Abstract: A toothbrush apparatus for dispensing toothpaste to the bristles having a generally hollow head portion attached to a generally hollow receiving portion, capable of receiving and supporting a paste cartridge. The toothbrush also contains a handle portion, which is attached to the receiving portion at the opposite side of the head portion. The handle portion contains a plunger and a sliding button configured such that the plunger is located inside the head portion and is capable of sliding in and out of said head portion and receiving portion. A paste cartridge containing paste and having a hole and a stopper located at opposite ends is placed in the receiving portion such that the hole of the paste cartridge is connected to the head portion of the device. When the sliding button slides towards the head portion, the plunger moves inside the paste cartridge forcing the stopper to move towards the head portion and forcing paste from the cartridge toward the head portion and to the bristles of the toothbrush.

Abstract: A tooth cleaning assembly including a rack, and at least one detachable toothpaste squeezing assembly mounted on the rack. The assembly further includes a base, a toothpaste cylinder having a lower end fitted in the base, an annular member arranged at an upper end of the toothpaste cylinder, a cover fitted on a top of the toothpaste cylinder and mounted on the annular member, a tubular neck telescopically fitted in the toothpaste cylinder, a cap pivotally connected with an upper end of the tubular neck, and a movable knob extending through the rack to be detachably engaged with a bottom of the base. At least one toothbrush is detachably mounted on the annular member, and at least one spring mug is fitted within the rack, so that all commonly used tooth brushing articles are combined into one unit thereby making them convenient to use and arranging them in a tidy manner.

Abstract: A liquid dispenser arrangement includes a self-contained pump and a discharge head. The pump has a liquid reservoir, while the discharge head has an applicator construction and an aperture. The aperture will be in liquid flow communication with the liquid reservoir. The discharge head is constructed and arranged to selectively take in liquid from an external liquid source through the aperture and convey the liquid to the liquid reservoir, when a pressure differential is established between the liquid reservoir and the external liquid source by the pump. The discharge head is also constructed and arranged to selectively eject liquid from the liquid reservoir through the aperture for distribution by the applicator construction. The applicator construction preferably includes a molded, flexible member with the aperture being in a portion of the flexible member. Methods of assembly and use are also disclosed.

Abstract: A toothbrush with multiple pumping systems including a head portion having three rows of a plurality of outlet ports formed therein. The head portion has a plurality of bristles secured thereto. An elongated handle portion removably couples with the head portion. The handle portion has a hollow interior in communication with the hollow interior of the head portion. Three manual pumps are slidably disposed within the handle portion. Three tubes are removably disposed within the head portion and the handle portion disposed between the outlet ports of the head portion and the three pumps. The three tubes hold quantities of liquid toothpaste, mouthwash, and antibacterial rinse.

The back of the hollow brush head is provided with a flip open back cap that is in connection with the brush head toothpaste passageway and which is moveable into an open position to allow for cleaning of the brush head toothpaste passageway between uses.

Abstract: A liquid dispensing mechanism contained in a handle of a cleaning implement. The handle includes internal upper and lower valve assemblies sealably mounted within the handle to provide an air tight chamber therebetween for holding liquid. The upper valve assembly includes a push button actuator for introducing air into the chamber. The lower valve assembly includes a dispensing outlet for discharging the liquid from the chamber. When air is introduced into the air tight chamber through the upper valve assembly, a corresponding amount of liquid is dispensed from the chamber and out from the handle through the dispensing outlet.

Abstract: A sponge mop includes a post extending through a top of a frame and the frame has two extensions on each of which a roller is connected. A sponge is located between the two rollers. A lever handle is pivotally connected to the post and a link is fixedly connected between the lever handle and the ridge. A tank is connected to the post and receives cleaning detergent therein. An outlet extends from a lower end of the tank and is engaged with the hole in the frame. A seal member is removably engaged with the outlet and a control assembly is received in the tank. A lower end of the control assembly is connected to the seal member and an operation handle on a top of the control assembly is engaged with the top hole so that when rotating the operation handle, the detergent flows to the sponge.

Abstract: A multipurpose liquid applicator that combines bathing functions one comprehensive unit, having no powered components. The applicator has a long handle for cleaning hard to reach areas such as the back, and an upper hollow handle section that acts a reservoir for liquid soap, suntan lotion, moisturizing lotion, etc. Liquids may be either poured directly into the reservoir or, using the lower handle which fits within the upper section and acts as a suctioning and pumping device, the liquids may be extracted from their containers into the reservoir for temporary storage and thereafter, pumped into the applicator head and to the applicator for use in cleansing. Abstract: A knock type applicator includes a cylindrical shell having a coating liquid storage chamber, a writing tip slidably inserted into an opening portion formed in a distal end of the cylindrical shell, and a valve mechanism between the writing tip and the coating liquid storage chamber. The valve mechanism has a valve element connected to the writing tip. Ribs are formed in an inner wall of the opening portion of the cylindrical shell in a lengthwise direction of the cylindrical shell. The diameter of an inscribed circle connecting apexes of the ribs is dimensioned smaller than the maximum diameter of the writing tip. By this, the ribs bite or project into the writing tip which is advanced in combination with the valve element during knocking operation. As a consequence, the writing tip is cracked by the ribs projected therein.

Abstract: A sponge mop includes a handle having an assembly frame connected to a lower end thereof and a cleaning tank is connected to the assembly frame. The assembly frame has two separated parts and each part having a roller connected thereto so that a sponge is connected between the two rollers. A lever member is pivotally connected to the handle and two siderails are connected between the sponge and the lever member. A valve is connected between the cleaning tank and the sponge so that when operating the valve to an open position, the detergent in the tank flows to the sponge.

Abstract: A liquid dispenser arrangement includes a self-contained pump and a discharge head. The pump has a liquid reservoir, while the discharge head has an applicator construction and an aperture. The aperture will be in liquid flow communication with the liquid reservoir. Abstract: In a method for disinfecting the brush head of a toothbrush, disinfecting bristles (20, 200) are mounted on a substrate and are wetted with a disinfectant (15). The wetted disinfecting bristles are inserted between toothbrush bristles (17) of a toothbrush head (11) and maintained between the toothbrush bristles for a time selected to disinfect the toothbrush bristles. The bristles can be inserted between the toothbrush bristles dry and subsequently wetted with the disinfectant. An apparatus for performing the method is disclosed.

Abstract: A toothpaste dispensing toothbrush includes a housing for storing toothpaste therein. Also included is a hollow brush assembly coupled to the housing. A plurality of bristles extend from the brush assembly. Further, at least one opening is formed in the brush assembly which is in communication with the housing. A valve is mounted on the brush assembly for selectively allowing the passage of the toothpaste through the opening.

Abstract: An improved bottle brush includes a brush, a squeeze bottle having an internal cavity and a feed tube of predetermined configuration extending from the brush into the internal cavity of the bottle. A liquid cleaning agent partially fills the internal cavity and partitions it into a region of liquid and a superadjacent region of foam. The foam is produced initially by shaking the bottle and is maintained automatically by the shaking action of scrubbing. The bottle brush is usable in a foam-feed and a liquid-feed mode, and the predetermined configuration of the feed tube is determined such that it opens into the region of foam when used in the foam-feed mode and opens into a region of liquid when used in the liquid-feed mode. In either mode, foam or liquid respectively is controllably dispensed without wastage of the liquid cleaning agent by gently squeezing the bottle.

Abstract: A toothbrush with a refillable toothpaste chamber which provides for the storage of toothpaste of choice within the handle section is disclosed. The toothpaste tube mates with a matching threaded connection on the lower surface of the handle to allow filling of the present invention with no or minimal wasted toothpaste. When the conventional toothpaste tube is removed, a pressurizing pump is installed to allow the user to pressurize the toothpaste chamber. To dispense the toothpaste product, the user simply activates a valve to allow the flow of toothpaste up the handle of the toothbrush where it exits from within the brush assembly of the toothbrush. The toothpaste chamber holds a sufficient amount of toothpaste to allow for several tooth brushing cycles or for a period of use during short travel times. When the internal supply is depleted, the present invention is refilled by repeating the above process.

Abstract: A combination fluid container cap and basting brush assembly includes a cap member having a circular top wall with a continuous side wall perpendicularly depending therefrom. The cap member may be threadedly coupled with a conventional fluid container. On the top wall of the cap member is a depression having an aperture therein through which a fluid may be dispensed from the container. A lid hingedly engages the top wall of the cap member and is dimensioned to seat within the depression for covering the dispensing aperture. A brush member is removably attached to the top wall immediately adjacent the lid which may be used as a basting brush. When the lid is in an open position, it functions as a splash guard for preventing fluid from contacting the brush while being dispensed through the aperture.

Abstract: A cleaning implement is provided with an internal valve for automatic water shut-off which can be regulated by hand. The implement connects to a conventional water supply, for example, a garden hose. When the valve is open, water is supplied through a removable sponge or brush to a surface to be cleaned. The valve is opened when two portions of the implement are pivoted with respect to each other. This can be done by pressing the sponge or brush against a surface to be cleaned, pivoting the two portions of the implement and thereby opening the valve. Alternatively, the two portions can be held by handles, one in either hand, and pivoted to open and close the valve. An opening is provided in the brush or sponge to allow water to stream from a nozzle to the surface to be cleaned, unobstructed. A soap dispenser is also incorporated into the implement. The nozzle and soap dispenser direct fluid from the user when the implement is held in the hands. The implement may be used with other fluids not water.

Abstract: A filling toothbrush having a hollow handle providing a supply space for toothpaste. A toothpaste dischage aperture is provided on the outer end of the handle beneath the bristles. A conduit inside the handle connects the aperture to the supply space at the inner end of the handle where a pump forces toothpaste through the conduit. The supply space has a cross-section increasing toward the pump in two stages provided by a first cylinder and a second cylinder within the handle. A piston within said first cylinder moves downwardly to push toothpaste toward the pump at the inner end of the handle. The second cylinder has a piston in the form of a ring having a width sufficient to span the difference in diameters of the first and second cylinders. An inwardly projecting flange on the ring piston is engaged by the first piston as it moves toward the pump and the two pistons then move in unison to expel toothpaste from the second cylinder.

Abstract: A brush applicator device is disclosed herein which is adapted for use with a squeeze tube. The applicator device includes an annular mounting member which has an opening extending completely therethrough. The applicator device is adapted to be threadably connected to the squeeze tube and includes a plurality of bristles connected at one end of the mounting member. An extension member extends from one end of the mounting member and terminates in the middle of the bristle members so that material squeezed into the opening from the squeeze tube travels to and is discharged in the middle of the bristle members. A wedge shaped annular sealing member is attached to the mounting member in the area of connection to the end of the squeeze tube and facilitates sealing between the mounting member and the squeeze tube. A bristle area adaptor is also disclosed for use with the brush applicator for the purpose of reducing the area of the bristles when a finer and/or precise area is needed.

Abstract: An applicator tool includes a housing for holding a disposable cartridge containing liquid such as glue, caulk or sealant. The cartridge has a flexible nozzle at one end and a plunger at another end. To dispense liquid from the cartridge, the applicator tool supplies air pressure behind the plunger to drive the plunger toward the nozzle, thereby forcing the liquid through the nozzle. To stop dispensing liquid from the cartridge, the applicator tool removes driving pressure on the plunger and clamps the nozzle between two pistons so that the liquid cannot flow through the nozzle. The applicator tool also includes a rotatable brush mounted on the housing and a pneumatic motor within the housing for rotating the brush. The tip of the cartridge nozzle extends out of the housing and into the brush, and as liquid flows out of the nozzle the rotating brush spreads the liquid onto a surface.

Abstract: A brush with automatic water shut-off is disclosed. The brush includes a handle portion pivotally connected to a body portion with a valve chamber intermediate to control water flow through the brush. A flutter valve is loosely positioned within the valve chamber and is continuously biased toward the valve chamber seat by the water pressure. An operating rod is movable within the body portion and extends past the plane of the seat. When the brush is not in use, water pressure forces the flutter valve toward the seat and contact between the flutter valve and the operating rod causes the body portion and handle portion to be pivotally offset with no water flowing. When the brush bristles contact the surface to be cleaned, the body and brush portions are urged into axial alignment about the pivot whereby the operating rod will force the flutter valve off of its seat, thereby automatically causing water flow through the brush.

The container is joined with a specially structured brush body that completes a one touch system by matching the characteristics of a brush capable of containing a large amount of water. The inherent nature of the soap will produce a massive lather after it contacts the water and is brushed on one's face, thus achieving the lather required for shaving. In particular, the present invention is applicable to a brush having long hair (above 2.5 cm). A control valve is located between the relief valve and automatic fluid dispensing equipment for delivering fluids to the brush during a wash cycle. A bypass is provided in the control valve that permits water to drain into the handle when the control valve is closed, as for example between wash cycles. Pressure thus builds up in the handle behind the relief valve whereupon the valve periodically opens to relieve the pressure.

The other end of the first member has a plurality of spaced openings. A second hollow elongated member has two opposite ends, one of which engages the other end of the first member. A plate disposed in the second member intermediate its ends has openings aligned with the first member openings. An element slidably disposed in the second member has openings which can be moved into alignment with the plate and member openings or which can be moved out of such alignment. A brush having parallel bristles with powder applying tips is disposed in the third member with the tips disposed adjacent the second member. The brush and third member have manually operated cooperating elements for establishing a first position at which the bristles extend almost entirely out of the third member and a second position at which the bristles are disposed within the third member.

Abstract: A hollow elongated capsule containing cosmetic powder slides removably into an open end of a first elongated hollow member. The other end of the first member has a plurality of spaced openings. A second hollow elongated member has one end with like openings which is engaged to the other end of the first member. These two members have a first position of relative rotation at which the openings are aligned and a second position at which these openings are out of alignment. A third elongated hollow member has an open end detachably engaging the opposite end of the second member. A brush having parallel bristles with powder applying tips is disposed in the third member with the tips disposed adjacent the second member.

Abstract: A first elongated hollow member has a first open end and an opposite closed end with a plurality of small spaced openings therein. A hollow elongated capsule, adapted to be filled with cosmetic powder, closed at one end and open at the other, is removably slidable into and out of the first member. The capsule, when inserted in the first member, has its open end adjacent the second end of the first member and its closed end closing the first end of the second member. A second elongated hollow member has first and second open ends, the first member having its closed end disposed in the first end of the second member. The second member has a cam in the first end with openings aligned with the openings in the closed end of the first member.

Abstract: A fluid pressure cleaning apparatus for cleaning large or inaccessible surfaces, such as a floor or truck sidewall. A housing has a manifold assembly mounted in the interior thereof with a plurality of linearly aligned spray nozzles spaced apart to provide a continuous spray or curtain of cleaning fluid to the surface to be cleaned. Portions of the manifold assembly extend through the housing and are connected to a handle assembly. A first brush array lines the outer edges of the housing and confines the spray from the manifold assembly and assists in cleaning the surface. A second array of scrub brushes is provided within the periphery of the first array. In one form of the cleaning apparatus the manifold assembly has a fluid discharge port and a valve selectively operable to open and close the port. When the valve is closed high pressure fluid is discharged from the nozzles to wash and rinse the surface. Detergent and fluid is directed unto the surface when the valve is open.

Abstract: A toothbrush includes an elongated shank suitable for mounting onto a toothpaste container at a first end thereof and having a brush head at a second end. A plurality of bristles are carried by the brush head and extend outwardly from an upper surface thereof. A longitudinal passageway extends from the first end of the shank, through the shank, and exits in an opening within the bristles of the brush head. A slide mechanism is mounted in an elongated channel in the upper surface of the shank and is in slidable engagement therewith. The slide extends along the shank and into the brush head and has a first end disposed within the bristles which is formed in a plug complementary with the opening. The slide can be moved from a first position in which the plug completely covers the opening to a second position in which the opening is uncovered.

Abstract: Disclosed is a package for dispensing flowable materials such as powders and liquids, particularly those intended for cosmetic use. A cover (30) fits snugly against chamber wall (12) and overlies dispensing opening (14). Removal of the cover draws a measured quantity of flowable product (50) through conduit (40) and out of the dispensing opening. A vent opening (22) through the chamber wall is preferably provided to permit the interior of the chamber to adjust to atmospheric pressure. And, a cover relief opening (32) is preferably provided to permit easy replacement of the cover and control of the quantity of product dispensed.
