Portion Of Body Entering Conduit Stored In Material Receiving Syringe Reservoir Patents (Class 604/195)
  • Patent number: 8690825
Abstract: The present invention relates to a safety syringe. The safety syringe comprises a barrel having a plurality of elastic support units in the inner side, a plunger having a rubber ring and a first coupling portion at the front-end, and an injection head unit comprising a first needle seat, a second needle seat, and a needle, wherein the second needle seat comprises a second coupling portion. When the injection head unit is mounted on the front-end opening, the second needle seat is propped by the plurality of elastic support units preventing the needle seat from being crushed during injection. After injecting, the first coupling portion is pushed to couple with the second coupling portion, and then the needle can be pulled into the barrel for safety.

As a result of this feature, an injection solution (50) contained in the syringe is in contact exclusively with permitted materials and the syringe can therefore be stored pre-filled.

Abstract: A safety injector comprises a needle hub attached by a needle, a hollow barrel for engaging with the needle hub and guiding the needle hub to retract into the hollow barrel, and a plunger combination settled in the hollow barrel. The plunger combination comprises a retractable plunger and a hollow plunger partially telescoped with the retractable plunger, wherein at least one raised portion is formed on an outer wall of the retractable plunger and at a telescoping portion for engaging at least one depression formed on an inner wall of the hollow plunger so that when the plunger combination continuously receives a pushing force after the safety injector is used to perform the injection operation, the retractable plunger can smoothly retract into the hollow plunger. Consequently, a space in the hollow barrel can be spared for accommodating the retracted needle hub.

  • Patent number: 7972300
Abstract: A retractable needle safety syringe is provided having a braking mechanism. The braking mechanism may be disposed at a proximal portion of a syringe body of the syringe. The braking mechanism may comprise a brake member which is traversable between a braking position and a released position. At the braking position, fingers of the brake member frictionally engage an outer surface of the shaft of a plunger of the syringe. The frictional engagement counterbalances a retraction force that urges a piston of the syringe toward a retracted position. When the brake members are traversed to the released position, the fingers do not press against the outer surface of the shaft. As such, the retraction force may traverse the piston toward the retracted position and traverse a needle and needle holder into the body of the syringe.

  • Patent number: 7947020
Abstract: A retractable safety syringe may have a ferrule and needle which are selectively removeable from a distal end of a syringe body. In particular, the ferrule may have an annular flange. A wedge element may be frictionally engaged to the ferrule and a distal end of the syringe body. To retract the needle into the syringe body, a punch of a piston displaces the wedge element off of an annular flange of the ferrule. At about the same time, longitudinally offset tabs engage an annular flange and retract the needle into the syringe body via a retraction force created by a variable vacuum compartment or tension member. Alternatively, the ferrule and needle may be temporarily fixed to the distal end of the syringe body via a detent and/or o-ring which engages a lower undercut groove and an upper undercut groove of the ferrule. An annular ring of the piston may have longitudinal offset tabs which engage an annular ring of the ferrule.
