Abstract: In one embodiment, a method provides a game for a first player. The method receives timing information for a second player that competed in a first instance of the game participated in by the second player and determines a set of parameters for an opponent in a second instance of the game based on the timing information. The second player started competing in the first instance of the game before the second instance of the game is started. Then, the opponent is created based on the set of parameters for the second instance of the game. After which, the method provides the second instance of the game in which the first player competes with the opponent. The opponent is automatically controlled in the second instance of the game by a game controller to perform according to the set of parameters.

Abstract: A multi-instance, multi-user animation platform includes a plurality of modeled parallel dimensions in a computer memory. Each of the parallel dimensions may be an independent model of a physical, three-dimensional space having corresponding features such that the parallel dimensions are recognizable as counterparts to each other. Avatars are located within corresponding ones of the parallel dimensions so as to prevent over-population of any one of the parallel dimensions by avatars. Avatars are animated within different ones of the parallel dimensions using input from respective users to provide virtual-reality data. A common space is modeled in the computer memory configured in relation to the plurality of parallel instances so that an object located inside the common space is visible from viewpoints located inside each of the plurality of parallel instances. Remote clients may output an animated display of a corresponding one of the parallel dimensions and avatars therein.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a gaming system and method modifying of one or more options provided to a player based on the player's previously chosen options. When a triggering event occurs, the gaming system displays an indication of each of a first plurality of options and enables the player to choose one of the first plurality of options. The gaming system stores player choice data representing the player's chosen one of the first plurality of options. Upon an occurrence of one or more modification events, the gaming system modifies the first plurality of options based at least in part on which of the first plurality of options were previously chosen by the player. Following a subsequent occurrence of the triggering event, the gaming system displays an indication of each of the modified first plurality of options and enables the player to choose one of the modified first plurality of options.

Abstract: In certain implementations, a presentation of a virtual counterpart of an action figure may be provided based on action figure state information obtained via wireless communication with the action figure. As an example, an action figure may be detected within a short wireless communication range of a computer system. A wireless connection between the computer system and the action figure may be established based on the detection. Action figure state information identifying a position of a moveable part of the action figure relative to another part of the action figure may be received at the computer system from the action figure via the wireless connection. The relative position may be related to a pose exhibited by the action figure. A virtual counterpart of the action figure may be presented based on the relative position such that the virtual counterpart exhibits the same pose as the action figure.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a gaming system projecting volumetric images onto a physical scene that includes a background and props positioned in front of the background. A gaming engine causes a projector to project an image onto the physical scene. A pointer device receives triggering commands from an operator. A camera captures an image of a portion of the physical scene being targeted by the pointer device. The captured portion includes lighting points emitted by the physical scene, the captured lighting points forming a specific pattern. A targeting system uses the specific pattern as a reference to identify a three-dimensional position of a target located within the captured portion and causes the gaming engine to modify a visible feature of the target when a when a triggering command is received at the pointer device.
