Diagnostic Testing (other Than Synchronization) Patents (Class 370/241)
  • Patent number: 10114355
Abstract: A technique for operating a communication system includes determining whether a specific node of the communication system is a start node. In response to determining the specific node is the start node, transmission of a header over a communication link of the communication system for each frame period is initiated. The frame period also includes a plurality of address segments each of which has an associated data number. In response to determining the specific node is the start node, data numbers for address segments are compared with associated I/O module address settings to determine if a data number is equal to one of the associated I/O module address settings. In response to determining the data number is equal to one of the associated I/O module address settings, transmission of node configuration and data from an input module (included in associated I/O modules) or zeroes for an output module (included in the associated I/O modules) is initiated.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage mediums for policy-based testing of computer networks may involve identifying a set of network nodes within a network, and iteratively filtering the set of network nodes in accordance with a testing policy comprising at least one policy rule. Iteratively filtering may include, in an initial iteration, filtering out network nodes that are endpoints of the network from the set of network nodes. Iteratively filtering may further include, for each subsequent iteration, determining a filter criteria from one or more of the policy rules, and filtering out network nodes from the set of network nodes produced by the immediately previous iteration based on the filter criteria. The policy-based testing further comprises invoking a network test scheme that is compliant with the testing policy and is limited to execution against the set of network nodes produced by the iterative filtering.

  • Patent number: 10110435
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying stable attributes in clusters of devices and naming the clusters of devices using the stable attributes. The stable attribute is selected from data associated with user/household behavior and data associated with each device. Because the stable attribute is associated with the device in the cluster determined to be the most stable, it is a persistent identifier that can be used to identify the user/household over time. Because the stable attribute is determined each time the clusters are determined, resources that would be required to track the user/household over time are saved and the system of tracking users/households is more efficient. Attributes evaluated to determine the stable attribute include IP address, the location of the device, hardware characteristics of the device, the date a CRM profile was created, timestamp of the first or last user authentication, and the number of authentications on that device.

Abstract: The present invention is designed so that uplink transmission is carried out adequately even when CA to apply different duplex modes between multiple cells is executed. A user terminal communicates with an FDD cell and a TDD cell by employing carrier aggregation, and has a receiving section that receives DL signals transmitted from each cell, and a feedback control section that allocates delivery acknowledgement signals in response to the DL signals received, by allocating the delivery acknowledgment signals in a predetermined UL subframe, and, regardless of the cell that is configured as the primary cell, when UL subframes are configured in both the FDD cell and the TDD cell, the feedback control section feeds back the delivery acknowledgement signals by using a UL subframe of one or both of the cells, and, when a UL subframe is configured only in the FDD cell, the feedback control section feeds back the delivery acknowledgement signals by using the UL subframe of the FDD cell.

  • Patent number: 10091775
Abstract: This disclosure relates to providing system information for cell access to link budget limited devices. According to some embodiments, a base station may transmit an announcement information block (AIB) in a downlink shared data channel (e.g., PDSCH), wherein the AIB contains information useable by a UE in determining the location of system information in the downlink shared data channel. The UE can thus determine the location of and decode system information without having to decode a downlink control channel (e.g., PDCCH). This may be important for certain classes of devices, such as link budget limited devices, which have issues in decoding the downlink control channel. Improved paging scheduling techniques are also disclosed which more efficiently use PDCCH paging resources.

Abstract: A method and associated systems for improving robustness of a cellular network. A topology of the cellular network is represented as an undirected graph that represents base stations as nodes and represents communication paths between base stations as edges. Each node is associated with a “synergistic” version of a Shapley value proportional to an amount of network disturbance that would occur if that value's corresponding base station should fail. The synergistic nature of the synergistic Shapley values allows them to account for scenarios in which multiple base stations fail at the same time. A synergistic Shapley value of a particular node is derived as a function of how many of the shortest paths between nodes of the graph lengthen when the node's corresponding base station fails. Base stations and nodes associated with higher synergistic Shapley values are deemed to be “censorious” and in need of reconfiguration.

Abstract: State information relating to the operation of network devices is used to identify network issues and/or anomalies relating to the operation of the network. The state information from the network devices may include time-series signals from a number of the network devices. Correlation values may be obtained between pairs of time-series signals. Pairs of time-series signals that have a relatively high correlation value may be determined to be related to one another. In one implementation, mitigation of the network issues/anomalies may be automatically performed based on calculated correlation values.

  • Patent number: 10002338
Abstract: A method and score management node for supporting service evaluation by obtaining a perception score P reflecting a user's experience of a service delivered by means of a telecommunication network. The score management node receives network measurements related to service events when the service is delivered to the user. For each received network measurement, the score management node determines a quality score Q reflecting the user's perception of quality of service delivery by applying a first function on the network measurement, and determines an associated significance S reflecting the user's perception of importance of service delivery by applying a second function on the network measurement. The first and second functions are dependent on network measurement type. The perception score P is then calculated based on the determined quality scores Q and associated significances S, wherein the calculated perception score P is made available for use in the service evaluation.

  • Patent number: 9986526
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate transmitting positioning reference signals (PRS) differently for passive distributed elements. PRSs for passive distributed elements can be transmitted over disparate resources than those utilized for PRSs at a related access point, using different symbol sequences, and/or the like. In this regard, wireless devices can differentiate between PRSs from access points and those from passive distributed elements, which can mitigate confusion for processes involving such RSs, such as position determining. Alternatively, passive distributed elements can refrain from transmitting PRSs, and a corresponding access point can indicate to wireless devices to only determine positioning based on PRSs. Thus, the wireless devices can utilize the PRSs transmitted from the access point (and not other reference signals transmitted from the passive distributed element) to determine a position.
