  • Patent number: 9696149
Abstract: An automatic seam detection machine is disclosed herein, including a conveying device and a seam detection device. The conveying device includes a feeding station, provided with a feed valve. When a sample can is conveyed to the feeding station, the feed valve opens and the sample can arrives at the detecting station of the seam detection device through the feed valve. Since more sample cans can be placed in the conveying device, operators can place batches of sample cans in the conveying device in one time; and the sample cans can be automatically conveyed to the feeding station by the conveying device, then conveyed to the seam detection device for detection automatically by opening the feed valve. Compared with prior arts, this invention can achieve automatic feeding, so as to facilitate the batch detection, with high degree of automation.

Abstract: Disclosed is a resin-coated Al sheet with which a drawn and ironed can having a lustrous appearance can be formed. An upper limit of a thickness of an outer surface resin layer which covers an Al surface which becomes an outer surface of the can and has an arithmetical mean roughness (Ra) of 0.5 ?m or less with a thickness which falls within a range of 0.02 ?m to 6 ?m is determined based on an arithmetical mean roughness (Ra) of the Al surface, wherein the upper limit of the thickness of a coating outer-surface resin layer is decreased when the arithmetical mean roughness (Ra) is increased.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the manufacture of two-piece cans, comprising body and cover, with the most varied shapes of bodies, enabling expansion by means of various processes through the specific tooling, that expands the format desired to be obtained. The body of the can (1) is transported (2) for equipment (3) and, via a transport system with endless screw (4), which rotates synchronously, by means of gears (5), with the star input (6) via cardan shaft (14) and angled gearbox (15). By means of gears (8), the can body (1) is transferred to the expansion station (7), input by the star (6), where the expansion takes place the can body in two parts (1). Using this same type of synchronism, by means of gears (10 and 11), the can body is transferred expanded, the station (7) for a conveyor belt exit (13) by means of a star outlet (9).

Abstract: A method of constructing an inner glass-lined steel tank is described. The lower edge of the top dome shell is machined wherein a smooth angulated surface is formed between an outer and an inner surface of the top dome shell to form a smooth angulated surface to eliminate abrupt transition edges. Also, couplings are machined and press-fitted into the tank wall to form smooth surfaces with the inner surface of the tank. When the porcelain enamel is sprayed inside the tank there are no sharp edges which often results in defects due to the fact that the porcelain enamel is not properly adhered thereto. Such defects eventually cause corrosion within the inner tank and greatly reduce the life expectancy thereof as well as the life expectancy of the sacrificial anode connected to the tank and extending therein.
