Abstract: The weather-resistant shelter for a lighting fixture is primarily designed for use in outdoor environments. The shelter comprises upper and lower hood segments attached to a backing plate. A horizontal gap between the hood segments allows cooling air to circulate around electrical components within the shelter while protecting the electrical components from moisture. A second embodiment comprises a backing plate sized and dimensioned to house certain electrical components. In an additional embodiment, the backing plate is divided into independent upper and lower halves for increased flexibility. The device may be specifically configured to accommodate a bulb of 60 watts or more.

Abstract: A projection exposure apparatus includes a diaphragm controlling unit controlling one or more of an diaphragm, an iris diaphragm, and a relay lens system. In addition, the projection exposure apparatus also includes a line width calculator which calculates a bias, which is a difference between a line width in a dense part and a line width in an isolated part, based on information regarding a mask pattern, the wavefront aberration of a lens, the effective light source of an illumination optical system, the half-width of a laser, the temperature change in a projection optical system due to exposure, etc. When the bias is out of a tolerance range, the line width calculator calculates a correction value for the diaphragm of the projection optical system or a correction value for the effective light source of the illumination optical system in accordance with the bias which is to be corrected. Then, the diaphragm controlling unit is driven in accordance with the calculation results.

Abstract: A shutter section includes a stack of circular plates independently rotatable in a nest formed as a laminar formation of rings. The plates have central openings defining a light path. Four central plates in the stack are shutter guide plates with radial guide slots slideably holding shutter blades. Two outer pairs of plates are shutter drive plates connected by cams to the shutter blades. Simultaneous rotation of a shutter guide plate and associated shutter drive plate causes rotation of an associated shutter blade around the light path. Rotation of a shutter drive plate while the associated shutter guide plate is stationary causes the cam to move the associated shutter blade radially. The nest is enclosed by end plates. A flexible, annular diaphragm is fixed to the lamp housing around the peripheral portion of the opening. An inner circumferential portion of the diaphragm contacts a peripheral portion of the lighting control circuit to effectively seal around the lighting control circuit.

Abstract: A lighting assembly for improving the performance of undercabinet and streamlined lighting includes a LED module onto which is mounted a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs). The LEDs serve as the light source for generating a light pattern. An optical assembly focuses and disperses the LED output to a desired light contour. The lighting assembly further includes a mounting base for attaching the LED module to an associated surface, such as the underside of a cabinet. A battery source is optionally enclosed in the module for providing primary or secondary power to the lighting assembly. In a preferred embodiment, the battery source is a rechargeable battery that can be recharged by means of an AC adapter that connects to the lighting assembly.

An auxiliary luminous distribution pattern is formed at center area of a high-beam luminous distribution pattern additionally by reflecting forward at the second auxiliary reflector 44 after direct light directing to forward and obliquely upward from a light source 22a is reflected downward at the first auxiliary reflector 36 at the time of high-beam emission. Because of that, at the low-beam emission, an area close cut-off line at opposite lane side of the low-beam luminous distribution pattern does not brighten more than necessity, further, luminous intensity of a part of the area at the hot zone of the high-beam luminous distribution pattern is obtained enough.

Disposed over the lens is a rotating, half-spherical cap having an approximately quarter-spherical sized opening that allows a portion of the lens to be exposed so that light from the light bulb located inside the lens may shine therethrough. Thus when the outer cap is selectively rotated around the base unit, the quarter-spherical sized opening is rotated therewith, and a dissipated broad beam of light may be selectively aimed in any 360 degree direction.
