  • Patent number: 12059609
Abstract: A tracking system uses a dynamic vision sensor (DVS) operably coupled to the processor. The DVS has an array of light-sensitive elements in a known configuration. The DVS outputs signals corresponding to two or more events at two or more corresponding light-sensitive elements in the array in response to changes in light output from two or more light sources mounted in a known configuration with respect to each other and with respect to a controller. The output signals indicate times of the events and locations of the corresponding light-sensitive elements. The processor determines an association between each event and two or more corresponding light sources and fits a position and orientation of the controller using the determined association, the known configuration of the light sources and the locations of the corresponding light-sensitive elements in the array.

Abstract: An example of an information processing system displays on a display device two or more selection candidates each corresponding to a game character in a draw mode. In the draw mode, a game character corresponding to a selected selection candidate is granted to the user in exchange for decreasing a predetermined parameter. When a cumulative grant count becomes equal to or greater than a reference count, the information processing system permits execution of a designated mode. In the designated mode, a game character designated by the user is granted to the user. In the draw mode, the information processing system accepts a selection instruction until an end process is performed even after the cumulative grant count becomes equal to or greater than the reference count.

  • Patent number: 12047546
Abstract: A method for controlling the video display of a virtual 3D object or scene on a 2D display device is provided. A virtual video camera, controlled by a virtual-video-camera state variable consisting of camera control and location parameters, generates the 2D video of the object or scene. A target virtual camera state, representing an optimal view of a given surface point, is generated for each model surface point. A 2D coordinate of the image display is received from a user, either by looking at a point or selecting it with a mouse click. A corresponding 3D designated object point on the surface of the object is calculated from the received 2D display coordinate. The virtual camera is controlled to move its view toward the 3D designated object point with dynamics that allow the user to easily follow the motion of the designated object point as he watches the video.

Abstract: A processor system (200) processes image data from a camera (20) to render a virtual object in a 3D virtual environment and communicate via a network to a server system (300). A processor (220) obtains image data of the physical space from the camera and second data of a second device (30). The processor system sends the image data, the second data and a calibration command to the server system. In the server, a processing resource (320) processes the data according to the calibration command and sends calibration data indicative of a camera pose and a second pose of the second device. The processor generates 3D object data of the object by processing the image data based on the calibration data. The 3D object data is provided for rendering the virtual object in the 3D virtual environment. So, the processor is in control, while the calibration is executed by the server.

Abstract: A DVS has an array of light-sensitive elements in a known configuration and outputs signals corresponding to events at corresponding light-sensitive elements in the array in response to changes in light output from two or more light sources in a known configuration with respect to each other and with respect to a controller body. The signals indicate times of the events and array locations of the corresponding light-sensitive elements. Abstract: Embodiments of the systems and methods disclosed herein provide a game that includes at least two users that each have a preconfigured set of playable virtual entities. The users draw playable virtual entities from each of their respective sets of playable virtual entities, and can play the playable virtual entities in one or more battles to facilitate moving a virtual positional marker towards a goal or shooting a goal, wherein the battle procedures are based on a turn priority. Certain attributes are associated with the playable virtual entities so that playable virtual entity effects, OVR values, and salary values can affect which playable virtual entities are in a deck and how the playable virtual entities are affected by the location of the virtual positional marker and/or other playable virtual entities.

Abstract: In an exemplary process, a virtual object is displayed in an enhanced reality setting. A request to transfer the virtual object is received, wherein a determination is made whether a set of one or more virtual object transfer criteria is satisfied. Movement of the virtual object away from an avatar is displayed in accordance with a determination that the set of one or more virtual object transfer criteria is satisfied. Displaying movement includes determining whether a size of the virtual object satisfies a set of one or more size criteria. In accordance with a determination that the size of the virtual object satisfies the set of one or more size criteria, a reduction in the size of the virtual object is displayed. In accordance with a determination that the size of the virtual object does not satisfy the set of one or more size criteria, displaying of a reduction in the size of the virtual object is foregone.

Abstract: Techniques for improving a graphical user interface are described. In an example, a computer system receives event data from a plurality of user devices. Each event data includes an identifier of an activity in a video game, completion data indicating completion of the activity, and location data indicating where the activity was completed in the video game. The identifier can be predefined in program code of the video game. The event data can be received based on an execution of the program code. The event data is processed to determine where the likely location for completing the activity in the video game. This likely location is shown as a graphical user interface element in a map.

Abstract: A waveguide apparatus includes a planar waveguide and at least one optical diffraction element (DOE) that provides a plurality of optical paths between an exterior and interior of the planar waveguide. A phase profile of the DOE may combine a linear diffraction grating with a circular lens, to shape a wave front and produce beams with desired focus. Waveguide apparati may be assembled to create multiple focal planes. The DOE may have a low diffraction efficiency, and planar waveguides may be transparent when viewed normally, allowing passage of light from an ambient environment (e.g., real world) useful in AR systems. Light may be returned for temporally sequentially passes through the planar waveguide. The DOE(s) may be fixed or may have dynamically adjustable characteristics. An optical coupler system may couple images to the waveguide apparatus from a projector, for instance a biaxially scanning cantilevered optical fiber tip.

Abstract: Methods, computer-readable media, and computing devices are described herein for restoring gameplay by replaying past inputs. During gameplay, capture logic captures participant inputs that were received to change states of game objects. The capture logic stores the captured information in an electronic record of period(s) of the gameplay. After the period(s) of gameplay, replay logic receives a request to initiate subsequent gameplay beginning from a point in time from a period of past gameplay. The replay logic causes the subsequent gameplay to begin from the point at least in part by loading saved state information and replaying the captured participant inputs.

Abstract: Automated detection of events in content can be performed using regions of information associated with various user interface or display elements. Certain elements can be indicative of a type of event, and regions associated with these elements can be analyzed on a per-frame basis. If one of these primary regions shows a state or transition that is indicative of one of these events, one or more secondary regions can be analyzed as well to attempt to verify whether that event occurred, as well as whether that event qualifies for selection for additional use. Selected events can be used for purposes such as to generate highlight montages, training videos, or user profiles. These events may be positioned at different layers of an event hierarchy, where child regions are only analyzed for frames where a parent region is indicative of a type of event.
