  • Patent number: 8342753
Abstract: A system is disclosed for use in a rolling mill oil film bearing to remove oil exiting from between a rotating sleeve and a fixed bushing surrounding the sleeve. The system comprises an annular chamber arranged to receive the exiting flow of oil. The chamber is isolated from a drainage sump by confinement surfaces including a seal interface defined by a flexible seal in contact with an adjacent rigid component of the bearing. Impellers project into the chamber and are rotable with and at the velocity of the sleeve to rotatively propel oil around the chamber. A discharge conduit communicates tangentially with the chamber and is arranged to receive a pressurized flow of the oil being rotatively propelled around the chamber. A venturi is located in the discharge conduit. A suction conduit connects the venturi to the drainage sump. Oil escaping from the annular chamber past the seal interface into the drainage sump is aspirated by the venturi for removal via the conduit.

The thickener is a urea compound shown by the following formula (1) and is contained at 1 to 40 mass % for the entire grease. The grease for the hub bearing is enclosed in the hub bearing. (In the formula (1), R2 indicates an aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 15 carbon atoms, and R1 and R3 indicate at least one hydrocarbon group selected from an alicyclic hydrocarbon group and an aromatic hydrocarbon group.

Abstract: A sliding bearing according to the present invention includes a metal part formed by electroforming on an inner periphery of the sliding bearing and an oil feeding mechanism for supplying oil to the bearing gap. As a result, oil retained by the oil feeding mechanism is supplied to the bearing gap, so the lubricity between the bearing and the shaft member is improved by an oil film formed in the bearing gap, making it possible to avoid generation of noise due to defective lubrication and wear of members due to the contact sliding between the bearing and the shaft member.

When the present invention is applied to a motor structure, the oil-guide channel is upwardly or downwardly disposed by penetrating the top or bottom end face of the bearing. Hence, when lubricant is churned by the spindle to permeate and diffuse, the oil-guide channel can block and collect the rising lubricant for the bearing to absorb, circulate and reuse again in a timely manner, thereby effectively preventing lubricant from draining and prolonging the operational lifespan of a motor.
