The UE location information can be used to determine a location of the emulated AP. The location of the emulated AP can be retrieved from the database in response to a query identifying the emulated AP. This can enable the non-AP device to query its own location as observed by the UE. This can enable other devices to receive the location of the non-AP device.

Abstract: A network appliance may be coupled to a network tool configured to monitor the traffic within a computer network. Often, the network tool is operable in two modes (i.e., an inline mode and an out-of-band mode). Before the network tool is deployed as an inline device, however, it is desirable to verify that the network tool is secure. Described herein are systems and techniques for verifying network tools prior to deployment as inline devices. More specifically, the network appliance may be configured to modify the content of a data packet (e.g., by altering a bit) and transmit the modified data packet downstream to a network tool. The network appliance can monitor the network tool to make sure the network tool drops or returns the modified data packet. These techniques allow the network appliance to controllably simulate the receipt of malicious traffic by the network tool.

Abstract: A method includes receiving network monitoring data for a plurality of internet protocol (“IP”) packets, each having been routed along a respective initial path according to a predetermined policy by a routing node. The method also includes receiving a proposed policy designed to cause an intended change in routing future IP packets and generating a corresponding simulation packet for each of the plurality of IP packets based on the network monitoring data. The method still further includes routing each of the simulation packets along a respective simulated path according to the proposed policy to simulate routing the future IP packets and determining, for a particular IP packet, a deviation between the respective simulated path for the corresponding simulation packet and the respective initial path. The method additionally includes determining whether to apply the proposed policy to the routing node based on whether the intended change in routing includes the deviation.

Abstract: A packet forwarding network may include switches that forward network traffic between end hosts and network tap devices that forward copied network traffic to an analysis network formed from client switches that are controlled by a controller. Network analysis devices and network service devices may be coupled to the client switches at interfaces of the analysis network. The controller may receive one or more network policies from a network administrator. A network policy may identify ingress interfaces, egress interfaces, matching rules, packet manipulation services to be performed. The controller may control the client switches to generate network paths that forward network packets that match the matching rules from the ingress interfaces to the egress interfaces through service devices that perform the services of the list. The controller may generate network paths for network policies based on network topology information and/or current network conditions maintained at the controller.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method for identifying potential sources of malicious activity as well as identifying potentially malicious files that originated from suspected malicious sources. Using an anchor event and telemetry data from devices known to have been infected by malicious activity similar events in the telemetry data between two devices can be identified. These satellite events are then used to identify other files that may have been deposited by the satellite event such that those files can be highlighted to a malware researcher. Additionally, the malware protection may be updated based on this analysis to label an associated site with the satellite event as a malicious site such that the site may be blocked or quarantined.

Abstract: The present invention relates to providing control information within a search space for blind decoding in a multi-carrier communication system. In particular, the control information is carried within a sub-frame of the communication system, the sub-frame including a plurality of control channel elements. The control channel elements may be aggregated into candidates for blind decoding. The number of control channel elements in a candidate is called aggregation level. In accordance with the present invention, the candidates of lower aggregation levels are localized, meaning that the control channel elements of one candidate are located adjacently to each other in the frequency domain. Some candidates of the higher aggregation level(s) are distributed in the frequency.

  • Patent number: 10257002
Abstract: A microelectromechanical resonant switch (“resoswitch”) converts received radio frequency (RF) energy into an output signal with zero quiescent power usage by using a resonant element with a passband input sensitivity of: <?60 dBm, <?68 dBm, and <?100 dBm. The resoswitch first accepts incoming amplitude- or frequency-shift keyed RF energy at a carrier frequency, filters it, provides power gain via resonant impact switching, and finally envelop detects impact impulses to demodulate and recover the modulating waveform. Mechanical gain may be used to amplify received signals, whose amplitudes may be binned, thereby preserving use of amplitude modulated (AM) signals. A second resoswitch may be used to control additional circuitry, whereby the first resoswitch detects a control signal output to the additional circuitry.

A UE performs radio measurements of a serving cell and neighbor cells in a mobile communication network. The UE evaluates a measurement reporting criteria and attempts to access the network to deliver a measurement report if the criteria is met. The UE then detects a radio link failure or a handover failure event and reconnects to the network by performing RRC reestablishment or RRC establishment. Finally, the UE transmits a failure event report to the network. The failure event report comprises UE measurement state information corresponds to the failure event. The UE measurement state information helps the network to determine whether to apply corrective actions to mitigate the failure.
