Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for Msg3 collision resolutions. In one embodiment, the UE obtains a set of DMRS seeds and randomly selecting one to generate a DMRS sequence for the Msg3. The set of DMRS seeds is either generated based on a received cell-specific parameter or are received from the network. In another embodiment, the eNB, upon detecting the collision in Msg3, indicates a lowered MCS level for the Msg3 transmission in the RAR after the preamble detection. In another embodiment, the early termination of Msg3 transmission is used upon determining the collision of Msg3. In one embodiment, the eNB responds an ACK to a failed Msg3 to suspend the re-transmission of the Msg3. In another embodiment, the eNB sends a flag to cancel the mac-ContentionResolutionTimer and terminate the Msg3 transmission. The termination indication is either embedded in the acknowledgement signaling or sent through PDCCH signaling.

Abstract: Described herein are methods, systems, and software for handling packet buffering between end users and content servers, such as content delivery nodes. In one example, a method of operating a content server includes generating first and second data packets for first and second content requests. Once generated, the method provides storing the first packets in a packet buffer and transferring the first packets to a first user device. Upon transfer, the first packets are deleted from the packet buffer and replaced with the second packets. Theses second packets are then transferred to a second user device and deleted from the packet buffer. Further, once the packets are transferred to the user devices, the method further includes monitoring for an acknowledgment from the user devices to ensure the packets are received.

  • Patent number: 10230501
Abstract: A technique for storing softbits of messages received according to a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) protocol is disclosed. As to a method aspect of the technique, a first storage (102) and a second storage (104) are provided. The first storage and a second storage include a plurality of memory segments (103) allocatable to HARQ processes. A first message related to a first HARQ process is received. The first message is protected by a channel code of the HARQ protocol and represented by softbits. The softbits of the first message are stored in a first segment of the first storage. The first segment is allocated to the first HARQ process. The first storage is accessible by a channel decoding unit (110) for decoding the channel code. If a number of allocated segments in the first storage, the decoding of which has not been yet completed, exceeds a threshold, the allocation for the first HARQ process is changed from the first segment in the first storage to a second segment in the second storage.

  • Patent number: 10216574
Abstract: A data storage system configured to adaptively code data is disclosed. In one embodiment, a data storage system controller determines a common memory page size, such as an E-page size, for a non-volatile memory array. Based on the common memory page size, the controller selects a low-density parity-check (LDPC) code word length from a plurality of pre-defined LDPC code word lengths. The controller determines LDPC coding parameters for coding data written to or read from the memory array based on the selected LDPC code word length. By using the plurality of pre-defined LDPC code word lengths, the data storage system can support multiple non-volatile memory page formats, including memory page formats in which the common memory page size does not equal any LDPC code word length of the plurality of pre-defined LDPC code word lengths. Flexibility and efficiency of data coding can thereby be achieved.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Wireless communications systems operating in unlicensed or shared radio frequency spectrum band may use different modes to manage hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. HARQ feedback may be transmitted autonomously or, in some cases, HARQ feedback may be solicited from a user equipment (UE) for one or several HARQ processes. Solicited feedback may be referred to as polled feedback and autonomous feedback may be referred to as unpolled feedback. Polled and unpolled feedback may be transmitted using different physical channels, and may be grant-based or triggered without an express grant. Buffers for polled and unpolled feedback may be separately maintained and managed. In a multicarrier configuration, uplink control information (UCI) for one or more carriers may be transmitted on a subset of configured uplink carriers. A number of carriers used for UCI may depend on operating conditions of a UE.
