load-locked printer housing having one or more of chambers. Each chamber is partitioned from the other chambers by physical gates or fluidic curtains. A controller coordinates transportation of a substrate through the system and purges the system by timely opening appropriate gates. The controller may also control the printing operation by energizing the print-head at a time when the substrate is positioned substantially thereunder.

  • Patent number: 8579405
Abstract: In a printer having a print head moveable relative to a recording medium, the recording medium and print head may touch each other, thereby possibly damaging the print head and/or the recording medium. In order to prevent further damage, it is advantageous to detect a medium touch as soon as possible. An available feedback signal relating to the print head, e.g. originating from a carriage on which the print head is mounted, is employed to determine whether a medium touch has occurred such that a dedicated medium touch or crash sensor may be omitted. A malfunctioning nozzle signal is used to determine a change in a number of malfunctioning nozzles to detect a medium touch. Alternatively, a print head position signal is used to determine a position error and derive from the position error whether or not a medium touch has occurred.
