  • Patent number: 6837029
Abstract: A carton closure method wherein heated end side walls of the open end of a carton are initially infolded to partially close the open end of the carton and thereafter subjected to capture between a backup pad and a pressure pad by a linearly reciprocative cam to which pressure is applied by a cam follower driven in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of linear movement of the cam relative to the backup pad, whereby the cam is moved between positions wherein there is applied pressure against the partially infolded portions of the end side walls of a carton blank to effect a sealing pressure against such infolded portions and a position wherein no material pressure is applied to the partially infolded end side walls of the carton blank, the cam movement being facilitated by a multi-faceted geometry of the camming face of the cam.

Abstract: There is provided a foldable product, such as a map, which is formed from a sheet (10) of material such as stiff paper. The sheet (10) has predetemlined folded and unfolded configurations by virtue of a predetermined pattern of fold lines (12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 23, 24). The fold lines are provided partly by creases and partly by lines of perforations depending on the stress in a particular area during folding and unfolding.

  • Patent number: 6776747
Abstract: This is a method for assembling a dual inner flexible insulated pouch. A flat sheet of heat-sealable film is folded in such a manner as to form a dual inner pouch with two pocket openings at a bottom side and a pouch opening at a top side. The film is sealed by heat to form a permanent dual inner pouch structure containing two pockets each having an opening at the bottom side. One panel of flexible insulation material is inserted into each of the openings of the two pockets of the dual inner pouch at the bottom side. The bottom side of the pouch is placed into a bag formed of film so that the open ends of the pockets at the bottom side of the pouch are at a bottom closed end of the bag formed of film. The bag formed of film is heated so that it is sealed to the dual inner pouch.

Abstract: The top of a carton, with opposite main panels and opposite side panels, has an inner and outer major flap hinged to opposite main panels. The outer major flap has a fold line extending along its length in parallel to a hinge line joining the outer major flap and a main panel. At each side panel, an ear has an ear portion hinged to the side panel and an ear portion hinged to the outer major flap. With this arrangement, the carton may be re-closed by pressing the ears down against the outer major flap so that the outer major flap folds about fold line into a concave V-shape.

Abstract: A compression supporting package divider set. Within the scope of the invention, there is a divider having an upper edge and a spaced-apart lower edge, the upper and lower edges being connected by a side edge forming an end of the divider. A cut line extends from one of the upper and lower edges to an interior point of the divider spaced from the upper and lower edges and from the side edge. A fold line for folding the divider defines an axis of rotation intersecting the upper and lower edges and terminates at the interior point. The fold line is provided such that a first side flange portion of the divider defined between the cut line and the axis of rotation rotates about the axis together with a second side flange portion of the divider defined between the fold line and the side edge, thereby causing the first and second side flange portions to extend on opposite sides of the divider.
