Abstract: A video processing system may include a display and a video processor coupled to the display. The video processor may be configured to ingest a time-referenced video and media content, correlate the media content to corresponding points in time in the time-referenced video, and generate on the display a video window for playing the time-referenced video and a media window for displaying the media content. The video processor may also be configured to bi-directionally associate the video window and the media window so that playing of the video changes the media window based upon reaching corresponding points in time in the time-referenced video, and so that selection of media content in the media window changes the video play to reflect corresponding points in time in the time-referenced video.

  • Patent number: 8671359
Abstract: A scroll display control device is provided, which is capable of scroll-displaying a text corresponding to a picture in such manner that the text can be easily understood. The scroll display control device scroll-displays, in synchronism with reproduction of the picture correlated to text information (TI), the corresponding text information (TI) on a text display screen (TW). A scroll speed calculation unit (102) dynamically calculates a text scroll speed (v) on the basis of a time length of a picture section presently under reproduction, a text quantity of the corresponding text section and text display setting information. A picture text control unit (104) scroll-displays text of the text section at a predetermined reference position of the text display screen (TW) according to the scroll speed (v). By displaying preceding and succeeding texts with respect to the text corresponding to the picture section presently under reproduction, it is possible to read back and pre-read.

Abstract: Described herein is technology for, among other things, selecting a representative thumbnail from a video clip. The technology involves analyzing frames of the video clip to determine which frames are stable, the result of the analysis being a number of segments of stable frames. From the stable segments, a number of candidate segments are selected, where candidate segments are those segments determined to a degree of certainty to be program content. The representative thumbnail is then selected from among the frames of the candidate segments.

Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein include systems and methods that provide a workflow-based session manager or workflow engine for a content delivery system, such as for delivering video-on-demand, streaming audio, streaming video, etc. Such techniques increase velocity and flexibility of deploying new features and services in a video delivery system. Techniques include a session management model provides a service-oriented and workflow-based approach. As a service-oriented approach, each functional session management step can be represented as a business service. As a workflow-based solution, a sequence of steps to be performed can be defined as data, rather than being hard-coded inside an application. Defined as data, steps (nodes, tasks) can then be created and changed using a graphical editor. New services can be added by defining actions for the new service, and adding a node to a given session management workflow sequence. Techniques include a workflow engine that initiates session management in realtime.

Abstract: A computerized system and method for communicating about digital content. In one embodiment, the system allows users to view and post video comments about source digital content. Typically, the source digital content and associated videos comments are assigned unique identifications so the relationships among videos can be stored in a central database. This means that video comments about source digital content can be decentralized since the source digital content has unique identifiers throughout websites and the relationship with any associated videos can be determined based on relationships stored in the database.

  • Patent number: 8667401
Abstract: An electronic meeting application is disclosed which allows electronic meetings to be recorded and archived. The electronic meeting is driven by a plurality of input sources synchronized according to each one's order of play in the meeting. This synchronization is maintained by a main meeting timeline. The disclosed electronic meeting application records each of the input sources into separately accessible data files. The data files may be converted into metadata files that can used for searching purposes. Metadata description files are also generated that describe the appearance of each of the objects displaying the information from the input sources. On replay of the recorded meeting, the meeting application uses the metadata files to re-render the meeting interface and display the recordings of the selected input sources. Therefore, a user may select the specific content from the meeting to replay.
