  • Patent number: 9579463
Abstract: A syringe barrel includes an barrel main body having a cylinder tip at a distal end of the barrel main body; and a cap detachably attached to the cylinder tip by threaded engagement to seal an opening of the cylinder tip. The cylinder tip comprises at least one projection that projects radially from an outer periphery of a proximal end part of the cylinder tip. The cap includes a cylindrical cover that covers an outer periphery of the cylinder tip. A proximal-side inner periphery of the cover comprises a reduced radius portion, and, when the cap is threadedly engaged with the cylinder tip, a distance from a rotation axis of the cap to the reduced radius portion is smaller than a distance from the rotation axis to an outer end of the at least one projection.

  • Patent number: 9446199
Abstract: Syringes and methods of using are described which protect the syringe barrel cavity from contaminants. A first syringe is formed with a corrugated sheath which encloses the plunger and space between the rearward end face surface of the syringe barrel handle member and the forward face of the plunger handle member. A second syringe is formed with a syringe barrel having a straight segment and a corrugated segment having the forward face of the plunger handle member molded to the rearward terminus of the corrugated segment of the syringe barrel. A third syringe is formed from mating syringe barrel and plunger member walls. The walls of the mating syringe barrel and plunger member are concentric and slide relative to each other while maintaining an enclosure around the plunger shaft. A fourth syringe is formed from inner and outer concentric syringe barrel walls mating with the walls of a plunger member.

  • Patent number: 9415169
Abstract: A gasket configured so that a pusher having a male screw thread on the outer periphery of its tip is connected to the gasket through the male screw thread and so that the gasket slides within a syringe outer tube when the pusher is operated in the longitudinal direction. The gasket includes: a gasket body having a hollow section and a female screw thread in the inner peripheral section of the hollow section engaged by the male screw thread; and projections on the outer peripheral section of the gasket body extending circumferentially of the outer peripheral section and axially arranged in spaced relation to each other. When the gasket is not yet inserted into the syringe outer tube, a screw thread located in a portion on the inner side of and in direct proximity to the projection has a smaller height than a screw thread located in the remaining portion.

  • Patent number: 9352105
Abstract: An injection system includes a syringe, which preferably includes larger and smaller inner diameters, and a plunger. A wiper sidewall of the plunger defines a cavity, into which a plunger shaft of the system is inserted, for moving the plunger, within the syringe, for fluid injection. The plunger includes a feature for engaging the shaft, and the sidewall preferably includes a expandable-contractible portion, in which the feature is formed. When the plunger is initially mounted within the larger inner diameter of the syringe, the portion of the sidewall is expanded and the feature of the plunger does not operably engage the inserted shaft. When the shaft moves the plunger into the smaller inner diameter of the syringe, the portion of the sidewall contracts and the feature operably engages the shaft. An optional deformable end wall of the plunger may be spaced apart from a distal terminal end of the inserted shaft.

  • Patent number: 9333301
Abstract: An I.V. flush syringe assembly includes a barrel having an inside surface defining a chamber for retaining fluid, an open proximal end and a distal end with a passageway therethrough in fluid communication with the chamber. An elongate plunger having a proximal end, a distal end and a stopper is slidably positioned in fluid-tight engagement with the inside surface of the barrel for drawing fluid into and out of the chamber by movement of the stopper relative to the barrel. The plunger includes anti-reflux structure for minimizing stopper deflection when fluid has been delivered from the chamber and the stopper is being forced against the distal end of the chamber.
