  • Patent number: 11618155
Abstract: An automated kitchen assistant system inspects a food preparation area in the kitchen environment using a novel sensor combination. The combination of sensors includes an Infrared (IR) camera that generates IR image data and at least one secondary sensor that generates secondary image data. The IR image data and secondary image data are processed to obtain combined image data. A trained convolutional neural network is employed to automatically compute an output based on the combined image data. The output includes information about the identity and the location of the food item. The output may further be utilized to command a robotic arm, kitchen worker, or otherwise assist in food preparation. Related methods are also described.

Abstract: A parser is deployed early in a machine learning pipeline to read raw data and collect useful statistics about the raw data's content to determine which items of raw data exhibit a proxy for feature importance for the machine learning model. The parser operates at high speeds that approach the disk's absolute throughput while utilizing a small memory footprint. Utilization of the parser enables the machine learning pipeline to receive a fraction of the total raw data that would otherwise be available. Several scans through the data are performed, by which proxies for feature importance are indicated and irrelevant features may be discarded and thereby not forwarded to the machine learning pipeline. This reduces the amount of memory and other hardware resources used at the server and also expedites the machine learning process.

Abstract: A transaction processing system for performing one or more steps of a method is disclosed. The system may receive user receipt preferences including rules specifying whether or not a user wants a receipt. The system may also receive (i) a purchase authorization request associated with an attempted purchase and (ii) user device location data. The system may further set a receipt flag corresponding to the receipt status. If the system determines that the transaction is to be authorized, it attaches the receipt flag to the authorization message and transmits the authorization message to the merchant. Alternatively, if the system determines that the transaction is not to be authorized, it attaches the receipt flag to the cancellation message and transmits the cancellation message to the merchant.

Abstract: A system for authenticating user identities and exchange data via a blockchain is described. Initially, first data related to a commitment being made by a user is obtained by a client device. The first data is partly based on information identificatory or a characteristic of the user. The first data is sent by the client device to a verification system. The verification system then verifies that the first data corresponds with second data generated using identification documentation of the user. The data representing the commitment to a blockchain is posted by the verification system responsive to a successful verification.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program products are provided for facilitating the application of a ledger, or data structure in general, to programmatically identify duplicate data objects, such as those indicative of card-linked offers provided against a single transaction, and more specifically, to the utilization of a global ledger to identify stacking of card-linked offers. One example method includes receiving an indication of an interaction between two devices, generating distributed ledger data, the distributed ledger data indicative of a previous interaction between the primary device and an entity, causing transmission of the distributed ledger data to each of a plurality of nodes in a offerer network, after a predetermined amount of time, causing performance of a comparison within the distributed ledger data to determine that the entity and a second entity comprise corresponding data objects, applying a rule to generate an adjusted value.
