  • Patent number: 7121936
Abstract: An apparatus to facilitate the replacement of a grinding wheel secured to a mounting plate. The apparatus includes a frame having two spaced-apart uprights. An elongated support bar extends between and is pivotally mounted to the uprights while a mounting plate of a grinding wheel is detachably secured to the support bar. A lift table is mounted to the frame between the uprights and movable between a raised position in which the lift table is positioned adjacent the support bar and a lowered position in which the lift table is spaced downwardly from the support bar. The lift table is dimensioned to support a grinding wheel. An actuator is mounted to the frame and selectively moves the lift table between its raised and lowered positions.

  • Patent number: 7118468
Abstract: A floor sanding vacuum is designed to be used in conjunction with floor sanding machines to provide a near dust free process for sanding floors. A displacement blower is driven by a gasoline or electric motor which creates a high vacuum that draws air through the sanding machine via a flexible hose connected to a cyclone separator where the sanding debris drops into an integral hopper. After the cyclone, the air is drawn through an air filter to the blower where the cleaned air is discharged through either an optional integral silencer built into the base of the vacuum or a commercially available silencer for noise reduction.

  • Patent number: 7029386
Abstract: A retaining ring assembly for use in chemical mechanical polishing that includes an annular plastic retaining ring portion defining an annular projection thereon, an annular metal backing defining an annular channel therein for receiving the projection and a pair of elongated spring members concentrically disposed about the annular projection on the retaining ring. The channel in the backing is sized so as to receive the annular projection on the retaining ring and spring members therein upon the retaining ring being urged against the backing whereupon the spring members bear against the projection on the retaining ring and portions of the annular backing so as to releasably secure the retaining ring to the backing such that the retaining ring can be replaced upon becoming worn during use and the metal backing can be reused.

  • Patent number: 6896604
Abstract: A dust abatement vacuum hood, provided for a flush-cutting concrete saw, includes a rigid shell that is preferably either vacuum formed or injection molded from a tough polymeric material that may be reinforced with structural fibers. Alternatively, the vacuum hood may be stamped or cast from a durable metal. The vacuum hood is equipped with a vacuum port to which one end of a vacuum hose may be attached. The opposite end of the vacuum hose is attached to a vacuum cleaner system. The vacuum hood has a spring-mounted attachment bracket that can be bolted directly to the concrete saw. As the blade of the concrete saw rotates, pulverized concrete is discharged into a chamber opening of the vacuum hood. Internally, the vacuum hood is shaped so that the pulverized concrete is directed toward the vacuum port, from where it is directed to the vacuum cleaner system.
