Patent number: 4931536Abstract: Hydroxy functional acrylamido amino resins comprising hydroxy-hydrocarbyl groups. The resins are produced by reaction of alkoxymethyl amino resins with acrylamide to introduce acrylamidomethyl groups and then with a polyol to introduce hydroxy functionality. The hydroxy functional acrylamido amino resins may be epoxidized to form polyglycidamides which can then be formulated with epoxy reactants to provide curable epoxy systems.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1988Date of Patent: June 5, 1990Assignee: Monsanto CompanyInventor: William F. Patent number: 4874858Abstract: At least three, and as many as eighteen, most preferably at least nine, crosslinking sites are provided through the alkoxy groups in multiple chains on a triazine ring (hence "multisilane"), on a single molecule of the multisilane. The multisilane, useful as a coupling agent, is formed by reacting a triazine-containing compound with a suitable aminoalkyl-alkoxysilane, or, alkyl-aminoalkyl-alkoxysilane in either an anhydrous, or an aqueous liquid medium. A size containing the multisilane, enhances the reinforced properties of organic synthetic resinous materials in which the fibers are used, and most particularly those of rigid poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) with which it provides cohesive bonding of glass fiber surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1988Date of Patent: October 17, 1989Assignee: The B.
