    Abstract: An improved drug delivery system comprising a gun style injection device used for holding and administering a disposable pre-filled drug cartridge, a holster device used for receiving an end of the gun style injection device and thereafter severing cannula from cartridge and disposing of spent cannulas and cartridges, and an improvement to the drug cartridge is disclosed. The gun style injection device comprises a barrel, a handle, a hinged and spring loaded squeeze lever, and a safety trigger. The holster device comprises a leg protection panel to which a housing is coupled for disposing of spent cartridges. The holster housing is adapted for receiving the barrel of the gun style injection device. The holster housing provides a means for severing the cannula from a used cartridge and disposing of both the cannula and cartridge in separate containers. The cartridge design itself is improved in order to increase the performance of the gun style injection device and the holster cannula severing mechanism.

    Abstract: A resuable safety module-activator reshielding tool having a barrel within which to receive a single use, disposable, needle/medication cartridge from which a pre-filled supply of fluid medication is injected. The cartridge includes a needle cannula that is advanced outwardly of the barrel to administer an injection and retracted inwardly of the barrel at the conclusion of the injection. The cannula is crushed, shielded and discarded all within the cartridge so as to permit a safe handling thereof after use and avoid an accidental needle stick. The activator tool cannot be reused until the injection has been completed, the cannula destroyed and shielded, and the cartridge removed from the barrel for disposal.

In the downward position, the sleeve element closes the jaws around the carpule and in the upward position, the sleeve opens the jaws, permitting the carpule to be safely and consistently ejected form the holder in an axial direction.

    Abstract: The invention provides an universally applicable transfer device for material such animal sperm or embryos to be implanted, having a catheter covered by a sleeve which is generally discarded after use and which is detachably held in place by a clamp, more especially an eccentric gripping device at the proximal end of the catheter. The design of the sleeve end is unimportant. At the distal end the sleeve tapers conically and externally it has a shaped member securing the conical form and a rounded form. The shaped member is mounted on the wall material of the sleeve. The external shaped member may be supplemented by an internal shaped member so that the distal sleeve end is gripped between the two. A cutting means integrated in the device ensures that the cartridges are cut accurately in the desired plane.

    Abstract: A gas ampoule for the shipment and delivery of radioactive gases. The gas ampoule having a glass tube with serum bottle stopper on one end and a plunger tip in the opposite end all fitting in a larger plastic tube threaded on each end with absorbent between the tubes, is seated onto the internal needle assembly via a bushing associated with the plunger and locked into the syringe barrel via barrel-bushing locking caps. The design practically eliminates the possibility of personnel contamination due to an inadvertent exposure of such personnel to the contained radioactive gas.

    Abstract: A device suitable for dispensing a radioactive gas from a sealed radioactive gas-containing vial having a pierceable septum wherein the dispenser contains two needles which pierce the septum, one of the needles conducting the radioactive gas from the vial into the dispenser and the other for the introduction of a displacement gas to the vial. The improvement being a means in the dispenser whereby the septum is automatically released from the needles without handling the vial so that the vial may be removed from the dispenser.
