Abstract: A security box includes an outer box, an inner box and a lock cable. The outer box comprises a compartment adapted to receive the inner box therein. The outer box further comprises a first lock hole. The inner box comprises a second lock hole, a lock core hole, a lock core and a sleeve. The sleeve has a first blind hole and a second blind hole corresponding to the second lock hole and the lock core hole respectively. The lock core has a blind hole corresponding to the first blind hole and the second lock hole. A lock cable has a lock rod at one end and a lock ring at the opposite end thereof. The lock rod is inserted through the first lock hole, the second lock hole, and the first blind hole to be secured in the blind hole of the lock core.

Abstract: A vault assembly generally comprises a lock box, an anchor bracket, and a locking member. The lock box includes a mounting wall having a plurality of outward extending hooks arranged in a spaced pattern and a locking opening. The anchor bracket includes a panel for attachment of the lock box including one or more locking openings and a plurality of joining openings for receiving the hooks. The locking member is disposed in the box and includes a locking shaft for insertion in the locking openings and a locking flange on the end to prevent withdrawal. The lock box mounting wall can be attached in a plurality of positions to either side of the panel.

Abstract: A theft deterrent device includes first and second jaws pivotally connected to one another and pivotally movable between open and closed positions. The jaws form in the closed position an interior chamber and a through passage for receiving therethrough a portion of an article of merchandise. A lock slide is slidable within the interior chamber between locked and unlocked positions and lockable by a lock in the locked position to secure the first and second jaws together in the closed position. The lock slide includes lock hooks which lockably engage lock hooks of the second jaw. The lock slide includes locking and unlocking ledges which a resilient, magnetically attractable lock finger of the lock respectively engages in the locked and unlocked positions. An externally accessible thumb grip operatively engages the lock slide to move it between the locked and unlocked positions. An EAS tag is disposed within the device.

Abstract: A lockable storage case includes a top cover pivotably coupled to a bottom cover through a spine. The top cover includes loops or an upper lock receiving member and a lower lock receiving member defining a top cover lock insertion path. The bottom cover includes loops or an upper lock receiving member and a lower lock receiving member defining a bottom cover lock insertion path. The lower lock receiving members of both the top and bottom covers include hooks for receiving and maintaining a latch. When the top cover is closed on the bottom cover, the top and bottom cover insertion paths combine to form a combined lock insertion path. A lock for the storage case includes first and second catch mechanisms with first and second catches. To lock the storage case, the lock is inserted into the combined lock insertion path so that the catches on the lock mate with and are retained with the hooks in the top and bottom covers.

Abstract: A locking storage case for holding a toothbrush. As two parts of the case are slidably engaged with each other to form an enclosed cavity holding the toothbrush, a combination lock, integrally and rigidly mounted to the parts of the case, becomes engaged for locking the case. A suction cup is provided for hanging the locking case from a smooth surface. A resealable plastic bag is provided within the locking case for sealing the toothbrush from germs and moisture and contaminants, and the resealable bag may have an antibacterial coating on its interior surface. A toothpaste tube may be provided in the cavity, and the toothbrush may have a removable head attached to a body that is joined to one of the case parts.

Abstract: A padlock includes a base shell, a cover shell pivoted to and openably covered on the base shell to define with the base shell a storage chamber therebetween, a shackle movably mounted in the base shell, and two combination lock sets each having a latch engagable with the base shell for locking the cover shell to the base shell, a plurality of numbered wheels extending out of through holes of the cover shell, and a movable plate actuatable by the numbered wheels to move relative to the latch for engaging or disengaging the latch to further have the latch engage or disengage with the base shell so as to lock or unlock the cover shell to the base shell.

Abstract: A method for controlling access to a storage unit owned by an owner, wherein a renter has access to the storage unit unless the owner receives the legal right to deny the renter access to the storage unit and decides to do so. In this method, the storage unit is secured by a lock that is, at least in part, controlled by the renter. A remotely controllable lockout assembly, however, is capable of over locking the storage unit so that the renter can no longer gain entry when the lockout assembly is activated. The method includes remotely controlling the lockout assembly to deny the renter access to the unit when the owner receives the legal right to deny the renter access to the storage unit and decides to do so.

Abstract: A padlock-type lock for suitcases and us of the type constituted by a first half-shell and a second half-shell which are mutually articulated, comprising at least one padlock in which the locking bar is engaged, in a closed configuration, in a first through hole and in a second through hole, which are coaxial and are provided respectively in the first edge and in the second edge of the first half-shell and the second half-shells the padlock forming surfaces for mating with the first first edge and with the second edge, so that in the closed configuration the padlock is retained in a preset safe and minimum-protrusion position.

Abstract: A multi-meter locking bar assembly for locking a plurality of meter boxes of a gang of meter boxes includes a locking bar having opposing first and second ends. A locking device is pivotally fixed relative to the locking bar. The locking device is fixable to one of the meter boxes to lock the locking bar over at least one meter box to lock the meter box.

Abstract: A security storage container has a primary security feature that is adapted to be locked and unlocked with an appropriate key. A secondary security feature is activated when the security storage container is opened without first unlocking the lock with the key. In one embodiment, the secondary security feature includes prongs that are moved to an extended position when the primary security feature of the container is defeated. In the extended position, the prongs will at least damage the item of merchandise protected by the security storage container. The extended position of the prongs may also further lock the item of merchandise within the security storage container.

Abstract: An anti-theft case (1) is disclosed, particularly for videocassettes, DVD, compact disks, cassette tapes, comprising: first and second mutually hinged half-cases (3, 5); a separate opening and closing member (12) and a locking and unlocking member (18) of the case. In order to optimize assembling and costs of the case (1), the two half-cases (3, 5) are of a same shape and size; the opening and closing member (12) is shaped as an elongated slider and is inserted into a seat (20?, 20?) obtained in the half-cases (3, 5); and the locking and unlocking member (18) is composed of a cylindrical pin adapted to go in and out of a seat (22) obtained in the opening and closing member (12).

Abstract: An improved electronic lock system is provided for use with real estate lock boxes. Each user has an identification card with a non-volatile secure memory for exchanging data with the lock box, and for exchanging data with a central computer. The user first inserts the card into a connector at the lock box, or at the central computer. The lock box or central computer must first enable (or unlock) the data in the card memory, and then can read the data stored in that card's memory and record this information in lock box memory. The card must then identify itself, and the user must identify himself/herself to the lock box or central computer. After the identification information is authenticated, the user can enter commands to the lock box; e.g., an access code is manually keyed into the lock box keypad by the user to obtain access to a secure compartment.

Abstract: A gun safe is provided. The safe includes a computer system and is readily located and used by a home owner under the darkness of night. The safe permits a loaded ready-to-use firearm to be stored and accessed safely and quickly. The safe door opens silently and uses motive power provided by gravity. The safe door will open only when the safe correlates biometric data of an individual with biometric data stored in the memory of the computer system used to operate the safe.

Abstract: An alarm ready portable case is provided in which to secure a firearm or other protectable. The case includes sensors, a lock and, in several embodiments, structure to support the article to be protected. The case is adaptable to become part of a pre-existing facility security system of any of a plurality of manufacturers by being configured to receive any of several connectivity elements that are compatible with at least one of the security systems. For example, wireless transmitters that are compatible with different alarm systems may be connected. Terminals may also be directly wired into a hardwired zone of a security alarm panel. Transmitter receiving structure may be provided in the case for holding any such transmitter. Terminals are provided to connect to external wiring. Slots may be provided for communication interface cards, such as ethernet cards, wireless telecommunications cards, or other connectivity hardware.

Abstract: An anti-theft device comprising a container formed by a box (10) and a lid (11) hinged together. A lock slide (15) inside the box can be displaced between a disengaged position and an engaged position. A flange (22) on the lid forms an L-shaped slot. A first limb (23A) of the slot is perpendicular to a free edge of the flange and opens in the edge to receive a projection on the lock slide in the disengaged position thereof. A second limb (23B) of the slot extends transversely of the first limb to receive the projection when the lock slide is in the engaged position. A latch mechanism (26, 28) latching the lock slide in the engaged position can be actuated by a special tool to unlatch the lock slide and allow displacement thereof to the disengaged position.

Abstract: An electronic lock box contains a secure compartment for storing keys to a structure. A linear actuator moves in one direction opening the door to the secure compartment, and moves in the opposite direction releasing a shackle that holds the lock box to the structure. A lock box system uses an encryption algorithm to diversify user PIN data at a central computer, and stores that diversified information on a memory card for later use when the user attempts to access a lock box. The central computer and electronic lock box both keep track of system “epoch time,” and the memory card must be presented to the electronic lock box within a correct epoch time window for the diversified PIN data to be successfully decrypted and compared to the user's PIN data that is entered on a keypad of the electronic lock box.

Abstract: A safe for storing valuables such as guns has an external configuration that resembles a water processing apparatus such as a water heater, water softener, or pressure tank. The safe includes a door that provides access to a dry cavity within the safe for storing valuables. A lock mechanism securely locks the door shut to secure the valuables within the safe. The safe of the preferred embodiments is concealed to look like a water processing apparatus, and includes a lock to deter a thief that happens to discover the safe.

Abstract: A locking mechanism for securing the cover of a thin-walled box to the box frame. The locking mechanism includes a two-piece clip bracket having a stationary bracket member and a movable bracket member pivotally mounted to the stationary bracket member. The stationary bracket member is adapted to engage outside and inside surfaces of a wall of the box frame and remain stationary with respect thereto when the stationary bracket member is in an installation position. The movable bracket member is pivotable relative to the stationary bracket member into and out of engagement with the outside surface of the wall when the stationary bracket member is in the installation position. A lock body is adapted to latch to the movable bracket member and engage the cover. A spacer is mounted to the stationary bracket member and adapted to block movement of the movable bracket relative to the stationary bracket member when the movable bracket member is in engagement with the exterior surface of the wall.

Abstract: A cosmetic compact includes a base and a cover is pivotably connected to a lower end of the base. The base has a ridge located on a top thereof and a recess is defined in the top of the base and located in opposite to the ridge. A U-shaped shackle-like member has a first end pivotably connected to the ridge and a pushing end is defined in a second end of the U-shaped shackle-like member. The cover has a block extending from a top of the cover and the pushing end pushes the block to pivot the cover away from the base when lowering the second end of the shackle-like member.

Abstract: An improved electronic lock system is provided for use with real estate lock boxes where there is the need for many people to access the secured compartment of the lock box in a controlled manner. Each user has an identification card with a non-volatile secure memory (known as a “smart card”), for exchanging data with the lock box, and with a portable computer capable of reading data from the smart card; or a cell phone can be used to gain access information from a central computer. The user first inserts the smart card into the connector attached to the lock box; the lock box reads the user's ID stored in the smart card memory and records this information in lock box memory. The lock box then transfers its access code information and other data to the smart card for further processing. The user then inserts the smart card in a portable card reader to learn the access code, or calls a central computer via a mobile phone system and interacts with the computer to elicit the necessary access code information.

The locking mechanism includes a clip bracket adapted to engage a wall of the box frame, a lock body adapted to latch to the clip bracket and engage the box cover, a locking member carried by the clip bracket and adapted to clamp the clip bracket to the box wall when the locking member is in a clamping position, and a pivotable actuating lever adapted to actuate the locking member into the clamping position. The locking member and the actuating lever can be implemented as a two-piece system comprising first and second pivoting members. Alternatively, the locking member and the actuating lever can be integrally formed as a one-piece system. The locking mechanism is capable of multiple mounting positions on the box without drilling, and uses a spring-loaded plunger assembly that allows for a quick, keyless, slam installation.

Abstract: A lock adapter for an ammunition can having a clamp lever with an aperture includes a rod element received through the aperture and mounted to a side of the can. The rod element incorporates a relieved portion on an end opposite the side of the can and has a length and diameter sized in combination with the relieved portion for clearance of the aperture through an angular displacement of the clamp lever for opening the can. A hole substantially perpendicular to an axis of the rod receives a padlock. A bolt received through a drilled hole in the side of the can engages a tapped bore in the rod. A Bellville washer is placed on the bolt between the side of the can and the head of the bolt. The Bellville washer includes a sealing gasket adjacent the side of the can to seal the bolt and bolt hole preventing moisture from entering the can.

Abstract: A wafer container has an open front defined by a frame for receiving a door. The frame has slots on opposite sides. The door utilizes two latching linkages that extend, lift, lower and retract two latching portions from the edge portion of each opposite side of the door and into and out of latch receptacles on the frame. Each latching mechanism utilizes a sliding plate with a handle connected thereto and exposed on the front of the door. The sliding plate has a pair of lifting linkages cooperating with a pair of latching linkages. Moving the handles outwardly extends the latching portions into the latching receptacles, then pulls the door inwardly to seal the door to the container portion. The sliding plate includes a rack portion engaged with a pinion accessible from the front of the door by a latch key whereby the mechanism can be operated robotically.

Abstract: A display box includes a housing for supporting a product, a lid, and a removable hanger for locking the lid and housing in a closed position. In the unlocked position, the lid is rotatable relative to the housing along an axis of rotation. A set of cooperating locking members are provided on the lid, housing and hanger. In one embodiment, the housing includes a first locking member in the form of a notch, and the lid includes a second locking member of the same type as the housing. The locking hanger includes a pair of corresponding tabs which are sized to fit within the notches. In use, the tabs are inserted within the notches and slid into a locked position to prevent rotation of the lid. To remove the product from within the locked box the hanger must first be removed from engagement with the lid and housing.

Abstract: This lockable latch with catch for use with briefcase type fireproof safes allows the user to carry the safe by its handle (briefcase style) without the lid being locked to the body. It has both a latch and a catch that can pivot or move away from their engagement positions in a plane parallel to, and within, the body of the safe. A release button pivots the latch away from its engagement position and thereby unlatches the latch. Alternatively, a locking member can be interposed so as to prevent the latch from pivoting away from its position of engagement with the catch when the safe is locked. When the locking member is engaged and the latch is thereby locked into engagement position, the ability of the catch to temporarily pivot or move out of the way of the latch still allows the safe lid to snap shut.

A keypad may be preprogrammed with a combination that must be entered to allow access to the long gun. A key operated override mechanism is also provided. An internal chamber contains a removable insert having the outer configuration conforming to the breech, trigger guard and trigger of the long gun. The lid is hinged to the body with a spring biasing the lid in the direction of opening. The latch mechanism includes a strike attached to the lid of the long gun case and a latch mounted within the body of the long gun case. The latch is pivotable and has upper and lower structures that are balanced about the pivot point thereof.

Abstract: A secure firearm holder (10) includes an outwardly swinging hinged plate (14) that is hinged to a holder base (12) with a gun (44) mounted at a side of the plate in a ready-to-use orientation when the plate swings outwardly. In a preferred embodiment, a bore shaft (36) is mounted on the hinged plate, the bore shaft extending into the firearm. When the plate is in a first, closed, position, the holder base prevents the gun from being removed from the bore shaft, but when a motivating member (52) rotates the plate to a second position, the gun can be easily and quickly removed from the bore shaft from a ready-to-use orientation. The motivating member biases the lid toward the second position but is held closed in the first position by a latch (50), which latch is remotely releasable.

Abstract: A padlock having a receiving chamber inside includes a base housing, a shackle set, a numbered wheel set, and a cover housing. It is characterized in that the base housing further includes a base shell extending outwards from a side thereof. A cover shell is pivotably closeably mounted to a side of the base shell for being freely opened and closed. A locking member is disposed for locking the cover shell. The receiving chamber is formed between the cover shell and the base shell. Accordingly, the numbered wheel set can be driven to move to further control the cover shell and the shackle set to be locked/unlocked, thereby bringing the convenience of using the receiving chamber.

Abstract: The invention generally provides a security storage container for items of recorded media. The device automatically closes and locks when the item of recorded media is inserted into the security storage container. A locking mechanism having dual locking fingers is used to hold the device in the locked configuration. The security storage container may be configured to allow compact discs and DVD jewel boxes and other storage containers to be loaded in a “spine-out” configuration while fully displaying the front cover of the storage container.

In a variant of the invention, a second combination lock controls the attachment bail instead of a key lock. Resilient coverings are provided for the attachment bail and the sides of the lockbox body to prevent damage to buildings and fixtures. A chain is provided to secure the door of the lockbox to the body. A slide latch having non-slip features is controlled by the door's combination lock and engages an edge of the door opening to secure the door opening. The slide latch may have a protrusion for ease of use.

The containing element may be closable and may include a first lock receiving element and a second lock receiving element. The containing element may be configured to receive an asset container. The containing element may be configured to detachedly contain at least one item. A locking member may include a base configured to be present within both the first and second lock receiving elements when the containing element is closed.

The locking mechanism includes a housing, a hook which is selectively locked to the protrusion formed on the locking sleeve and released from it by extruding from the case and pulling back into the case, a moving member which is mounted on the slope and moves up and down the slope by magnetic force, while contacting with the side surface of the hook. The hook moves to the locking position or releasing position as the moving member goes up and down the slope.

Abstract: A locking case is provided including a base portion and a lid portion rotatably engaged to the base portion. A locking mechanism is mounted on the lid portion and extends therethrough. The locking mechanism includes a cam member having first and second surfaces, and being rotatable to a locked position in response to operation of the locking mechanism. A catch is mounted to the base portion and is disposed proximate the cam first surface when the cam is in the locked position. A reinforcing bracket is mounted to the lid. Abstract: An apparatus for holding a substrate includes a shelf capable of holding the substrate; a body which encloses the shelf, the body having an open side; and an outer door frame pivotally coupled to the body and defining an opening. The apparatus also includes an inner door which fits into the opening. The body's open side is substantially covered by the inner door and by the outer door frame when the inner door and outer door frame are in closed positions. The apparatus can include a double hinge for pivotally coupling the outer door frame to the body. It can also include a bolt that is movably attached to the inner door, so that the inner door has a locked position in which the bolt extends into the frame and an unlocked position in which the bolt retracts from the frame.

Abstract: A lock system for a horizontal tool box wherein the latching mechanism for the lid may be operated from the proximal end of the toolbox and locking is achieved by means of a single padlock which is likewise located at the proximal end of the toolbox. An elongated latch rod is slidably disposed adjacent a front wall of either the body or lid components of the box. The padlock and the elongated latch rod are disposed such that the padlock body blocks the longitudinal movement of the proximal end of the latch rod and maintains the latch rod in the latched position when the body components are in the closed position and the padlock is locked, but the proximal end of the latch rod passes between the shackle and the padlock body to move the latch rod to the release position when the padlock is unlocked.

Abstract: A key storage and concealment device that effectively stores and conceals any type of key in an inconspicuous or unobtrusive fashion, wherein quick and convenient access thereto is permitted by only those informed of the device's presence, thus appeasing any trepidation of discovery by an unauthorized person.

Abstract: A seat belt buckle guard device is provided for preventing access to a release button on a seat belt. The device comprises a sleeve structured to fit over a variety of shapes and sizes of seat belt buckles. The sleeve comprises a front face and a top face that are capable of covering the front portion of a variety of seat belt buckles. The sleeve is made of sufficiently rigid material to prevent indentation of the faces and thereby prevent contact with both front and top belt buckle release button. The sleeve further comprising a split back face, which enables the sleeve to expand to fit over the variety of seat belt buckles. A top arm extending from the sleeve engages the scat belt strap with a tight friction fit to resist removal of the sleeve.
