Abstract: A dual sided integral composite image product and method of make same. The image product includes a first support substrate having a separate image layer thereon and a second support substrate having separate image layer thereon. The second support substrate being secured to the first support substrate so as to form the dual sided integral composite image product. A fold line is provided on said image product about which the integral composite image product may be folded.

Abstract: An extruded snap frame panel arrangement assembly for the biased pinching of a display panel therewithin. The arrangement includes an elongated back frame plate, a front frame plate and an elongated S-shaped double curved snap plate integrally co-extruded with the back plate and front plate, for biasedly pinching the display panel therebetween. A separate cover plate is slidably attached to the S-shaped double-curved snap plate for providing a further bias to the pinching of the display panel.

Abstract: A framing system for dependently supporting an object generally comprises a plurality of frame elements for perimetrically engaging the object to be framed and a plurality of securing members. The frame elements are defined one from another by a plurality of interiorly projecting slots in their outer perimeter. For engaging the frame elements to secure the object to be framed, the securing members each comprise an extended slot. Upon mating of the extended slot of a securing member with a one of the interiorly projecting slots, a distal portion of the securing member projects into the inner perimeter of the frame elements to engage the outer edge of the object to be framed. The frame elements may comprise a single structure or a plurality of structures. In the case of a plurality of structures, the framing system may be formed to have a unitary base and a unitary top. Framing of an object is thus simplified as the object need only be placed into the unitary base, whereafter the unitary top may be affixed.

Abstract: A binder for papers, photographs, or other sheet-like materials is provided with a cover having one or more window openings defined therein. A flat, transparent protective sheet is located in contact with the inside surface of the binder cover and a backing sheet overlies the protective sheet. The backing sheet is secured to the peripheral margin of the protective sheet, and elsewhere as required, to delineate at least one, and preferably a plurality of pockets. The pockets are formed between the backing sheet and the protective sheet. An elongated slit in defined through the backing sheet behind each pocket created. The peripheral edges of the backing sheet are permanently secured to the inside surface of the binder cover. Photographs or other flat display materials may be inserted into the pockets formed between the backing sheet and the protective sheet through the elongated slits. The pockets are delineated so that they are aligned with the window opening in the cover.

Abstract: A picture frame includes a frame with a decorative cover thereon. The frame has an opening through which a picture can be viewed and the cover extends from a top of the frame and around an interior edge of the opening to a bottom of the frame. The picture frame has an annular substrate that has an interior peripheral wall with plural steps ascending from the substrate and extending into the opening, where a riser of a top step abuts the interior edge of the opening to hold the cover between the riser and the frame, and where a flat of a bottom step abuts the bottom of the frame to hold the cover between the flat and the frame. A removably attachable back that holds a picture is provided in the opening.

Abstract: System for mounting a thin flat object such as a photograph into a curvilinear recess formed in the front of a substrate, using a curvilinear decorative flexible retaining ring. The retaining ring is retained either by interference or frictional engagement with a smooth sidewall portion of the recess wall. Optionally, a transparent protective cover may be included.

Abstract: An auxiliary display for displaying pictures and other material in connection with electronic display devices. The auxiliary display is made in a frame attachable to an electronic display such as a monitor, wherein the frame includes an outer member having an opening and a backing for the outer member for suspending a photo against the opening. The suspension can be against a trap door, which is closable by rotatable fasterners against the backing.

Abstract: A package for the sale of image-quality printing paper facilitates digital image printing by providing blank sheets of image-quality printing paper pre-cut to accommodate image printing sizes for personal use. A rigid container is constructed and arranged to provide convenient protection, storage, display, and transportation of the blank sheets and the images subsequently printed thereon. The container may be provided with a multifunctional stand therein. Alternatively, or in addition, the container may be provided with a frame for surrounding, displaying, and holding the container.

Abstract: A frame panel apparatus for the ready presentation of flat media therein. The apparatus includes a flexible frame arranged to define a peripheral support for a display. An upper transparent panel having a periphery entirely enclosed by the flexible frame and a lower support panel having a periphery with a only a portion thereof supported by a shoulder member of the flexible frame support a display media therebetween.

Abstract: System and method for mounting front-loaded photographs, which are held in place in a recess with a smooth curvilinear sidewall by a flexible plastic retaining ring, which is precisely formed to frictionally engage the smooth sidewall. A variety of recess shapes and decorative retaining rings are useable to provide a variety of displays, either single or in an array. The preferred method of forming the recess is by routing, using a template set or computer-controlled router bit.

Abstract: A frame assembly for quickly, easy, and inexpensively framing a work of art without requiring any special tools or skills. The frame assembly includes a transparent protective member and support member. A work of art is positioned between the protective and support members. One or more frame members are then used to secure the protective and support members together. Frame members may be two or three dimensional. Each frame member has a slot defined therein to be slidably displaced over the assembled protective and support members with the work of art disposed therebetween. An internal rib projects outwardly into the slot of the frame member. This rib is received within a corresponding slot defined in at least a portion of the support member. To further ensure that the protective and support members remain secured together, a retaining member, such as a spring clip, leaf clip, or eccentric cam, may be positioned within the slot of the frame member to produce a force against the support member.

Abstract: The frame assembly for mounting a picture, painting, photograph or the like includes: a generally rectangular frame having an inwardly extending rear end flange; a backing board having a border or perimeter and being constructed and arranged to be received within the frame; at least two retainers slidably mounted on the backing board and being movable from a position not engaging the rear end flange of the frame and within the border of the backing board to a rear end flange engaging position where a hook of the retainer at a first end of the retainer is positioned beyond the border of the backing board and in front of the rear end flange for holding the backing board in the frame of the frame assembly.

Abstract: An elongated shell and internal gripper assembly for gripping and supporting sheet-like posters or pictures for display purposes in a readily exchangeable manner. The assembly comprises an elongated, extruded gripper clip has a planar backing base pivotable distal-most poster receiving edge. The assembly includes an elongated, extruded receiving shell with a gripper clip receiving channel centrally arranged therein and an edge slot at a lowermost portion of the shell members. The gripper clip is slidably received within the receiving channel. The gripper clip has its distalmost receiving edge extending distally beyond the edge slot of the shell to permit display and exchange of a poster or picture therefrom.

Abstract: A frame element assembly suitable for forming the frame of a display holder, the frame element assembly having a base portion and a retaining leaf, the retaining leaf being pivotally mounted with respect to the base portion, the retaining leaf being held in a pivotal arrangement by a bow spring, the assembly being adapted such that in use the retaining leaf can pivot between an “open” position in which display material can be inserted or removed from the display holder and a “closed” position in which display material is retained within the display holder. The assembly is adapted such that the retaining leaf is removably mounted with respect to the pivot arrangement when the display holder is in its assembled state.

Abstract: A turn button for a picture frame back includes an elongated metal body portion. A pivot boss is provided on the bottom side surface adjacent to a first end. The pivot boss includes an upstanding cylindrical wall with a free upper edge and an aperture therethrough for rotatably securing the turn button to a first portion of a picture frame. The free upper edge of the cylindrical wall serves as a cutting edge and is capable of piercing through a picture frame back. A smooth glide pad is also provided and has a substantially smooth outwardly facing surface for engaging a second portion of the picture frame in order to retain a second portion in a predetermined position relative to the first portion and to avoid excess damage to the picture frame back. A turning knob is also provided to facilitate hand manipulation of the turn button by the user.

Abstract: A photo receiving device includes four side rails with four corner members joining the side rails to form a rectangular frame, each of the side rails having a dove-tailed groove defined therein in which a plurality of pressing members and a hanger are movably and rotatably received. Each of the pressing members and the hanger has an ellipse shank which is sized to be movably received in or securely engaged with the dove-tailed groove by rotation. Each of the side rails has a flange extending from an inner side thereof so as to support a board mounted thereto which is pressed by the pressing members.

Abstract: A picture frame (1) for carrying a picture (2) or the like, with or without the aid of glass (3) and/or backing (4), the frame (1) including the frame sections (5) kept together at their corner regions (6) by fastening members (7), there also being included pressure members (8) for urging the picture (2) against an edge portion (9) extending as a flange along the frame sections (5).

Abstract: A four bar kinematic artwork retainer that attaches to a frame for securely holding artwork in a frame. The four bar kinematic artwork retainer device is installed for retaining artwork in a frame by positioning the pivot pin interconnecting two point links of the retracted artwork retainer in the inside corner of a frame and then locking the artwork retainer in position wherein the piercing points of the artwork retainer have engaged with the frame. The installed artwork retainer is in intimate contact with the back of the artwork and corner of the frame. The artwork retainer quickly, safely and easily attaches to the frame without modifying the frame or using tools.

Abstract: A picture frame is provided including a frame and a backing. The picture frame includes a plurality of side members which are coupled to each other to define a picture receiving region. Each side member has a flange and an interior wall. The flange is located at a front face of the frame and projects into the picture receiving region. The flange has a back surface which is perpendicular to the interior wall. The backing removably retains a picture in the picture receiving region. The picture frame further includes at least one flexible tab extending generally perpendicularly from the interior wall of at least one side member. The tab retains the backing in the frame and is spaced apart from the back surface of the flange by a distance at least equal to a thickness of the backing. When the backing is inserted into the frame, each tab bends towards the flange to allow the backing to pass by.

Abstract: A mail holder for a message board having a retaining grip, an elongate rear portion extending from the retaining grip, a bottom portion extending substantially perpendicularly from the elongate rear portion, and an elongate front portion extending substantially perpendicularly from the bottom portion towards the retaining grip, the rear, bottom, and front portions defining a cavity for retaining one or more planar objects therein. The front portion may be biased to provide a slight clamping force towards the rear portion to retain the planar objects between the front and rear portions. The rear portion may be substantially flat and the front portion curved towards the rear portion as it extends away from the bottom portion. The bottom portion may have waves formed therein extending generally parallel to the front and rear portions. The retaining grip has a substantially "C" shape, including a substantially flat portion extending between front and rear portions.

Abstract: A system for mounting, storing, and quickly changing displays is provided. The use of pins which pass through mounting holes in either the margin of items to be displayed or through mounting holes in tabs attached to an item to be displayed is provided. The pins then anchor into holes in support materials which may be for example, a backing board, for example, a mat board, or for example, an easel. The dynamics of the mounting may be achieved by way of pins attached to the support material.The system also provides for storage of additional items, which are held in place in storage by way of the same system of pins, shanks, mounting holes and anchoring holes and fixed pins.

Abstract: Apparatus for posting bills that includes a frame containing a window region. A transparent outer film is mounted in the window and coacts with a back film to establish a wallet that is open along one edge for receiving a bill therein. The window has apparatus associated therewith for securing and tensioning the wallet inside the window.

Abstract: A display unit for mounting to a storage unit having a storage space including a frame receivable of a display element and movable between a first position in which access to the storage space is prevented and a lockable second position enabling access to the storage space. The frame is pivotally mounted to the storage unit such that the frame is pivotable about a first pivot axis between the first and second positions. The display unit also includes locking members for locking the frame in the second position.

Abstract: An image or object support apparatus holds and displays an image or object, such as a photograph, drawing or other graphic work in a spaced position relative to a backing plate. The backing plate is itself supported in the place of display, as by picture hanging means or a stand. The image or object is supported by struts having grippers enabling easy changing of the image or object, and easy adapting to images of various size.

Abstract: A confectionery product that also functions to transmit a greeting or a message to a person receiving the product. The product comprises a rectangular bar of chocolate candy having a top surface provided with a cavity. A wrapper enclosing the candy bar and extending into the cavity is in turn encircled by a tubular heat shrink member. The heat shrink member is in firm engagement with the wrapper that provides access to the cavity so that the greeting card can be personalized and then inserted in one end of the heat shrink member and pushed to a position in the cavity. The resulting product can then be displayed in a flower arrangement or used by itself.

Abstract: A poster display device for holding and displaying posters and advertising materials, particular in outdoor environments. A plurality of frame sections are positioned around the periphery of a backing member. The frame sections have rotating cover members which are biased by resilient members to be held in open and closed positions. A transparent protective sheet member is used to cover and protect the poster and advertising materials, and a sealing member is utilized to seal around the edges of the protective sheet member and prevent moisture and other environmental elements from coming into contact with the advertising materials and posters. The sealing members are positioned in slots, recesses, or channels in the frame sections and the force of the resilient members on the cover members holds the protective sheet materials tightly in place against the sealing members.

Abstract: An advertising device or sign that has a plastic frame having a front that contains advertising. The advertisement is on a plastic laminate with holes around its periphery that engage pins on the back of the frame. The back further has receptacles that engage a holder that forms an optional pocket. The optional pocket contains items that can be handed out or mailed. The frames can be joined together to form a larger display than can be accommodated on a single frame.

Abstract: A retainer for securing artwork in a picture frame includes a spring capable of engaging all four side rails of a picture frame in compressive fashion. The spring is formed in the configuration of a four pointed star, each point of the star joined to an adjacent point by a pair of diverging, arcuate, concave arms. All of the points and the joining arms are disposed in a common plane. The entire star configuration is formed of spring wire or the like, and is preferably formed in integral, unitary fashion. The points of the star are each formed by a convex bend in the spring wire, the convex bend having a radius significantly smaller than the radii of any of the linking arms of the star. At each point the apex is ground or otherwise formed to define a sharpened edge which penetrates the picture frame material. The star is dimensioned to be slightly larger that the length and width of the inner opening of the picture frame.

Abstract: An easily assembled, light weight, wall mountable picture frame for displaying posters, pictures, documents or other generally planar objects. The picture frame has hard plastic connecting pieces that receive and enclose the ends of rigid foam side members and which can be assembled in various polygonal and multiple polygonal shapes. The frames can easily be constructed to the size needed without the use of tools, except perhaps a table knife or equivalent. The side members can be secured in the connecting pieces by barb clips which fit into sockets defined by the connecting pieces. The barb clips have a barbed spike that pierces and anchors in the foam, thereby locking the side members in place. The barb clips also hold the edge of the poster or other document in the frame. Additional stability and strength can be provided by pressing barb clips into the mid-spans of the rigid foam side members and threading a tension line through loops defined by the barb clips and tying the line in a taut closed loop.

Abstract: Various dual-medium articles which advantageously combine two mediums, metal for appearance and durability, and cardboard which affords high quality printing. The articles include a generally rectangular metal substrate having front and rear sides, and a cardboard insert sheet adjacent the rear side. The metal substrate includes a central main portion, four edge marginal portions terminating in respective substrate edges, and four corner marginal portions. The marginal portions surround the central main portion, sharing respective boundaries therewith, and are rolled towards the substrate rear side and around such that the substrate edges contact the insert sheet so as to hold the insert sheet in position. The rolled marginal portions together define a continuous bead around the periphery of the card without any exposed sharp edges. In some embodiments the rolled edges are replaced by hinge sleeves.

Abstract: A cardholder for displaying a card including a transparent base with a wall having a slot therein, a transparent cover having a flange extending therefrom, and a threaded fastener wherein the flange on the cover engages the slot in the wall and the threaded fastener engages apertures in both the base and cover to secure the card holder in a closed position.

Abstract: A protective jacket for use in a method of framing a picture. The jacket is designed to fit within the existing frame of the picture, allowing the picture to be viewed under near optimal conditions whilst affording protection against fire or impact damage. The jacket comprises a fire-resistant laminated glazing material for viewing the picture and a metal sub-frame for providing impact resistance. The jacket may also be air-tight or water-tight.
