The payment service system transmits, to a mobile device, a request for the mobile device to monitor for one or more signals of other devices within a proximity of the mobile device. The payment service system receives, from the mobile device, information related to monitoring for the one or more signals of other devices within the proximity of the mobile device. The payment service system determines whether the received information related to the monitoring for the one or more signals of other devices satisfies a threshold for a presence indication. The payment service system performs at least one action based at least on whether the threshold for the presence indication is satisfied.

Abstract: A mobile payment method includes making a mobile payment request an automated response system of a merchant store for a purchase. A mobile number of a mobile device is provided to the automated response system. Payment information including the mobile number and a payment amount is sent from the automated response system to the mobile payment server. A Uniform Resource Locator (URL) link is created by the mobile payment server and contains transaction information. The URL link is sent to the mobile device where a customer selects the URL link to set up a Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) session. A program script is downloaded. A payment transaction is confirmed by the mobile device which generates and sends encrypted payment data to a payment network through the mobile payment server.

Abstract: Received data messages are delayed for further processing based on a bypass condition. Data messages that conform to the bypass condition are not delayed. Data messages that do not conform to the bypass condition are delayed by a delay. Data messages can be representative of orders in an electronic marketplace or trading system. The bypass condition can include indication of a post-only order. The bypass condition can further include indication of a volume that meets or exceeds a minimum volume. The delay can be calculated from a base delay and a variance that modifies the base delay. The variance can be randomly or pseudo-randomly selected and can conform to a maximum variance.

Abstract: Systems, computer program products, and methods are described herein for intelligent allocation of a resource into an auxiliary tangible source retainer. The present invention may be configured to determine a difference between a transferred amount of resources provided to an entity by a user and a total amount of a resource distribution, where the difference includes a primary amount of resources corresponding to primary tangible resources and a secondary amount of resources corresponding to secondary tangible resources. The present invention may be further configured to determine, based on a machine-readable code on an auxiliary tangible resource provided by the user, an auxiliary tangible source retainer associated with the auxiliary tangible resource and allocate, from a source retainer associated with the entity, the secondary amount of resources to the auxiliary tangible source retainer associated with the auxiliary tangible resource.

Abstract: Like many credit card payments, virtual card payments are subject to fraudulent transactions. To lower this possibility, data collected from a settlement transaction is stored including a merchant category code, a tax identification number, a merchant identification and an IP address of the processing terminal. Subsequent payments from the same payor to the same payee are verified against the previous settlement transaction data to minimize the possibility of fraud.

Abstract: Methods are described for performing a timely authorization of digital credential data delivered from a mobile device that is without access to a local persistently stored permanent cryptographic key. An application executable in the operating system of a mobile device receives a first non-permanent cryptographic key associated with the account from a remote computer system, stores the first non-permanent cryptographic key as a local cryptographic key associated with the account; generates a response cryptogram using the local cryptographic key and without accessing the permanent cryptographic key and sends a device response communication from the mobile device to an electronic reader of a POS terminal, the device response communication comprising an application data protocol unit containing the response cryptogram and an account identifier for the account.

Abstract: The described financial institution computing system provides services to customers through an application programming interface (“API”). The services include user identification services to customers. The user identification services allow the customers to verify the identity of users as non-fraudulent users. Further the user identification services allow the financial institution to provide known user information to the customers for purposes of prepopulating registration forms, completing transactions, and the like. Further services, such as user account validation services, payment services, and the like are also possible through the financial institution APIs. In some situations, users are registered with the financial institution. For example, a user may also be an account holder with the financial institution. In other situations, the users are not registered with the financial institution.

Abstract: Donation receiving apparatus has a denomination discriminator interfacing a storage area. The denomination discriminator has at least one sensor for sensing at least one physical characteristic of currency passing therethrough. A device controller interfaces a mobile communication device interface and the denomination discriminator. In use, the device controller establishes communication with the mobile communication device, detects a denomination using the at least one physical characteristic and transmits the denomination to the mobile communication device. The mobile communication device may execute an application controller which displays a graphical user interface on a digital display thereof which may display the denomination.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing concurrent secure elements on a mobile device to coordinate with an application or “app” running on the mobile device and an appropriate communications protocol for conducting transactions using the mobile device include: informing, by the processor, the reader device of a preferred app and a communication protocol usable by the preferred app; receiving, by the processor, information about which apps and communication protocols are supported by a reader for processing a transaction; locating, by the processor, a secure element supporting an app and a communication protocol supported by the reader; channeling the communication protocol for the specific configuration of the app and the supporting secure element; activating the secure element that supports the app; and processing, with the activated secure element, using the supported app and communication channel, the transaction with the reader.

Abstract: A self-POS system (1) according to the present disclosure is a self-POS system whereby a customer registers a commodity and checks out and includes a sensor (2) that detects that the customer has retrieved the commodity in a display state, an imaging apparatus (3) that images the customer, and a control unit (4) connected the sensor (2) and the imaging apparatus (3). The control unit (4) is configured to record, as a problem image, an image including at least an image at the time of the retrieval of the commodity when the commodity detected by the sensor (2) as having been retrieved is not registered. Thus, it is possible to provide a self-POS system, a self-POS terminal apparatus, a control method, and a control program capable of recording a fraudulent act at the time of check-out.

Abstract: An alert management and real-time remediation system is disclosed. The system may receive, from an institution, an electronic file that includes an exception information (EI) data structure comprising exception information representing events and customers associated with the events, and a contact information data structure comprising an electronic address for each customer. The system may automatically parse the EI into events associated with the customers, and for each customer, send an event notification message (EN) to the electronic address of the customer, wherein the event notification message includes a link to an authentication interface of the institution associated with the customer.

Abstract: A method for conducting a transaction is disclosed. A processor in a thin client may receive transaction data from a portable device of a first portable device type. The processor may determine that the portable device is the first portable device type. The processor may apply an encryption protocol associated with a second portable device type to the transaction data to create encrypted data. The processor may transmit the encrypted data to a remote computer, wherein the remote computer utilizes the encryption protocol to decrypt the transaction data, and thereafter process the transaction data to conduct the transaction.

Abstract: A media annotation and feedback system can be provided to help a user annotate multimedia content (e.g., photos, videos, portraits, documents, records). Using multiple modes of interaction (e.g., speech, voice, text, handwriting, song), autobiographical and biographical stories can be created. These stories can help a user attribute knowledge and information relating to artifacts that they feel are meaningful and wish to share with others in the future. Such media annotation can facilitate the creation and sharing of stories regarding a person, family, or other group.

Abstract: A request to perform an action related to a smart contract recorded on a public trust ledger external to the database system may be received via a communication interface at a database system. The request may authenticate a designated database system account. A determination may be made as to whether the designated database system account is authorized to perform the action by accessing definition information for a public trust ledger synthetic party identifying a plurality of database system accounts authorized to perform one or more actions related to the smart contract. The database system may communicate with a token exchange to perform the action by executing the smart contract when it is determined that the designated database system account is authorized to perform the action.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a processor. The processor receives an algorithmic shopping cart that includes a first set of items determined by an algorithm to have been selected by a person during a shopping session in a physical store, based on a set of inputs received from sensors located within the physical store. The processor also receives a virtual shopping cart that includes a second set of items. Video of the shopping session was captured by a set of cameras located in the physical store and depicts the person selecting the second set of items. The processor compares the algorithmic cart to the virtual cart and determines that a discrepancy exists between the algorithmic cart and the virtual cart. The processor determines a subset of the set of inputs associated with the discrepancy and attaches metadata explaining the discrepancy to the subset. The processor uses the subset to train the algorithm.

Abstract: Facilitating transaction status indications for point-of-sale (POS) systems is described. A POS application stored on a POS terminal of a POS system may communicate with a payment reader device coupled to the POS terminal and a payment server application. The POS application may receive, from a customer device associated with a customer and via a short-range communication network, payment information for satisfying a cost of a transaction. The POS application may send the payment information to the payment server application to attempt to authorize the payment information for the cost of the transaction and may receive, from the payment server application, an indication of a status of the transaction. Responsive to receiving the indication of the status of the transaction, the payment reader device and the customer device may output respective aspects of a transaction status indication associated with the status of the transaction.

An offer identification query is transmitted to a promotion management computing system via an out-of-band communications channel. Offer redemption instructions corresponding to a matched offer are received from the promotion management computing system via the out-of-band communications channel. Based on the redemption value of the matched offer, a net transaction amount for the purchase event is determined. The payment authorization request message is modified based on the determined net transaction amount. The modified payment authorization request message is transmitted to an issuer computing system via an in-band communications channel.

Abstract: A self-checkout verification system may include a user device configured to collect user mobile checkout image data from products to be purchased in a store during a mobile checkout process, generate a mobile checkout list of the products to be purchased based upon the collected mobile checkout image data, and process payment based upon the mobile checkout list. The system may also include a self-checkout verification station in the store and configured to obtain the mobile checkout list from the user device, collect verification image data from a plurality of products presented for verification, and generate a verification list based upon the verification image data. The self-checkout verification station may also be configured to determine a discrepancy between the verification list and the mobile checkout list, and generate and communicate a notification based upon the discrepancy.

An indication is received that a modification has been made to the first tokenized file. Based at least in part on the received indication, a recommended action that should be taken with respect to the second tokenized file is generated. A change to at least one related token is predicted based on a past history of correlated events occurring to the first token and related tokens.

Abstract: In a computer-implemented method of using customer data to determine that geolocation-based fraud alerts are false positives, it may be determined that an electronic fraud alert is a geolocation-based alert generated based upon an unexpected or abnormal transaction location. In response, customer data may be obtained from two or more sources via radio frequency links. It may then be determined that the customer data from the sources indicates that a customer is traveling. In response, it may be determined that a customer location indicated by the customer data corresponds to the transaction location. In response to determining that the customer location corresponds to the transaction location, the electronic fraud alert may be marked as a false positive, and the electronic fraud alert may be prevented from being transmitted to a mobile device of the customer, in order to reduce an amount of false positives that are transmitted to customers.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying user-customized relevant individuals in an ambient image at a doorbell device are provided. Such systems and methods can include receiving user input that includes image information, using the image information to compile a custom image database containing a plurality of images that depict such relevant individuals, and storing the custom image database in local memory of the doorbell device. Then, such systems and methods can include capturing an ambient image with a camera of the doorbell device, determining whether any person depicted in the ambient image matches any of the relevant individuals by comparing the ambient image to the plurality of images at the doorbell device, and generating an alert when any person depicted in the ambient image matches any of the relevant individuals.

Abstract: Systems and methods to utilize a machine learning model registry are described. The system deploys a first version of a machine learning model and a first version of an access module to server machines. Each of the server machines utilizes the model and the access module to provide a prediction service. The system retrains the machine learning model to generate a second version. The system performs an acceptance test of the second version of the machine learning model to identify it as deployable. The system promotes the second version of the machine learning model by identifying the first version of the access module as being interoperable with the second version of the machine learning model and by automatically deploying the first version of the access module and the second version of the machine learning model to the plurality of server machines to provide the prediction service.

Abstract: Aspects described herein may provide determination of a pedestrian route for a user to reach a seating area inside of a venue. Financial transaction data of the user may be reviewed to determine the user purchased one or more tickets to an event at the venue. Information regarding the event or the venue may be determined including seating charts for the venue and whether the tickets are for assigned or unassigned seats. Crowd densities inside and outside of the venue may be determined. The pedestrian route may be determined based on the crowd densities, number of tickets, and type of seating. The route may be updated as conditions change including any change to the crowd densities or change to seating availability. The route may increase a likelihood that the user reaches the seating area prior to a start of the event, and in a less stressful manner.

The transaction computing system communicates the customer data to the terminal. When the user taps the user computing device to initiate the transaction, the terminal provides any benefits associated with the customer data.

Abstract: In order to make it more difficult to obtain numbers that can be used to conduct fraudulent transactions, a portion of a real account number is encrypted. The encrypted portion of the account number is used to generate a new account number, a new expiration date, and a new verification value. This information can be determined using processor that may reside in a point of sale terminal, a smart card, or a computer operated by a user. The new account number, the new expiration date, and the new verification value can be used in a payment transaction. A server computer in a central payment processing network may determine that the new account information is not the real account information, and may subsequently generate a modified authorization request message using the real account information and may send it to an issuer for approval. The transmission of data is more secure, since real account information is not sent from the merchant to the payment processing network.

Abstract: Embodiments provide methods, and systems for facilitating a payment transaction utilizing a pre-defined radio frequency allocated by an agency to a merchant. A user may open an application provided and maintained by a payment network on a user device and input the pre-defined radio frequency associated with the merchant. The payment network server is configured to establish a secure radio frequency connection between the user device and a merchant server of the merchant. Post establishment, the user may proceed to make a payment transaction to the merchant by choosing a payment method and authenticating his/her identity. The payment transaction is authorized by an issuer of the payment account and is forwarded to the payment network server. The payment network server is configured to fetch acquirer information of the merchant account and process the payment. Post completion, a confirmation message is sent to the user device over the secure RF connection.

Abstract: Described are a system and method for dynamic promotional offers during user interaction at an automated teller machine (ATM). The method includes receiving, at the ATM, a transaction request based on an account identifier associated with an account of a user. The method further includes, in response to determining that the account was issued by the issuer, generating, with at least one processor, an authorization request message based on the transaction request and the account identifier.
